Beautiful place, very well run. I was ill half the time but still managed to have a great time. Also we were in one of the smaller rooms - balcony rooms look fantastic. Good food and friendly staff. And you can get a decent drink...
An oasis of hospitality and elegance in the Medina.
Fantastic ryad. Beautiful rooms and courtyard. The food is highly recommended.
This a beautiful Riad, fantastically decorated with a stunning garden. The room was very spacious with a lovely seating area and balcony. There is a great choice for breakfast and we stayed for a couple of evening meals which were delicious. Michel also has an excellent wine list to choose from.
Many thanks to Michel, the owner, for coming to fetch us when we failed to find our own way to the Riad. As our daughter put it, he's a true gentleman. From the moment we entered the riad we fell in love with it - from the trees and ornamental pool in the garden to the tasteful decor throughout the riad. As for the food, delicious is the only word to use. Thanks also to the staff who looked after us so well. Fes medina is not for the faint-hearted but is a fantastic experience. In our opinion, forget Marrakech and head to Fes as there is so much more to see. What's more, the Fassi shopkeepers are polite and don't harrass you.
Nothing. Not having wifi in our room didn't even matter as it was available in communal areas.
The room was very comfortable - lots of space, great shower. We even had a sitting area and balcony. The inner garden is a oasis of rest and beauty in a dusty Fez. It's relatively easy to find from one of the main souk streets. Michel, the owner, was very helpful, and not too pushy, just right. Transport from the airport was arranged by him and was hassle free, which is great when you just arrive in a country you do not know well. The other staff was also very friendly and helpful, providing little touches such as making tea from herbs in the garden that we had commented on etc. Evening meals delicious, with option of a 'light' version consisting of soup and warm salads - very tasty. The best food in our two week stay in the country.
a quiet oasis in the heart of Fes. Great and helpful staff
Price and the beds! Beds were very hard
I liked that I had a sunshine filled room and a spacious balcony overlooking the courtyard. This is something you rarely find in a riad. I also enjoyed that it had a sitting area in the room. The riad was very quiet at night which allowed for many hours of peaceful sleep. They serve breakfast until noon - so I slept in daily. The food was excellent. I really enjoyed tasting many moroccan dishes every night.
It is hidden deep in the medina and I doubt I could have found it without assistance. By the third day I was a pro at finding it.
An intimate but professionally run read with all the comforts one would expect from a much larger hotel.
Excellent Ryad up to international standards. Quick service like arranging a guide for the medina (strongly advised). French owner/host speaks English very well. Dinner options including 'light' version. Close to a parking place at the border of the Medina which makes it possible to easily escape from the Medina-labyrinth, and return to, specially in the evening. Close to Cafe Clock which children, teenagers and young adults will appreciate.
Nothing. Beds are a bit hard as everywhere below the Pyrenees -Alps line.
Nice Riad, great location, great breakfast, great service
A bit cold in the room (January)
Very relaxed atmosphere, very friendly staff, great food
Beautiful garden, room and terrace. Calm. Room cleaning service. The bathroom is fantastic too.
Riad is very huge but there is only one person who can handle it. Also, breakfast is very poor than I expected. There are no fluent English speakers. Location is very hard to find it, you need to use a guide after getting off the taxi. And they ask you some money. (10dh) Wifi is not enough reached into the room (2nd floor).
We stayed 3 nights. The building, the garden, the room (Clementine), the staff - especially Michel, the location. The food was fantastic - even though we weren't well enough to enjoy it all. Our 7 am departure was no trouble (normal breakfast is at 8.30am).
We had a bit of trouble with the shower controls but these were adjusted with alacrity.
Beautiful Ryad in great location. Host arranged for taxi from airport and wonderful guides. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast. Would highly recommend.
This is a phenomenal Ryad. I was there with my son for 3 days. The owner Michel was very helpful in arranging transportation and going over the highlights of Fez. Excellent food served by very pleasant personnel. Kudos in particular to Tahir!
Nothing. Everything was really perfect. I would love to come back to this Ryad! I would give it a 10/10
Food Decor Friendly Peaceful
Step at foot of bed
Excellent experience, beautifully decorated and appointed riad. Friendly and helpful owner and staff. Wonderfully prepared and presented meals. Room was comfortable, clean, spacious and bright.
Perfect in every detail. The host has spared no expenses to make his riad a welcoming, beautiful place. The zellij (tilework) on floors and walls, the woodwork, everything looks gorgeous. Or room had a nice little balcony that was the most relaxing place to end the day with some mint tea. Also, the location is excellent. It is on a quiet street that runs between the two main roads in the medina. The host gave us some good tips for restaurants as well.
We found beds all over Morroco rather hard. To our surprise, Ryad Salama was no exception. Maybe even the hardest.
Everything particularly Michelle's attention to his guests.
Constant attention as a tourist by salesmen gives a feeling of being attacked
