Our room had a balcony, so we could have our own breakfast looking at the sea. The owners were very kind and the food served in their restaurant was delicious. Location was great, but it is a little far away from the Old Town of Kotor. It,s a lovely place to walk.
location was great near the sea but a little far away from old town 3 kilometers i think ,clean rooms, great staff and good quality of foods
Breath-taking views from apartment windows - right at the water's edge with Kotor Village right in front of you. Picture perfect. Property well looked after and good breakfast served. Decent value for money.
The owner does not communicate in anything but montenergin. And she does not even try to. Own transport is essential as property located some 2km from centre of Kotor village. Wifi did not work and room could have been cleaned better.
Kotor view was so great and the hotel is located to a nice place in kotor bay. you can swim just in front of the hotel.
Although there is a nice place to sit in front of the hotel which is being used by hotel as a restaurant it is not allowed to bring anything from outside (food and beverages). Prices of the hotel restaurant was more than average.
The staff was so friendly, food was delicious. There is a private beach in front of the hotel.
Our room was in road edge and we cannot sleep from the traffic noise.
We spent a very enjoyable five days in Villa Ferri. My wife and I travelled with our three month old baby and we were all made to feel very welcome. The guesthouse is located right on the waterfront offering spectacular views of the beautiful bay of Kotor. The food was delicious with the fish in particular a highlight. The family who ran the guesthouse had little English but they were all very friendly and we managed to get by despite the language barrier. The guesthouse is about a 45 minute walk away from the old town in Kotor although if you have small children it is probably best you get a taxi in (for €3) as the roads are very narrow and windy and not ideal for walking with a group of people. All in all I would recommend this guesthouse and hopefully we will return again some day.
The location on the bay is stunning and the ability to swim out front, relax on a lilo and on sunloungers was wonderful. The fresh fish and fish soup in the villa's restaurant was delicious.
We decided to book at Villa Ferri after much contemplation and reading many positive reviews - but we feel compelled to go against the flow of reviews and say that were very disappointed. Our experience was marred by a consistent lack of hospitality. The reviews had mentioned the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff but we found a just the opposite. Soon after we arrived we were severely reprimanded for using the wrong colour towel for a swim. Apparently the said towel was to be used as a blanket! It was an innocent mistake that despite our apologies was met by a fairly hostile and unforgiving response. Simple requests such as what was on the menu and where to rent kayaks seemed to be an imposition and were often greeted with a shrug of shoulders and turn of backs. The younger woman (daughter?) seemed to display a permanent frown and the older woman was equally impatient at times. Apart from the woman we met when we first arrived noone could speak English. We understand that the younger daughter was getting married on the following weekend and perhaps her absence and her ability to speak English was the missing ingredient. Nonetheless it was hard to understand why the staff displayed such poor body language and communication skills - shrugging and walking away in mid sentence means the same in any language. It wouldn't have been too hard nor would it require any language skills to be made feel welcome, to have our smiles and greetings returned, apologies accepted and it certainly would have made a huge difference to our experience. Equally a few instructions and some brochures of the marvelous region wouldn't go astray. In such a beautiful peaceful location it's just a pity that at least during the time we were there, there wasn't the usual level of service as reported in the ratings and reviews.
The owner/manager is a fantastic person and she went out of her way to be helpful and kind. The chef knows what she's doing because the food was delicious. The view is simply stunning. Waking up with the sun's rays bouncing off the bay into our window was lovely. Eating breakfast overlooking the Bay of Kotor, going for a morning dip was also sublime. And you can't beat eating mussels fresh from the bay that you just watched being pulled out in a net. Get it... it's all about the Bay and the people that run this place. It's lovely. Paradisaical in fact. The old town of Kotor is a tourist trap. Overcrowded and absolutely nowhere to park your car late at night. Avoid the old town and stay out here and you will fall in love with (or at) the place :)
Wifi is weak and the coffee was just OK. I think the espresso was passable but the latte or Turkish-style coffee were not great. That's really the only things I can fault the place for. Otherwise perfect.
Authentic, charming and welcoming! The food was wonderful, the staff extremely helpful and the view across the bay to Kotor was simply stunning.
The narrow road leading to the Apartment was quite a hair raising experience to drive along with the locals (in a hire car with a huge insurance cover excess) ! We managed it safely enough!
Overall Villa Ferri is a lovely little family-run hotel and a great place to stay. The location right on the bay of Kotor is fantastic, guaranteeing guests brilliant views, whether they be sunbathing in the hotels private beach area or eating on the hotel's bayside patio. Furthermore, the seafood they serve in the restaurant is excellent. The owners and staff were very friendly, particulalrly Ana who speaks excellent english and was very helpful. The hotel also put us in contact with a tour guide, Nico, who organised a really great tour to Skaddar lake for us and told us so much about the history of Montenegro.
While we really enjoyed our stay at Villa Ferri, we somehow felt that we were charged a bit too much for room, particuarly the breakfast.
I liked their hospitality/sea view/
I did not like that they don`t have espresso coffee/toasted bread/wrong meat on the menu/it would have been much better if all staff spoke English
Owners :) Beautiful and genorous people. Place is close to paradise.
Wonderful peaceful location run by a very friendly family. Excellent food at good prices, comfortable beds,. Great value for money..hope to return there one day
We have just had a 3 night stay at Villa Ferri and loved every moment of it. Our room with the balcony overlooking the bay of Kotor was lovely and very comfortable. This is a small family run hotel with a restaurant with the most delicious food cooked by the husband/father. The hotel is approx 2kms from the old town of Kotor and an easy flat walk. Great wifi. We loved the room, the idyllac location, the food and the lovely friendly family at Villa Anri. The memory of the stay will remain with us for a long time.
Nothing to dislike.
The hosts were wonderful and kind. Room was perfect - clean and comfortable with a stunning view. The food in the restaurant was incredible.
We were met in the driveway by the engaging Tonka who greeted us with a warm smile & instantly made us feel at home. Within moments staff arrived to take care of our luggage & assist with locating to our room. Our apartment was spotlessly clean & surpassed our (high) expectations & I especially appreciated the beautiful fresh flowers & bottle of wine awaiting us. I cannot fault a thing about our stay here. The staff were charming & professional & when we requested room service meals they promptly set our outdoor tables with cloths & cutlery so we could dine while enjoying the magnificent view.
If one has a mobility issue then the stairs may be of concern. Frankly though I appreciated the work out to help balance my over indulgence of the delicious food & drink!
The place was wonderful, the location is perfect with an extraordinary view of the Kotor Bay, the hospitality was great
