Hotel Polar Star  

The hotel is completely in the nature but it is very easy to be found. It is in the main road that goes to Zabljak, in the village of Borje, at less than 5 minutes of car before the city. The structure is completely new, clean and friendly. The buffet breakfast is rich and good, and you can have a buffet dinner for 8 euros drinks excluded (we recommend to have the dinner in the hotel, it's cheap but very good and you can choose between several dishes with open buffet). Our apartment was well furnished also in the kitchen.

It is a bit expensive but if you can effort the cost don't look for other hotels because Polar Star is perfect. One small suggestion: in the hotel there are not maps with the trekking routes of the region. You can buy them in the city or you can visit the information center were you can get some free map with less details. It would be good to have the possibility to buy them directly in the hotel in a case that you plan to start your trekking early in the morning.

Good location, nice view

We booked a 3-person bedroom and got a great duplex apartment with kitchen and living-room, all for 76 €. We had access to the sauna/hammam. The staff is super friendly, especially the receptionnist who was so happy to practice her French.

We did not actually mind that but it is a pity that the finishing touch of the room seems to have been butchered.

We had a large comfortable apartment with a living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom, all for 70€. The mountains and park were breathtaking, and the air clean and quiet.

Attractive hotel, clean. Comfortable lounge, good dining room. Excellent breakfast. Very inexpensive buffet dinners. Close to hiking trails, lake walks.

not well educated employees (i.e. english speaking), bad food (breakfast and dinner buffet) no service for booking activities, etc.. very small and not properly working spa area, not well located (5 km out of the city center) and no infrastructure around the hotel

We liked smiley stuff of the hotel, they're friendly and kind. Also we liked a dog, Simba. He was superb! Silence and beauty all around, also we liked that fact that this hotel was far enough from the Zabljak.

Maybe the stuff of the hotel should improve their english

Very comfortable and very good value for money. Facilities were excellent.

Too far out from Zabljak. When bookinfg had put in Zabljak and this hotel came up when in fact it was not in Zabljak at all, it was a fair bit outside it.

The hotel is lovely, we were upgraded from a room to a kind of suite - and we enjoyed the decor as well as the comfort. The price was really good for a hotel like that.

The only problem we had was that there was no hot water on the upper floor so we were moved to a lower floor.

The hotel is out of the city, our room did not have a balcony. It is funny that there is a huge TV in the apartment and the room is decorated nicely, but on the other hand the bathroom is very simple. Breakfast was ok, but if you arrive after 8:30 do not expect to see much food on the plates.

It was a lovely-looking hotel, with stylish modern furnishings but quite a traditional design, so a nice combination of new and old. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the dinner, which was a buffet both nights we were there, was tasty (without being top class, gourmet food) and very good value at 8 euros per person.

The location was the only downside - despite its address being Zabljak, it's actually several km from the town and requires a 5 euro taxi ride to get there. So, not ideal for those without their own car. There was no bath, which is a shame as nothing beats soaking in a hot tub after a hard day in the mountains.

The room was very large and comfortable. Bathroom is accessorised and clean.

In the first evening there wasn't water, the hotel staff told me that it is quite usual in autumn for problem in the local aqueduct.

This hotel was a real disappointment. The apartment we rented was incredibly dark and cramped. The bed sheets didn't fit on the bed and we found hairs everywhere on the mattress. The toilet flush was broken too. The breakfast is one of the worst I have ever experienced. What there was of the buffet was stone cold and I had to ask for some hot coffee since the coffee and tea supplied was cold too. The staff made you feel like an inconvenience, the waiters much more concerned with enjoying a cigarette outside rather than actually serving customers. The resident dog barked for much of the night keeping us awake. For the price we paid, this was a real let down. There are many better places to stay in the area: had we been staying for more than one night, we'd have moved. Save your money and stay elsewhere.

comfortable and friendly

Excellent stay. We were upgraded to one of the chalets ........ very spacious with huge flat screen television. Enjoyed a good buffet evening meal ........ great value for money. Quiet, peaceful location. Plenty of space in hotel grounds for young children to play. A great spot for a short stay.

It is located in countryside 4km from Zabljak center. For those who like hiking or for the families with small children. A friendly staff and good food choices.

Bel agencement des chambres et bel aménagement intérieur. Dans l'ensemble, hotel confortable, et très bien tenu. Le bâtiment est relativement bien situé, même s'il aurait pu être beaucoup mieux intégré au paysage

Please stop the music in the restaurant !!! Le restaurant est un self très approximatif (à éviter !). Bien sur, des HP de qualité médiocre difuse de la musique plus ou moin sirupeuse du matin au soir. Le personnel de service de ce restaurant ne parle pas l'anglais, c'est difficile de dialoguer si on ne parle pas serbo-croate. Comme souvent, la plomberie est approximative. Attention, des chalets de location pousse tout autour de l'hotel, façon "village des schtroumpfs" ! Please stop the music in the restaurant !!!

Lovely Alpine setting. We booked one bed apartment which was very spacious, with well equipped kitchen, a lovey seating area with a massive tv. Friendly staff, free wifi in the bar/restaurant area. Food was good there. Hotel is in a village outside of Zabiliak about 5 mins drive we had a car so it was no problem.

Our double bed was two single beds pushed together which we found annoying but other than that it was fab room

Sve je bilo super.Ljubazno osoblje,odlicna domaca hrana i raznovrsna,cisto, topla atmosfera.Djeca su se fino provela u igraonicu.Svi smo zadovoljni,doci cemo opet.
