Room and its location. Awful!

Location. Beautiful views. Breakfast served poolside. Nice, uncrowded pool. Flowers in room upon arrival. Friendly staff. Quiet and private.

No water service first night there. No wi-fi in room. Wi-fi down everywhere for awhile. Not enough cutlery provided in the kitchenette. No sharp knife provided.

Newly updated room from the last time we were there. Great view from our room. Great staff. Good value,

Could use more light in the bedroom. We moved a lamp from the living to the bedroom. Instructions on how to use the new stove top.

Friendly and helpful staff. Nice pool, good breakfest. The whole area is very stylish. Rent a car availability right at the reception desk.

Everything was great! The staff were all exceptional.the suite was enormous and very clean! The view of the ocean was spectacular!

The reception staff were very welcoming. We received a free upgrade to a suite connecting to a companion couple's studio. The accommodation was spacious and attractive. The view over the bay from the large terrace was excellent. Cleaning was thorough.

Lack of wifi in the apartments (only in the reception complex). Breakfast could have been improved by some bacon.

A relaxed, smaller hotel. A 4 min walk from Orient Bay. Helpful and friendly staff. A good Breakfast, fresh water melon and fruit salad and a delicious apple purée. We also had a couple of dinners at the hotel and they were very good as well. Free wifi connection in reception and around the pool. Good parking. We stayed for 9 days and felt very relaxed and would stay there again if we return to St Maarten.

Our room was a little bit 'tired'. Our friend stayed in another room and although adequate was also a bit tired. Our terrace lights and front door light did not work. After a couple of requests, the front door light was replaced but not the terrace light.

Beautiful view, pretty rooms, nice pool, good food.

With a few exceptions, the staff was not friendly and helpful. We had no hot water when we arrived, and had to wait two days to be fixed and were told we could shower in a different building when they should have just moved our room. Water was shut off in our building multiple times due to some sort of damage that needed fixing. We were lied to being told that there was an island wide water outage, however noticed that other places not too far had water and also saw one of the groundskeepers watering plants with a hose! They finally came to fix the water problem..the morning we were leaving. The resort is advertised as a quiet place, however every afternoon the beach down the hill had their music blasting so loud it sounded like we were down there partying with them. It would last well into the evening hours. I also think they should invest in a few extra internet routers and place then throughout the resort providing WiFi to all of the buildings. In this age if technology (and how much they charge to stay here) you should not have to walk over and sit in the office to use your mobile devices. The housekeeping staff only swept the room once while we were there and they never took our recyling bottles when they cleaned. They sat there the whole two weeks. They also never changed our dish towel. I had to wash it by hand every other night. The kitchen is pretty and convienient, however poorly stocked. (Example: only one steak knife, no bowls) Finally, they keep their beach towels at the front desk. You are to trade in your old towels for fresh ones before you go out for the day. There were multiple times that there were no clean towels to trade. They claimed their laundry hasn't come in yet. They would tell us to either reuse our dirty towels or take our bath towels. Once they even were giving out bath towels instead of beach towels.

Nice environment, good rate of price and value.

Tennis court is closed, because it is unusable for playing.

That you needed a key to lock / unlock all doors from the inside (dangerous if an emergency, a hassle otherwise); the poor quality of the wifi; only provided one bottle of water over 5 night stay.

The room had a wonderful view to the sea, the hotel grounds are well landscaped and the small buildings are pleasant.

The beds are lumpy and uncomfortable, no internet access in the rooms, the breakfast was mediocre.

Very good value, very clean room, friendly and responsive staff, great view of Orient Beach and the nearby islands .Also a very nice breakfast.

The nice flowers and plants attracted mosquitoes

The room was very comfortable, we had a suite, and is located very near to the beautiful Orient beach on the french side of the island where you can get free beach chairs from a choice of 3 beach restaurants, courtesy of the hotel. The hotel staff are very helpful and friendly, and there is facility for car rental on the premises (car rental is a must). The food served at the restaurant is delicious if you choose to stay in to dine and offers a nice variety.

Absolutely a fantastic value compared to others, plus it included free beach chairs at 5 beaches and free breakfast. We figured that to come to approximately 44.00 US dollars per day just for that.. Our friends were staying at different places, and after seeing our place at La Plantation, they vowed to stay at La Plantation next time. It was great to be able to cook basic meals there, we shopped for food at the US market, which was closely . Saved so much money doing that. We were so lucky to meet Natalie at the reception office, she could set up anything for us, helped us get our battery in the car restarted, moved our room for us, and is very informative. Can't say enough about about La Platation. We booked there due to the reviews we saw here, would definitely stay there again.

I found so many things from other people in my room. They don't clean very well the bedrooms.

Excellent location for the beach and water sports (training and renting equipment). Good variety of restaurants within walking distance. The accommodation was quiet and peaceful. The pool was a good size and very clean. Breakfast had good variety of choices. Waiting staff and hotel staff very professional and helpful.

Wi-fi connection was poor in the room but excellent at the reception area. My only 'complaint' would be the water pressure in the shower in my room but that didn't take away from a very pleasant vacation.

I was very pleased with this hotel/villa property. I was upgraded upon arrival to a superior villa with a breathtaking view of the beach and beautiful island landscape. My room was spacious, and clean and I enjoyed the decor and the rain shower. Be prepared to do some walking up and down some hills if your villa is not located near the lobby area. The beach is a straight one road walk as well. You have charging abilities at the 5 beaches along Orient Bay including the restaurants and shops too. You also have 2 beach chairs and an umbrella included as well. The french side of the island is amazing, best beaches and restaurants are available, however, everything is very expensive, but there is a village nearby, another long walk from hotel, with a market/grocery store and a tobacco shop and a wonderful restaurant too. A full breakfast is included with the price of your room, it was plentiful and you can make sandwiches for the day if you want to. Loved the basket of fresh croissants and baguettes! There was a blackout while I was there, and as a solo traveler was quite frightened, but this seems to be common on the island as well so be prepared for that as a possibility. TV was available and I did not have bugs/mosquitoes in my room bed is netted!! Enjoy, I did, so relaxing and peaceful, great place for some downtime. There was some loud music from the beach in the evenings if you sit out on your spacious veranda/patio and want to listen to that. Another long walk to be part of the party people. Loved this place and will be back. If you go, you will enjoy if you want to just have serenity and great food and beaches.

The staff was always helpful. The rooms are very authentic and comfortable. The location is short, with a nice natural feeling and an excellent view of both the ocean and the hillside. Would suggest this location for a young adventurous people that want an island-like experience.

The location was fantasic. The views from the huge balcony were just perfect. On arrival we were upgraded to a suite, this was amazing. Huge in size and beautifully appointed. The breakfast area/bar around the pool was beautiful. The staff were really helpful and cheerful. Absolutely fantastic and we hope to return. Thank you.
