Villa Amaryllis

Beautiful setting, very warm welcome, very relaxing place and not far from Essaouira' s Medina.

It was a little tricky to find the place...but we managed thanks to the indications we received.

Warm welcome, very nice people, kind, good food, very VERY nice rooms, propose activities such as hunting, fishing,...

Indication to get to Villa Amaryllis could be better.

Beautiful place. design and gardens Friendly, helpful and gentle staff. Clean and welcoming. Peaceful. Lovely food at a very reasonable price. Location away from city. quality facilities.

We were very comfortable and appreciated the calm atmosphere of the place. Bernard and Myriam looked after us very well and made our stay the highlight of our Moroccan holiday. Thank you so much for your kindness.

You really do need a car if you are going to stay there. It is absolutely fine now to rent a car and travel around, which we had not appreciated since our last visit to Morocco was 7 years ago.

Villa Amaryllis is run by a lovely couple who could not do enough to make us comfortable and happy. Nothing is too much and all the staff have exactly the same attitude. It is of the highest quality and i would definately recommend it for anyone looking to relax in the sun

The only issue with the villa is the distance from anything, however it is easy to order a taxi from the villa, or the hire of a vehicle would be quite sufficient.

The best of Morocco meets the best of France... We had a great stay at Villa Amaryllis. They couldn't have been more helpful. The attention to detail is extremely high and very tasteful. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing time in a beautiful setting. The breakfast was superb, by the pool. Loved watching the turtles waddling around...

The room was very nice decorated, I loved the bathroom. Though hot water runs out, which is not very handy with 3 kids and 2 adults all want to shower at the same time. The service was good, and a plus of French owners is the fact they serve alcohol (very nice Maroccan rose). Their kids wore there and sometimes it felt like they wore the guests, sitting in the best chairs, sunbeds, etc. But I have to say it didn't make my stay any worse, it was great! But I can imagine some people wouldn't like that laidback atmosphere. Food was nice, not too expensive, but definitely not cheap. If you got a rental car, it's easy to drive to Essaouira and find a nice place to eat. If you're travelling with kids, it's a good place to stay. Out of the hustle of town, a nice pool, 6 turtles to feed (my kids favorite), at night your kids can go to bed while you enjoy a drink at the pool.

I have to admit breakfast indeed wasn't efficient at all. Whitout a rental car you're a bit in the middle of nowhere and the owners try their best to speak Enlish, but they just can't :-). But nevertheless I would definitely reccomend a stay at this hotel. Especially with kids.

A truly fantastic experience...especially as we had just arrived from a 5* luxury stay in the Atlas mountains so had very high expectations. The attention to detail and personal approach shown by the team were lovely :) We can't wait to return in the near future. Thank you for a relaxing stay in what should be described as a boutique villa!

The location of the Villa is hard to find but the owner caem t opck us up when we called. The room was very nicely located in a separate building in the garden. We appreciated that we could order a bear.

Breakfast service was not very efficient. There was much wind all day which made it rather cold, even during summer.

Bed was comfy.

No choice of food just given whatever they feel like cooking and badly cooked. Location is terrible if you are without a car.

We enjoyed our stay in Villa Amarylis as we were looking for a place to relax and enjoy sun and the pool and it was absolutely perfect for that! Not too crowded, perfectly clean, lots of attention to details, nice food and good service. We even were offered to have a better room for the same price as it was empty at the moment of our arrival.:) We loved the place so much that instead of one day we decided to spend there two nights. The owner of the place was very nice to us and even though we had difficulties to understant each other (she speaks only french) we felt perfetly happy and looked after. Totaly recomment the place for couple of days, really nice if you are looking for some romance too ;)

Have in mind that they do not take cards! Therefore useful to have cash with you on the moment of checkout.

In short; this is the best stay I have ever experienced outside my home. I have travelled quite a bit in my life as I am a photographer (from The Netherlands). I have stayed in small places on the beach, I have stayed in 5 star hotels. But Villa Amaryllis was something really, but really special. Myriam, new owner since september 2011, and her staff did everything they could to make me feel at home and even more. She could not have been more attentive. Also she is clearly not in it for the money, but persuing her dream and just wants to make people happy. I had to unvoluntarely stay longer as I broke my ribs during my trip. I was treated so kind and well, I felt like a prince. So again for me; best stay ever! It was perfect for me..However one note; I do not believe that perfect exists for everybody in the same place. This is not a place for rude people who have no eye for details. Are you a bad mannered beerdrinker? Go to Egypt. Do you feel very important? Go to a 5 star resort. This is a place for the open minded, the romantic, the intellectual, the artistic minded, the ones who know that it helps to be friendly yourself. If you are and you can afford to rent a car (not necessary, but it helps as it is 8 km outsight the town, in return you'll find an oasis of peace.) go there, be nice and I can only hope that you will have such an incredible experience as I have had. Thanks Myriam, Bernard, Nabil, Mustafa, for this out of the world treatment and best experience ever, Joan BTW for those with backtrouble like me; beds are fantastic! As is the food. If only I could, I would go back immediately. But well, gotta work:-)

Zeer goed. Heel vriendelijk personeel, service gericht. Mooi/leuk opgezet hotel met ommuurde tuin met zwembad. Zeer gezellig en lekker eten

le charme et le calme de l'endroit et surtout la qualité de l'accueil de Myriam, de son collaborateur Nabil et de toute l'équipe qui sont tous aux petits soins, ne songeant qu'à faire plaisir à leurs hôtes

C'est une belle découverte, Myriam et Bernard sont des hôtes charmants, nous avons passé un très bon moment de détente .les chambres sont décorées avec gout, c'est un endroit vraiment paisible ou il fait bon prendre un verre au bord de la piscine.

Locatie is niet goed op de site aangegeven. Ook staan nergens aanwijzigingen zoals pijlen of bordjes die aangeven waar ergens het hotel te vinden was. Ook de telefoon was niet bereikbaar.het hotel was frans ingericht, jammer dat het in marokko staat.

tres joli cadre , villa tres confortable acceuil et service digne d'un hotel de haut standing je recommande de prendre un peu de temps au hamman qui vraiment en vaut le détour....et si vous avez l'occasion de vous laisser tenter par un massage : la masseuse a des mains de magicienne....... Adresse à avoir dans son agenda pour 1 séjour à essaouirra et un plus tres facile à trouver avec les explications de la maitresse de maison

dommage notre séjour etait trop court on y retournera pour profiter la prochaine fois de la piscine

Man braucht ein Auto, allerdings organisiert auch das Hotel gerne Fahrten mit dem eigenen Auto nach Essaouira und zu den Stränden.

l'accueil de Myriam et Bernard, la gentillesse du personnel, la qualité des petits-dej et diners, le cadre, la décoration de très bon gout, et pleins de petites choses qui font que l'on s'y sent bien. Même la piste pour accéder a son charme. On y reviendra, c'est sûr.

Die Besitzer sowie sämtliche Mitarbeiter sind ausgesprochen freundlich, zuvorkommend und aufmerksam. Praktisch jeder Wunsch wird erfüllt. Die gesamte Anlage ist stimmig - Ambiente, Essen, Service alles passt super zusammen, so dass man hervorragend entspannen und erholen kann !

Vielleicht könnte man im Winter noch versuchen, die Heizmöglichkeiten der Häuser zu verbessern, gerade auch für den eiskalten Pool Solarthemie nutzen...? In den Wintermonaten braucht man sonst für die Abende und Nächte unbedingt wärmere Kleidung...

Le calme et la détente aux abords de la ville. La qualité, la gentillesse et le professionnalisme de l'accueil. La gastronomie. Le très bon goût de la décoration et des aménagements des chambres, des espaces communs et du jardin.

Un lieu superbe, un personnel adorable, tout est parfait dans les moindres details, la déco, les repas, c'est propre, c'est calme ... un havre de paix à 5 minutes de la plage ....

Il faut bien en partir un jour et dire aurevoir aux tortues !

L'accueil des proprio Myriam et Bernard, ainsi que la gentillesse et discrètion de Nabil. Le personnel toujours à l'écoute et voit à répondre avec satisfaction a tous nos besoins. Myriam et Bernard font en sorte que nous aimions notre séjour. Bernard, un homme de pêche et de chasse et qui partage généreusement sa passion. Il connaît les guides et les terrains de chasse, Michael a pu aller à la chasse au sanglier et les sangliers étaient au rendez-vous. Malheureusement pas tuer, mais c'était pour respecter la nature! comme disait Bernard. Bon repas. Nous y sommes resté 4 nuits et facilement nous y serions resté plus longtemps. Si nous retournons au Maroc, c'est sur que nous passerons du temps à la Villa Amaryllis. Très belle rencontre.
