Post-Soviet ambiance. This place is great, huge, hulking facade, grim interior. Everything you want in Moldovan hotel.

It's a bit distant from the main square.

The hotel still retains the atmosphere of the Soviet Union days. The staff are friendly, the room is cleaned daily, hot water is abundant and reliable, the location is great for visiting Chisinau, and the price is excellent. Free guarded parking in the hotel's back yard, right under our balcony. Plus, the breakfast stuffed pancakes are to die for!

The 'double bed' was tiny and we wrestled for space the entire night. We couldn't sleep anyway, because the bed squeaked like it was going to break right under us, so we were reluctant to move. Sex is out of the question on that bed! The shower had no curtain, so every time we took a shower we flooded the bathroom. No hairdrier. Musty smell in the room and corridors.

If you feel the former-soviet style, here is the best place as I chose. I was scared when I got off the elevator, I didn't believe the ghost exist, though. Enjoy the "conserved" style. The only exception was that the staffs were friendly. They spoke OK English, and they arranged an excursion to Cricova. Even a service person elevator was so kind that he guided me a service elevator since the other elevators were under maintenance.

It said that Wifi was available only on the ground floor and a few selected floors. But the wifi on the ground floor was out of service when I tried.

The Staff was extremely helpful with everything : they helped us with the winery tour and to get tickets to a pop concert. The location is also good, close to the main street and the train station.

Rooms and other facilities (except bathroom) haven't been refreshed since Soviet times. For those, who haven't experienced that, it's worth seeing, why not in Chisinau.

The location was perfect, and so was the staff. I will use this hotel the next time I come to Kishinau. It is 10 minute walk to train station, there are 2 brand new shopping malls outside the front door of hotel, which is in the best spot in town, the start of "Stephan the great street." Is is north of Botanica district, south of citu\y center, all in walking distance. Hotel had everything, including a very helpful staff.

Rooms are soviet-style, but in fact it's not that bad since almost everything works, so who cares? Only to things were really bad: no shower mount on the wall and wi-fi working bad on the first day. But they fixed it!

Good value for money. Nice room; comfortable bed. Good breakfast. Very good location. Good and free wifi connection in the room. English speakers and helpful staff. I can recommend.

If you really want to travel back in time, this is the perfect opportunity to do so.

Bed was comfy; shower had hot water, sheets were clean, and it was very handy for the train station, which was why i booked it! Got a discount on my 2nd visit there as a valued guest, which was nice.Good security, staff always pleasent. Would recommend to train travellers as its just a 4 minute walk away!

there was a funny smell in the bathroom; after buying an air freshner from the local supermarket i had a lovely orange smelling loo! But, this is just me being a little bit fussy; afterall, you get what you pays for and 25 euro its good enough for a night or two!

Need new mattress, fumigation and complete renovation not part. A coffee maker would be nice in rooms.

Chisinau is a big city, but if you are not specially interested in the typical snowy picture I recommend to go in this city between March and October. It will be warmer.

Its close to the railway station and the city center. They have free wifi and the rooms are good for the price. I booked a single room but when I arrived I was put into a much bigger room with a living room so I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is an old soviet hotel.
