Nothing - everything perfect
We stopped off at Holliday Han on our way to Greece for our summer holiday. In short, excellent staff, rooms, cleanliness, parking and location!
The staff were incredibly helpful and hospitable. They were very welcoming and chatty and only too ready to help carry suitcases to our rooms and recommend an excellent nearby restaurant for an evening meal.
The twin room with its own bathroom was very clean and had ample space for a baby cot, while the double room with the shared bathroom was huge with a massive double bed. The air conditioning worked really well and, despite it being a weekend, there was no noise from the cafe on the corner opposite. We were a bit unsure about the shared bathroom, but we had no need to worry - it was incredibly clean and very large. Few of the rooms actually 'share' the bathroom so there wasn't a queue to use it!
We also had the use of a shared kitchen, which was excellent for keeping our food refrigerated for our onward journey and also for making tea and coffee.
Our main fear when sharing a room with our young children (aged 1, 3 and 6) is that we have to be silent as soon as they are asleep. However, at Holliday Han, there is a huge sitting room/common room just outside the door to the rooms, meaning we could chat and relax while being just a step away from the kids.
The owner and his son, who speaks excellent English, sat with us in the evening, meaning we felt more like we were at a friend's place than in guest accommodation.
In the morning, they offered to go and get us breakfast from a nearby baker's, and we set off to the Macedonian/Greek border (a 5 minute drive away) feeling refreshed and very happy!
Overall, a brilliant discovery and we will certainly stay again as a stop over on our way to Greece.
