Excellent beach and facilities, friendly hotel staff and spacious room. Choice of excellent lunch and dining alternatives in Anse Marcel.
nice quiet room , nicely decorated
heavy sliding door , older people can not open it. and i did sprain my sholder by opening it. my mother hit her head on the headboard of the bed , it is to low
The room was comfortable
Lack of hot water for tub. Cigarette buts in the grass out our back pattio
great value. Not high end exclusive but very pleasant. Excellent staff. Great pool and right next to beach. Very easy for families with kids and so glad we went to the French side.
No bad experience. Wifi isn't great.
Nicest beach on island, very helpful staff, rooms very comfortable, lovely grounds... all in all lovely vaca and great value.
Hotel somewhat short-staffed, wasn't a big issue for us
View from room, room decor
No real Wi-Fi in room. Need go to hotel lobby where connection is great.
No WiFi connection in room and had to go to the Reception Area to access the internet.
the wifi and the bed
This once was a fantastic hotel worthy of it's 4 star rating. It is still clean, with lovely gardens that are coming back after last falls hurricane. It is older and in need of some repair which they seem to be doing albeit slowly. You still get the amenities in the room that we are all looking for ie safe, double sinks, hair dryer, magnifying mirror, iron, refrig, large balcony, So maybe older and no longer pristine, but great for the price and beautiful beach
The bathtub is in the main bedroom and it has a hand held shower within the round bathtub, which has 3 steps up to it. It is a bit of a challenge to shower, and I would prefer the bath in a bathroom.
The property grounds were beautiful and well maintained, the staff was very helpful and attentive.
There were a swarm of ants in our bathroom, but the staff came and cleaned it up after asking.
Loved the beach front, very private and remote.
Don't plan on getting any work done, which you shouldn't on vacation anyway. The WIFI connection was horrible.
Very little, only positive was that they had a beach
Where do I start, when we arrived there was nobody at reception and we were left standing around for 10 minutes, we turned up at 8pm on a Saturday. Throughout our stay the hotel was horrendously understaffed and there was numerous occasions where there was nobody on reception when we needed someone. In our room we had a bath, which we were unable to fill more than one third with hot water as the water tank for each room only gives you 50 litres of hot water, the fact there was a bath was one of a few reasons I had booked this hotel. In addition, when you use the shower expect to completely soak the surrounding floor with water as there is no way to keep the shower water in the bath. Our bath towels were so small they barely wrapped around us. In our room, we were given an assortment of glasses, all varying sizes and most of them plastic, when we asked to get some champagne flutes and an ice bucket, these were not available and I stead were given 2 plastic flutes. Sometimes our glasses were washed in our room other times they were not. According to this website and the hotel's own website, there is a swimming pool available - there is not, just a big hole in the ground and a sign saying that the pool is under reconstruction, by the looks of it nothing has been done to that pool in months. The maintenance of the hotel has not been looked after as there is a number of lights out, broken window shutters and even a smashed mirror. We were told we could not use the car park outside our room because that was for the private residents of the building next to us, this building was part of the resort. We were expecting to have WIFI available to us in our room, unfortunately it does not work in the building we were in. We were told it only works in a few places, the best place been by reception, another inconvenience.
We had a delightful 2 week stay at Le Domaine. Our room had been completely renovated. The mattress was firm and comfortable. The free-wifi worked well in the room. The outside balcony was large with beautiful views. The maid service cleaned the room promptly every morning. The exteriors of the buildings show signs of age and are in need of work. The current owners are renovating the resort to bring it back to its original glory. During the renovations they are charging extremely low room rates. The pool is currently closed and looks to me that its renovations will take a while. The gardens are beautiful and are very well maintained. Breakfast was excellent as was the service and the friendly, competent staff – the setting overlooking the beach and the sea is to die for. The beach is beautiful – a large cove surrounded by mountains on three sides – perhaps the most beautiful spot in all of Saint Martin. A plentiful supply of beach towels was provided every morning. Padded beach lounges and umbrellas were provided at no extra cost. There is also a water activities facility on the beach. The staff at the front desk was very competition, friendly, and helpful. The manager, Victoire, was dedicated to making sure we were comfortable and happy with every aspect of our stay. The friendliness and competence off all the staff – not only at the front desk, but also the ladies who cleaned the rooms, the restaurant staff, and the beach staff really helped make our stay extra pleasant. Le Domaine is a quiet, unpretentious, beautiful resort still in need of further renovation. Due to fact that renovations are underway, the price charged is extremely low. We were very happy with the beautiful renovated room, with a great breakfast, with service that aimed to please, with the lovely, well-maintained gardens, and with the wonderful beach.
Beautiful grounds, good room.
Very remote and far from the airport (45 min). Very poor restaurant, with very, very poor staff.
Peeling buildings and closed restaurants; few towels for the beach; poor lighting at night as many bulbs needed replacing.
the bed. And beach
I had to hold the shower head to take a shower the holder was missing, and my tv stop working during the NFL playoff and my tead was playing and I didn't get to see them play and I did I not get another tv until the next afternoon bad business
Staff didn't know what time breakfast was served . Pool has been in maintainance for a very long time, when checked we asked where the pool was, lady said its not working, so we asked if it would work the following day and she said "maybe"- bigger lie ever!!! We looked at the pool and it has not been working for a while
Service was silly Facilities were silly I would have been happy here if I was traveling during college with guy friends. Otherwise, organization made little effort to contribute to a relaxing expierence.
Place was super busy but also super quiet. Well maintained and would definitely stay again.
If it weren't for my wife stealing towels from maid carts for new guests, we would have been without a day or two. Also the staff isn't very ambitious and if they are gone I would recommend answering their phone when people call or the beach where they hang out. Peace and quiet, nice beach $100/night !? Can't really complain.
The location is fantastic, the beach is awesome and the hotel is beautiful just a little aged. We were upgraded after complaining for two days and the room was real nice. The hotel itself and the grounds are breathtaking, if you plan on driving out to dinner, and exploring this is a great place.
The staff is not real helpful after hours, most of the staff speaks French only, but during the 8:30 - 5:30 they are helpful. The room we were first in had no a/c, fridge didn't work, phone didn't work, tv had no remote and picture was blah. The restaurant on the property was over priced and not really good.
Great beachfront location
Pool under repair
Beach sun scent
Everything concerning to hotel
The few staff remaining were wonderful. Extremely helpful and sincerely nice people. But they are so under staffed! I feel so bad for Them ( I heard that manning of the previous staff abrubtly quit and that the present staff are new and just trying to stop the ship from sinking.
To few staff, no towels at the beech. The swimming poll is destroyed and now an abandoned hole in the middle of the propert. Lack of general upkeep in the property in general. I am wondering what the owner is doing and thinking?
