The location, the kindness of owners, the decor, and the small pool.

    The weak wifi signal.

The ryad is located just 3 minutes walk away from the main plaza, and 2 minutes away from where taxis can drop you off. The owner Véronique will come with her dog Shwya to pick you up and bring you to the ryad. The service is excellent. Véronique can help you in your every need while in Marrakech, and most often she will bring you to where you want to go, just to make sure you find your way! There is a family atmosphere. Guests can sit together and chat next to the small "pool", while the hosts join you. There is a roof top balcony with great views. Breakfast is great! Lots of varieties and very generous quantity. The staff are very friendly. Great place to stay!

I stayed in the room Remla (sable), located on the ground floor. The windows can't open and there is no ventilation. The only way to get the humidity and smell out of your room is to leave your door wide open. That's what I didn't like about that room.

Veronique and Jean-Marc were wonderful hosts and the riad is a peaceful haven from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. Clean, very comfortable and a wonderful breakfast. Hope the All Blacks can beat the French!!

    Nothing not to like

Our hosts Veronique and Jean-Marc were wonderful people who clearly place a very high value on hospitality and who could not have received us more kindly or generously. This riad is beautiful, airy, graced with a reflecting pool and a beautiful shade tree. The breakfast was varied, generous and delicious. Nothing was too much trouble and I could not recommend this riad enough - especially given the good nature and warmth of our hosts.

Great location making it easy to get to the main square without much chance of getting lost. Owners/staff were the perfect mix of being there when needed to answer questions and provide breakfast/drinks as required (including beer) without being overly intrusive. Riad itself is lovely - great trees and pool in the courtyard and roof terrace overlooking the mountains and Kotoubia.

Our stay at Ryad Dar Ganou could not have been better. Veronique and Jean Marc are the ultimate hosts. From the welcoming pot of mint tea upon our arrival, to the assistance in tour planning, they were always available and more than happy to answer any and all of our questions. The Ryad is spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. The breakfast each morning on the rooftop terrace was amazing! Plenty of fresh fruit, pastries, crepes, fresh squeezed juice, eggs, and coffee or tea. We also had an amazing meal prepared by their cook that was delicious. The location couldn't be better! It's only a 5 minute walk to the main square or the tour pickup gate. And there's a nice young man acting as security in the alleyways outside the Ryad. He never asked for money, but we tipped him on our last night and he was very appreciative. Although we never needed it, there was an air conditioner/heater in every room. The bed was one of the most comfortable sleeps I've ever had on a vacation. The room wasn't huge, but we never felt cramped and always had plenty of hot water in the spacious shower. Veronique's restaurant suggestions were all spot on and the tours she organized for us were very affordable and customized. And the driver/guide that she uses, Eunessa, was a perfect gentleman and an amazing driver. He took us to specific areas we wanted to visit and let us stop for pictures whenever we wanted! The only slight complaint that we had was that it would have been nice to have Internet connectivity in the room. But that's really nitpicking. Overall, I can't say enough good things about our stay at Ryad Dar Ganou. We're already talking about a return trip. Highly recommended!

Veronique the owner is genuinely friendly, and will take care of you, nothing is too much trouble. She and Jean-Marc made us feel very welcome. Veronique met us at the City wall when we arrived by taxi, and walked with us to the ryad. When we departed, she waited with us outside the City wall until the taxi arrived. This is super service. Clean room with comfortable beds, en-suite shower and WC Enjoyed the classic ryad decoration and furnishings A superb breakfast, everyday we looked forward to eating it on the rooftop Excellent location in the Medina, souks close-by, easy walking distance to the main square

A minor matter - the free Wi-Fi did not always work
