1, Finding it......seems simple except that ALL over the city there are signs lit up directing you to the hotel, except the signs are for a branch of the Stone Bridge Hotel (a new establishment not yet open). We parked up in the suggested hotel parking (by the signs), then walked around for 20 minutes with our luggage trying to find hotel reception within the shopping Centre it was in. We gave up and rang hotel who said we were at wrong side of town. We then put GPS on and ignored the hundreds of signs to hotel and eventually got to correct hotel. After a 5 hour Drive to Skopje we were very unhappy with false advertising to hotel.
2, Staff, on arrival the reception staff were very rude telling us it was our own fault that we followed the signs instead of our GPS. A simple apology from them for the confusion might have eased our stress but instead they chose to be rude about it.
3, Parking, Hotels own website claims Private hotel parking....this doesn't exist. However they told us we could park anywhere nearby and they gave us a paper to place into window of car to allow hotel parking. This was fine until at breakfast the next morning we saw from the window, a tow truck lifting and taking away cars parked on the road opposite hotel, even the ones with the paper in window. We ran outside immediately along with other hotel guests to move car, telling staff on route. The staff took our keys and moved our car for us into a private carpark below hotel which we were previously told was closed and not for hotel guests.
4, Breakfast, just a minor negative, the choice was limited but this is normal for Eastern Europe, we were not happy though with the Quality...the eggs were old and cold, the bread was very stale ( hard like rock) and the salad was gone off...several days old by the look of it. Disappointing.
The hotel was perfect and our stay should have been perfect too, but it wasn't (see negatives). Location great, hotel beautiful and room was great.
I'm sure if we stayed here again then it would be perfect next time, it was just bad luck this time.
