Score from 195 reviews Very good
I loved the villa and the large patio
Dirty old room; cockroaches
Booked a twin room but was given a double and a put up bed. Staff very reluctant to change without argument
walking proximity to the beach, lovely pool and dinner area, near great restaurants
wi fi is only in the dining area and pool
the great Plantation Cafe, the restaurant staff, especially Anna!
The view from our room (881) was stunning and the balcony was heavenly in the morning. The lobster dinner on Monday night is not to be missed. The proximity to the shops, restaurants and beach was great!
Wifi is spotty but that can be good if you're on vacation. It is a large conplex and very spread out. The bar hours do not lend themselves to wanting to swim at the pool.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Had a room with a view - but it was a 10 minute walk up the hill every time you wanted to go back and forth to your room.
very nice location
Very well located within walking distance of Orient Bay Beach & Beach restaurants. Secure area. Staff is very friendly & will help you rent car or call cab if you want to go explore the rest of the island. Breakfast is good, served in the hotel restaurant every morning. The hotel is actually a collection of cute guest houses. You will have your own private house with parking spot & amazing views of the ocean.
Location - 2 min walk to the beach Free breakfast buffet Free chairs/umbrella (savings $10/day pp) Free welcome drinks (rum punch) Free cable Dinner at the restaurant was great! Had fish with passion fruit sauce. No more pricy then the rest of the island. Rooms were super clean and nice products, body wash and lotion, for complimentary use which were available for purchase. Huge terrace.
Only wish the bed was one full or queen size instead of two singles. Would definitely go back though!!
The staff couldn't do enough to make our stay perfect. The included breakfast was fresh cut fruit, extremely fresh basket of French pastries/croissants, fresh juices, eggs and more. Beach chairs and umbrellas were included and available at various parts of the beach.
The view was spectacular from the mid-priced villas. The walk up the hill was hard at the end of a long beach day. No big deal, though.
We really enjoyed out stay at Hotel La Plantation and would recommend it to anyone who wanted to be close to the action, but wanted a place to come back to relax. The breakfast was very good, the staff were outgoing and helpful. Try their homemade rum, it's great! The room we stayed in didn't have a great view, but it was relaxing atmosphere out on the private porch. You are about a 7 minute walk from the beach with tons of bars and places to eat drink and eat.
If you like to hit beach clubs, and don't mind a slightly crowded beach, then this area is good for you. We really didn't have any issues, but prefer ourselves a more quiet area to vacation. So this is not a knock on the hotel, but rather St. Martin itself.
The location and the view are outstanding, just a few minutes fro the beach.
The breakfast gets old pretty fast, the same thing every day, and there never seems to be enough coffee.
Beautiful villas, beautiful grounds, incredible view, butterflies everywhere, friendly staff (mostly), great restaurant at the Hotel but the best is the close proximity to Orient Bay!!!
Poor WiFi, and occasionally grumpy staff.
Staff was generally nice, spacious cottage
Overprized, needs renovation and re-decoration, poor kitchen supplies
Great location, next to Orient Beach, beautiful vegetation, very spacious studios, bungalows divided into three units offering semi-private living space, could be great for families renting more than one unit or the entire bungalow. Very quiet place, that is also supposed to be safe. Gated community with regular security patrols.
Buildings need a paint job, especially the bathrooms are a bit rundown, toilet flush, etc broken. Rates are high compared to the quality of other four star hotels on the island. You pay for the location, i.e. five minutes walk to Orient Beach. For practical purposes there is no internet connection. The exception is the central office building area, but even there the brandwith is very limited, good only for reading your mail. Breakfast is very poor, the same limited food every day, a good three star hotel would offer more.
Location Resturant Room Veranda View
My room had a great wide porch with a spectacular view. The French doors opened wide & I got lots of fresh breeze all day & when I was up at night. The walk was not bad & I was near the shortcut to the beach & the Village restaurants. Ceiling fan was just right when it got stuffy. The billing arrangement with 5 beach restaurants was just right -- I had a choice each time I wanted to eat & didn't have to lug money with me.
The only problem was having to lug my laptop to the office for WIFi. That meant no Internet at night & it cut into my beach time.
The hotel's location; it's proximity to beaches and restaurants. The facilities' villas and beautiful settings. The polite, friendly and helpful front desk personnel.
The mosquitos inside the room and the ants infestation at the front door. Guests having to spray constantly to control these pests does not make for a good vacation experience.
Beautiful windy beach. Fantastic restaurant across the street Great and friendly service
No lunch service No Wi-Fi in room Bed was hard
I liked that it was a little cottage
European outlets only! Outdated, spiders and mosquitoes in room. Door is opened and locked from inside by key.
secure and convenient location in one of the best parts of the island
rather Spartan breakfast - the same every day which became boring. The hotel is feeling a bit tired and probably needs some investment
excellent breakfast near wonderfull beach spacious and clean room and veranda big swimmingpool
no internet in de room we had to pay 80€ for a fish (of the day) in a collaborating restaurant at the beach (Coco?), which was a rather unpleasant surprise. The fish was excellent though.
Our suite was very spacious with a nice kitchenette and a big refrigerator. All in all the suite was very comfortable (with king size bed) but quite worn out. Great view from the balcony. Breakfast buffet offered a good variety (much better than usual French breakfast). Nice restaurant staff. Nice pool. Beachchairs and umbrellas for free at Waikiki Beach and other parts of Orient Bay. Not located directly at the beach, but just a 5-min. walk.
The furniture is really outdated. Bathroom very small. Bathroom equipment was ok but should get a facelift as well. The kitchen equipment was really bad. Had to ask for a screwdriver, no bottle opener, cutlery very old and far less than basic. Just 2 boards, 2 knifes, a rusty pan etc. The kitchen furniture looks nice and spacious on the pictures but use is very limited due to lack of reasonable equipment. Nothing provided for hanging and drying wet swim-wear (except balcony furniture).
The room was huge and since it's on a hill the view was beautiful.
It was a bit of a hike to town and the beach, but it was manageable.
