Score from 68 reviews Very good
Bed not great and pillows are worse. Even in the larger rooms not much in the way of places to put clothes, bags, etc. Occasional difficulties not being a French speaker but this is to be expected. WiFi was pretty useless but not a problem if you buy a local sim card as 3G reception is not too bad.
Top notch restaurant, nice view if you get a room on an upper level, staff usually willing to help. Clean, if a little sparse, rooms with a good built in safe. Will stay there again when I return.
wifi signal strenght was poor in the room
Room, bed, location, staff,restauran, price
poor wifi coverage in room
Very nice restaurant, friendly staff, good prices
Travelling solo can be scary, but when I got to la ribaudiere the staff was exceptionally kind making me feel safe and right at home. The food is amazing, the hotel is beautiful and the rooms are warm and comfortable!
Capital city antanarivo. I didn't feel safe on the street.
Secured hotel with nice staff. Safe, secured hotel in the middle of nowhere. Staff waited for us until midnight when we are come from airport.
Only complaint is that the wifi doesn't reach the rooms. You have to go down to the bar to use it. Otherwise great stay!
This hotel is just out of the downtown area on a quite street. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel is very comfortably and nicely decorated. I also had dinner twice in the restaurant and it was delicious both times. It's also very secure. I felt safe there.
Our shower was a bit broken
Super friendly and helpful staff, delicious food and good price, great location, great value for money
The pillows and beds were horrible. English is not well understood. It is very far away from the airport - about 45 mins to an hour depending on traffic. It does not offer a view of anything.
It was small and friendly. The food was excellent. Close to the main market - within walking distance. Has free wifi.
clean, friendly, helpful, delicious food, very competitive price, secure, good location in heart of city
First morning we stayed: there was no breakfast left. Just cake and coffee.
Charming little hotel, good food and nice & shady patio to have a drink. Helpful staff.
The rooms in the annex had a bit of a mosquito problem, the ones above the restaurant where much nicer.
The restaurant is good, the location great and the rooms fine. The owner was very friendly and some of the staff speak English.
noisy, small room, not up to standard in Tana
good location, good restaurant
Sometimes staff a bit aloof; but maybe language issue.
Position & fantastic driver (Sam) who picked us up & took us around.
The location was excellent for us as the hotel is very centrally located near the bank, post office, the local market and lots of restaurants. Also the airport shuttle bus dropped us off right outside the entrance.
Staff were very helpfull
Would be good to see what tourist attractions are available locally.
The staff were lovely!!!
It's a very simple place with small rooms but good for the price.
Is not exactly an hotel. There's a restaurant and in the other side of the street, they have some apartments they rent.
Very cheap, considering condittions.
Room #3 was tiny. Not much of a view. On the other hand, you didn't go to Tana to spend all your time in your hotel room, did you?
Good location, 3km from Rova and steps to Ave de Lindependence, good coffee, quiet. Staff smoothed our way to a 4AM departure and ride to Ivato airport. Cheap. Wifi unrestricted. State of the art walk in shower. Staff tolerant of gringos speaking French.
No phones. Heavy smoking in the bar may waste your night in the rooms above.
The owner is extremely correct and helpful
a lot of stairs up to my room,
Nice garden where you can eat, a lot of travellers, good food, nice rooms and good showers,
The room was a bit small and a weird shape and the bathroom a bit claustrophobic as it was so small, narrow and tiled in black. The window was overlooked so needed a blind or nets. The bar could do with more comfy seats.
The wifi connection was good and staff were very helpful. I ate there both nights and the food was really excellent, amongst the best I have had in Madagascar.
a couple of power outages in town provided lack of wi-fi, but this wasn't fault of the hotel. i wished they could manage to arrange airport transportation (taxi's around aren't very good)
it was a great place to stay, really safe and clean. the restaurant also is really good, a bit overpriced compared to other places around, but at least is really safe for foreign stomachs.
A handy city centre location. Comfortable with hot water. Staff stayed up to let me in at 03.00 when my flight was delayed. Can organise airport transfers for Ar50,000 (£12). I didn't eat hear but the restaurant looked quite posh and was very popular with expats and wealthy locals.
