I wish that club from across the road would close soon. I could hear bass and loud music from there 2am on Tuesday. Seriously, if you can't afford sound proof walls or place, you might as well don't open a club.
Staffs are very accommodating. I couldn't sleep first night due to this club across the road and the staff helped me to change the room the very next day.
Good location with nice view, nice breakfast, good staff hospitality
The buffet dinner was average. Didn't really cater for westerners. When you got there a bit later in the night the food was dry. Also the food was almost the same every night.
Friendly staff and good service.
The friendly staff and location.
Had a bad experience on one of the bookings made through the concierge - however, this is of no fault of the hotel.
Staff were very helpful and accommodated our requests
EVERYTHING WAS GOOD
Expensive restaurant, airport pick up when requested was priced at 50 usd when we got a taxi for 8 usd. Take away breakfast was really poor.
Spacious and comfortable room, baby cot was arranged for us. Nice pool and nice restaurant (yet expensive) in the hotel, very nice staff.
generous with fruit and bottled water
Jammed roads around the hotel. Extremely noisy on some Sundays and Public Holidays. This comes from a regular music event/concert in an adjacent park. Hotel does not have much character
Room, swimming pool, F&B
Very friendly & polite staff, great variety of breakfast choices, comfortable bed & most important of all, the hotel was quiet at night, perfect for relaxing after a long business day!
staff does not speak english it seems that if you get a good rate on booking.com you are assigned the worst room (low floor with view on construction work so very noisy).
location facilities swimming pool
works ongoing 24/7 with a lot of noise
Lack of King Size bed. And as most good hotels in Myanmar they are too expensive for the country they are in.
A bit noisy in the evening sometimes
Pool area and the restaurants are quite good for yangon.
Food and drinks could be of a higher standard for the price. The restaurant ran out of all steak and most of the white wine one night which I found quite unbelievable for a 5 star hotel. Food at breakfast also needs improving - selection is OK but when compared to the Sule Shangri La I have to say the quality is not as good. Other than the food needing to be improved, this is a lovely hotel.
Rooms Decor Reception and concierge staff Excellent large pool
The Spa - they do not know what Reflexology is - wasted 1 hour. Another worse experience - a masseur there tried to rip us off an extra USD50 in cash- we did not pay as the manager there intervened. We are never going back to that Spa again!
The Club Lounge facilities and staff - excellent!
Wifi was not free after your 1100 checkout. Food was expensive. Bathroom looked old. Smell in the rooms.
Chatrium Hotel I believe in Fair and Honest review and that is what you will hear from me today. I will do this because if you are going to travel to an unknown location, your "home" may make or break your experience, and if you're going to spend the money, time, and effort in reading reviews and booking your stay; then the review should be fair and honest. The Chatruim Hotel may have one of the VERY BEST views in all of Yangon and an equally as impressive pool. Unfortunately, much like any place in Yangon, you are going to have to spend a good bit of cash to get that view. The hotel itself looks like a 1990s version of an expensive hotel. The rooms smell like mildew and the bathroom walls look like they could use a makeover. The beds are very comfortable and the sheets are top notch, but you should expect that from the price. The breakfast is incredible for Yangon standards, with so many options to choose from you will find something that suits your taste buds. You will have a choice between Asian, Indian, Wester, and more. Lunch and dinner will set you back uncomfortably as typical meals are around 20USD. Across the street is an incredible authentic Thai Restaurant with fantastic prices. Also nearby is a fun Hot Pot Restaurant called SK Hot Pot. The pool is fantastic and they have a gym in the same location and it has more than enough for you to get a good workout including very good treadmills and a smith machine. They were kind enough to let me stay the following day as my flight wasn't leaving until midnight, so I spent the entire afternoon around the pool and fitness center. The staff is exceedingly kind and friendly, as expected. My only true complaint about the hotel is the cost and the smell of the bedroom. This is a 4 star hotel with 5 star prices. If you don't care about money, then stay at the Chatrium. If you want to get the most value out of your money, then I would recommend staying at The Loft.
It was a wonderful experience. Great rooms, very helpful and courteous staff, and nice location.
Pricy food by Myanmar standards
Excellent choice of restaurants Food excellent Nice bedroom (got upgraded to suite) Good quality all the way round Location good unless you want to be in noisy central city Room price very reasonable
Too noisy from the neighbor. The rooms are needed to be update. The TV position in the room is very inconvenient to watch.
THE BED - NOT COMFY WITH UN-EVEN SURFACE. I HAD TO SLEEP ON THE EDGE. BACKACHE AFTER SLEEPING FOR 3 NIGHTS. FRUITS WERE NOT DELIVER TO OUR ROOM AS PROMISE EXCEPT FOR THE 1ST DAY.
VERY ATTENTIVE STAFF FROM BELL BOY TO RESTAURANT WAITER/WAITRESS, FRONT DESK TO CONCIERGE, ALL OF THEM ARE VERY HELPFUL AND INFORMATIVE. BUFFET BREAKFAST IS VERY GOOD. ROOM IS VERY CLEAN AND THE AMENITIES IN THE HOTEL ARE VERY ADEQUATE.
Considering the price of this hotel, I was expecting a lot more. My room looked out onto a loud construction site that operated from before 9am until after 6pm (despite the hotel's reassurances that these were thetimes between which it would operate). The constuction won't be done until April 2015. Pool is nice and gym ok, but service is atrociously slow and my request to move rooms was ignored.
Room with good views (Lake or pool) need an extra pay.
Room with good views (Lake or pool) and High speed Wi-Fi and it’s free. Hotel got a very beautiful swimming pool and a good SPA.. Good restaurant with outdoors seating and great breakfast choices. This hotel got a bar sill 1.30 am, where all other places around Yangon is closed by 11pm.
No complimentary shuttle to and from airport.....extortionate cost.
