I am very satisfied with Kempinski Hotel Khan Palace. It's very clean and cozy hotel in UB.
Staff very helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Rooms were functional but comfortable. Western comfort in a rapidly westernising city!
Room/hallways had a strange odour, possibly related to cigarette smoke.
The service was absolutely excellent!
Staff were super friendly and very helpful
Kempinski catered to every comfort. My favourite was the L'Occitane Revitalising Bath Cube which I would indulge in free of charge every night after a long day's work. They also provide a mobile phone with a local sim card free of charge which was very useful. Definitely a hotel they tries to cater for every need.
quiet & safety environment good breakfast fast respond of requirement friendly staffs......
Have stayed many times and it's very consistent. Terrific staff and a terrific General Manager
1. Room is nice and clean. 2. Service is good. 3. Staff is friendly and helpful.
1. The hotel has 3-star look and 4-star room. It looks quite old, especially the building outlook and lobby. Lobby is very small comparing to other 5-star hotels. But the room is big and comfortable. 2. Room is not sound-proof enough, can hear clearly the loud music in bar nearby which is very noisy. 3. Hallway is full of lamb smell all-day long even though we stay in higher-floor room, which shall not happen in a so-called 5-star hotel. 4. Breakfast is simple and everyday has the same menu. 5. Weak wifi in room. 6. The location is a little bit far from city center, which take 25-minute by walking and more than 30-minute by car as traffic is very bad in UlaanBaatar. 7. Kempinski Hotel charges much higher price than what we have confirmed with Booking.com during hotel booking, which is very bad and strange.
Wonderful breakfast spread. Loved the fresh fruit juices. Spacious, clean and comfortable room. Warm and friendly staff.
The breakfast was tops! Delicious and such variety after traveling the countryside of Mongolia. The shower and bath were also a treat, warm flowing water.
Free Wi-Fi. Decent breakfast.
The size of the room plus it was very average.
Really nice staff. Very comfortable and big rooms. The gym was a real gym with good equipment. The breakfast was among the best I have ever had. The provide a cell phone to call them to help you get a taxi while you are out. They convert money at the real rates. The restaurant was quite good.
The only problem was location. The places you are likely to visit are about a 30 minute walk away. Taxis are cheap, BUT the traffic is so bad that that same 30 minute walk could take 40 minutes sitting in a taxi. So, in effect, you really just have to walk.
staff service, room service
1) bathroom: water is leaking from shower room 2) no air ventilation (fun) in 1st floor restoran and corridors, has bad smell
The staff were excellent, very attentive and spoke decent English. They worked to accommodate my needs and even whims! Also the restaurants were very good, Sakura the Japanese restaurant in particular.
The location was farther from the airport than most city hotels, and there wasn't much in the immediate vicinity.
Excellent staff - friendly and helpful Spacious, well-equipped rooms Free upgrade when we returned from our ger camp One of our best stays in 5 weeks of travel through Europe and Asia
Everything was great at this hotel. Compared to my experience in Ramada Hotel in 2012, Kempinski is still superior despite being a bit older. The rooms are enormous and the staff were exceedingly helpful and friendly.
A little far from city center but not so far that it presents a problem. To walk takes about 20-25 minutes (which might be faster than a taxi!)
The Massages was great The amenities were well thought out The room was very clean
The bathroom paper rolls were like cardboard, perhaps a softer product would be nicer.
Very Nice hotel. Even if it is not the newest hotel in the city it has excellent staff. I always feel welcome
Everything! The staff were exceptionally helpful. We were very impressed with the quality of service on the front desk who could not do enough for us - nothing was too much trouble. The room was 100% clean and extremely well equipped. The best hotel we have stayed in during our 6 months of travelling!
Nothing. All perfect.
staffs, room and breakfast
This Hotel is quite luxurious and the staffs offer an excellent services and assistance.
The Hotel has plenty on WI-FI but many times, I was not able to connect to any (I was in 5th floor) and when connect, the speed was really not at the lever of this outstanding Hotel.
Broad room, nice reception, comparatively quite surrounding, reasonable service price
Bit old, location is not closer to downtown as too traffic jam, uncomfortable bedding
Very helpful and friendly staff, they seemed to genuinely care for me. They were creative and helpful when organizing trips and where to go ine evenings. Spoke excellent english. Very good experience!
Whether you coming in from abroad or - like my wife and I - are on extended stay in Ulaanbaatar (UB) and need/want a “getaway”, the Kempinski Khan Palace UB offers a luxury that is unmatched here – or elsewhere! The staff is attentive to every detail and need, anticipating many before they hit your personal trouble radar. The rooms are spacious and – being well-laid-out - providing an even greater sense of space. The bathroom facilities are well thought out and thoroughly modern, down to the European style toilet, and after a dinner in any of the three fine restaurants in the building, the morning breakfast from 730 to 1030 is – to coin a phrase – to die for! And I don’t use that term lightly. As a world traveler, I have never seen better. The same attention to detail in crafting fine jewelry is here, crafting fine hostelry. Add the value, compared to other UB hotels in this class, and you’ll stay nowhere else!
Leaving! Whilst the free late check-out (2 hours late to avail of the full-body massage) softened the blow, we felt, after a 2 day stay, like we were leaving old friends. We will be back!
The breakfast has much to improve in the variety of food and size of the restaurant.
