The staff (Simo & Aisha) were so welcoming and friendly. Really enjoyed our stay and the warm atmosphere. It's a small riad so it feels more like coming home everyday than just a place to stay. Great value for money.
- Very good location and easy to find (5 min away to the big square) - Excellent breakfast and dinner (Aisha prepared a special dinner for us - tagine and couscous) - Extremely friendly staff, they treated us like a family - Our advice is to try their hammam (although is located at 10 min away) - Lovely terrace
- Poor noise isolation in the rooms
Very good location, small riad but support very good facilities, breakfast very good and very friendly and helpful staff like brothers
This riad was very nice, with comfortable rooms and showers and gracious hosts. There are only four rooms so they take care of their guests well. I highly recommend this for people looking for a good riad experience, and would definitely choose this over a hostel.
The men who run the place are very, very kind. They even gave us a bigger room for the same price. We had a wonderful time.
Imagine that you have relatives in Marrakech. Imagine that they invite you to stay a few days. Ignoring the fact that some (reasonable) amount money changes hands, this is how you feel. They will make their very best to make you feel like at home: - Nice location. Centric but quiet - Excellent breakfast - Free wifi - Fabulous staff - Excellent services (food, organised trips, ...) - Lovely terrace
- Poor noise isolation through the rooms and with the common areas
All the the staff were excellent from the beginning to the end of my stay. Youssef,Simone and the multitasker supreme, Fatima Zara, could not do enough for me during my visit. It was my first time in Morocco and they made me feel very welcome to their country and adopted city. They organised the hamman de bonheur where I experienced the traditional hamman scrub and one of the best massages I have ever had. On one of the mornings I did an excellent cookery course which was done in the riad and given by the very talented Fatima. Highly recommended a stay in this great Riad!!
The only thing I could fault is that it was cold in the foyer at night and in the room. But they gave me a heater and once that was put on for a while it was very comfortable, even for January.
Very nice Riad in the Medina of Fes. We enjoy very much the breakfast. The staff helped us to organize our visit of the city.
very nice stay in Riad Zehar.
Best place in Marrakesh to stay. Especially people in Riad are too kind and friendly. They treat you as a member of their family and thank you for everything!
Friendly, but not very professional.
The place is dirty period. We got bit by some type of bugs possibly bed bugs and got a nasty rash. I booked here thinking the reviews are pretty good but our time there and the reviews just didn't add up. The staff attempts to be helpful but they don't communicate effectively which led to many uncomfortable interactions throughout our stay. One of the bedrooms is literally a landing space between two flights of stairs. From this bedroom people can see directly into your room from the downstairs hallway. Essentially zero privacy! And the AC in that room drips cold water onto the bed once the AC is turned off. The place had many other issues which I wont even bother writing. But I would strongly advise you to look elsewhere for a place to stay in Marrakesh. You WILL regret staying here! Don't Say nobody warned me LOL!
Mustafa and Aziz, they did their best for making us comfortable. Thank you guys.
An Advice for the Riad: Make a meeting point for your future guests to help them find your riad without having any problems like fake guides on the streets...
A beautiful and peaceful place hidden in the narrow streets of Medina and it's only 5 minutes walk to the Square. Youssef was a fantastic host , looked after us very well. His mint tea on our arrival and Aisha's breakfast were the best we had during our 16 days holiday in Morocco.
Staff were incredibly helpful and the food was excellent. Great location right in the heart of the medina, we were also able to use the spa at one of the other riad's, the hamman treatment was amazing. Highly recommend.
Friendly staff greeted you the moment you exited the comfort of your room. Breakfast was served within minutes, and they were always very keen on having tea and a quick chat before you leave for your daily adventure.
The Riad is located in a central position. The enviroment is very warming thanks to the staff (Youssef and Aisha). They were always available, friendly and kind to us. They helped us in deciding which places were worth a visit (sometimes they even came along to show us the road) and we were showed some road signs which were very useful in getting back to the Riad. In the morning we always had a tasty and rich breakfast (if you want they can cook dinner too). Moreover, we had the chance to drink a tea whenever we wanted to. Our advice is to try their HAMMAM which is very good.
This was our first trip to Morocco and we had an amazing 3-night stay at Riad Zehar. The Riad sent a nice man to meet us at the airport. He took us to the edge of the medina, where we were met by another pleasant man, who took us through the medina to the Riad. It was a lovely taste of Marrakesh on the mid-afternoon short walk through the Souk. We were greeted at the Riad by Joussef and Aisa, who are wonderful hosts. We drank mint tea (Berber whisky) with them, while our luggage was taken to our room. The Riad is lovely and very charming, and the hosts, Joussef and Aisa, make it a very special place to stay. They go to great lengths to help you relax and make your stay comfortable. Breakfast is delicious, and breakfast times are flexible, so you can get up early or sleep in late and still get breakfast (which I loved). They also cook a very good traditional tajine for dinner. Youssef will do everything he can to make your stay special. He will give you information and advice on Marrakesh, make reservations, take you places….anything you need, you just have to ask. He is one of the nicest people you will meet. The Riad has a lovely roof top terrace and a very atmospheric inner courtyard, where you will be served mint tea whenever you like. We stayed in the Eden Room. The room itself is not huge, but it was very clean, had a very comfortable bed, and a great shower. We hope it’s not too long before we return to Riad Zehar.
There wasn't anything we didn't like. We really enjoyed the whole experience.
The staff is good and Youssef the manager is a great person. He will make your stay more authentic and enjoyable. Well placed, Clean and authentic 100% recommendable
Everything was Ok.
We stayed there a couple of weeks ago for 3 nights. The place was very beautiful, clean and comfortable, with a great Moroccan atmosphere! The staff was awesome!! They were very friendly, polite and helpful. They gave us a lot of information about the city, food places and useful tips. Both Youssef and Yassine were amazing guys!! They even invited us to do things with them!! And of course Aisa made us one of the best breakfasts ever and was very sweet and polite, smiling all the time! All the people there made our stay much more comfortable and difficult to forget. They made us feel like home! Thank you for all that!! Hope to see you again soon!!!
Service was very good , very Nice people , food was very good.
The owner, Youssef, is an amazingly nice man and was the only positive of this Riad.
This riad is way overpriced for what it is, how it scores so high in reviews can only be attributed to the wonderful host, Youssef, and not to the actual hotel facilities whatsoever. The bad: The second bedroom smelled strongly of cats. The toilet reeked of sewer. The room is on the street level and you could hear every footstep, scooter, etc. go by all night, the single pane glass is not sufficient to block out any amount of noise. The fountain in the lobby was not working and was used to hold a large shisha pipe instead. We stayed at a different riad at the end of our trip that was beautiful, clean, soundproof and 100 Euros cheaper. This Riad would need to lower their price significantly or upgrade their facilities greatly for me to recommend this Riad.
The staff treated us like family. They made sure we knew where we were going and walked us various places just to make sure we didn't get lost. They are located right where you want to be in Marrakesh.
Excellent service from the dedicated personell
For light sleepers the sound travels very well in the riad, so anything inside and outside the building is heard in the room.
