Score from 11 reviews Good
I didn't like the staff. In all myanmar the people are very kind, but in this hotel the staff was rude
I enjoyed the buffet-style breakfast, it is very nice.
I booked a double room and room is very small, almost not enough space for walking. For a short distance from the bed to the bathroom, my toes kicked the sharp corner of the furniture a couple of times. It is also time to give the interior of the bedroom a fresh coat of paint.
Breakfast was allways cold, it was not enough for everybody, room and bedroom are in bad condition.
Poor conditions compared with other south east asia hotels
Location. Bed was clean
1 Bad smell in bahtroom. 2 Toilet bowl is not stable 3 Glass window in the bathroom is broken. They used toilet paper and seal with tape. 4 Bedroom floor was dirty cement and no slipper in the bedroom. 5 Air-Condition is not cool and water is leaking from it.
Location is nice
Huge moisture in room as bathroom is actually in it (wall does not go all the way to ceiling). Not possible to bread normally during night even with AC on. Believe it or not but during my stay monks from pagoda near accomodation were singing 24 hours constantly(!!!) and it was broadcasted through speakers. Next night music from local "disco" kept me awake instead. We rented electronic bikes for sightseeing which was great, but at the end one of the bikes has been broken but they charged us full price without excuse. They can charge room through credit cards but only in "special cases". Do not book taxi for airport or trips on reception as they charge much higher than it's on the street.
Spiderwebs everywhere in the room.
Good location and nice breakfast.
Perfect English speaking, but rude receptionist. Didn't get a room we had booked, despite we payed all the price immediately we arrived and they had already reserved money, which were kept and nor released more than 2 weeks after. We got a small and dirty one for the same price. We were accused of the late arrival (we came by slow boat). I hope it was an individual case.
Leaving the hotel and the possibility to rent ebikes
2000 kyat for wifi that doesnt work Hi price for what you get The condition of the rooms and the site looks like:"the guests are coming anyway so why should we maintenance the hotel."
Nyaung O is the best location where to stay in Bagan area, and the hotel is in a good position
The bathroom is "in" the room, with glass looking at beds, and the upper wall opened, so to hear and smell... the drain was smelling bad as you opened water.
Location, staff were very friendly and spoke good English
Good location, helpful staffs, comfort bed.
Easily hear the noise of next room.
The staff very friendly and helpful. We are ever so thankful to the front desk as they helped get out of a sticky situation. Wonderful people.
Too many bugs in the room and bathroom. Room had a bit of a musty smell.
Aung Mingalar is in a convenient location, staff are pleasant and its quite reasonable in price.
Internet only in the office, and slow at that, but its not unusual for Myanmar. Beware of full moon festival periods as the monks at the pagoda opposite chant ALL night on loudspeaker.
Staff was nice and willing to help, however it takes 4 people to help with any questions. Very good english speaking lady in the evening helping all. Nice location accross from a market and pagoda. Easy access to the temples by Ebikes. The dog was so cute.
This hotel should not be called Boutique hotel but Bungalow Hotel. The floor of the room was very dirty and just plain concrete. The shower drain was blocked and water was standing in. The Internet signal is visible but not running at all, which is common to Myanmar. Make sure to book do all important internet things before arriving. The breakfast buffet had choices however most items was cold as there was no heater underneath the containers + the spoons were left inside the containers which has a high risk of cross contamination but no one seems to care nor other customers... Ebikes expensive, ended up renting them down the road for 6000 kyats per day.
having to pay for wifi which is confined to the reception area!
Breakfast was ok/standard
The "welcome" was not very welcoming. It seemed like everything had a price which was so different from the other places we stayed in Bagan. I don't think our lack of sleep helped from the rain prayer that could be heard non stop all night in our room. Too expensive for the quality of the room and service. The only let down of Myanmar so far.
Excellent Location! It's clean and has a decent look.
The staff and hotel policies, show their attitude towards guests. Is listed as "free wifi" but there's a sign in the lobby that reads "2000 Kyats/day for wifi" - never works; Breakfast is from 6-9am, when most people is out seeing the sunrise in Bagan - they don't do take-outs! (as stated in the front desk). Every time I went to the front desk there was a guest complaining...
The location is fantastic and the manager spoke perfect English.
The breakfast was always the same for 5 days with a limited choice of mostly cold stuff.
Ms. May (The Manager) helped us in buying cheaper bus tickets going back to Yangon. The hotel offered traditional and modern rooms. It was near a pagoda. The hotel was 1-5 minute walk from nearby restaurants and shops.
If you picked or were assigned a room near the street it could be noisy even at night. Some of the facilities such as electric plug, toilet weren't working. Had to ask to transfer to another room for our 2nd night because the toilet bowl was clogged. Wi-fi was weak (as expected in Bagan) and need to go near the reception so as to have better wi-fi reception.
Pretty good location. One staffmember speaks english fluently. Breakfast okay.
No value for money. The most expensive hotel we stayed at in Myanmar, and the worst. 47 dollars got us a tiny room, bathroom wall was open at the top, ventilation was open so it was full of mosquitos and other bugs. Air con was okay but positioned so that it always hits your head (no matter settings). Tv had 3 channels, one in english. Wifi was 2000 extra and only available in the lobby. Staff refused to accept laundry (apparantly too busy). At the end of our stay we wanted to take a shower (after checking out). They have facilities but wanted 5usd for rental of a towel (because they "dont cater to the public"). All in all terrible stay and very expensive. I dont know how they have 3 stars. Seems like they only want to squeeze your wallet. Cant recommend.
This hotel is overdrive, at least 2/3. The Room comfort is poor. In the room there are, except beds, practically no furniture, almost nothing to hang dresses, all looks hold specially the poor bathroom. No value for money. Finally, because of the hotel is located just in front of a pagoda, you will appreciate an early morning wake-up at 4:30 till around 8:30 because of religious activities.
Really good location, close to main street with good food and drinks and also not far from the temples. Good breakfast, and the staff serving breakfast were very friendly, as were the staff cleaning the rooms. Because of the location, if the rooms were cheaper or the quality were better, it would be a good place to stay.
The quality of the fixtures and fittings in the room was very poor (lights falling out of their sockets, loose shower fitting, ineffective air conditioning because of fluctuating power supply). You have to pay for Wifi even though it is free pretry much everywhere in town. Only 4 TV channels, and only one in English. The bikes are overpriced and not upto a road-worthy standard. We mentioned this to the reception manager, but we felt fobed off and nothing was done.
IT's well located between bus station, train station, jetty and all the sights. Evening team is awesome. Great "Bagan feel" and nice rooms.
Morning team, Wifi.
