The best part about this hotel is the incredible view over the Grand Harbour, with you can enjoy from the restaurant or bar balconies. The location is ideal, close to St. John Co-Cathedral, Palace of the Grand Master, and the Lower and Upper Barrakka Gardens. Furthermore, the staff is very friendly. These are just minor complaints (overall I was quite happy). My room (a single) was small and sparsely decorated; it felt more like a dorm room than a hotel room. Also, the bed wasn't particularly comfortable. |

This is the second time I had stayed in The British Hotel, and I deliberately returned there because it's easy to reach from the airport (catch the number 8 bus to Valetta's bus station, then walk for five minutes to the hotel) and because I wanted to once more enjoy the spectacular view of the Grand Harbour, The breakfast is awful--it's not so much the range of food (cheese, sliced meat, cereal, bread, etc. that most hotels serve) but the quality of it, which is definitely inferior to that in every other hotel I stayed in. It's a great pity, because reviews have for a long time commented on the poor food, and I had hoped it might have improved since my first visit, but that wasn't the case. Also, the curtain linings in my room had large tears in several places, all of which has persuaded me that even a perfect view can't compensate for everything, so I won't be going back; however, I would still urge anyone to stay there one night, just to experience that magical night view. |

Hotel was great. Had character and a wonderful view of Grand Harbour from restaurant and lounge and some rooms but not ours, which didn't matter as we were out mostly. Eating breakfast watching the Grand Harbour was an excellent way to start the day. |

The location was absolutely unbeatable. Good value for the money. Hotel is rundown and verging on dirty, even in the public areas such as the bar. The food was marginal. |

With reasonable rate, British Hotel offers a very good place to experience the wonderful Valletta which has been declared as World Heritage by unesco. Its cafe may be the best location to view the city as the occupants enjoying their breakfast, lunch or dinner. I truely recommend British Hotel for people who want to go back to the past. It is a little bit tricky to find the hotel if you walk from the Republic Street |

The helpful and friendly owners and staff. The magnificant setting and view. The poor breakfast and the fact that with a little effort it could be a wonderful hotel. I would return to one of the larger rooms with terrace. No hairdrier in room. |

The staff of the hotel was very friendly and helpful. The facilities are basic but sufficient. The shower curtain could do with a wash, it was dirty. |

Location, friendly staff. Room equipment was old and weary (bathroom!). Charging 7EUR for air conditioning in this climate is not acceptable. |

The staff were always polite, friendly and very helpful. The views from the bar and restaurant were absolutely stunning, across Valletta's Grand Harbour towards the Three Cities. It was always possible to park outside and a short walk into the centre of Valletta. The decor and finsh of the rooms and public areas was rather outdated. I would describe its style as 1950s institutional. Use of air conditioning in the room was an extra cost option which I chose not to take. |

The room was ok - clean bathroom, comfortable bed. I liked the fact that they had fans since you have to pay extra for air-condition. There is an elevator taking you to your room but we had a few steps to get to our room and this can be a bit uncomfortable when you carry a lot of luggage. Breakfast was poor, not much variety at all, just the basics. |

Amazing amazing view of the Grand harbour. We had a massive balcony with 4 sun loungers, tables and chairs etc. The balcony was quite dirty and unkempt compared to elsewhere in the hotel. |

We stay in a five-bed room, spacious and yet dormitory like...The seaview next to your breakfast table certainly the trump card of this hotel. If you are into the 70's retro, this is your pick. Free Wi-Fi access in the lounge. The interior decor is a bit depressing and the showers just too weak. Some floors without lifts. A real shame to charge seven euros extra per nite for air con... |

The staff were very friendly and we had an excellent view from the room balcony. Very hot weekend & you had to pay extra if you wanted to use the air conditioning. |

Grand Hotel Excelsior is located on the coast of Valletta and offers views of the nearby harbour and surrounding islands. The hotel is just outside the historic entrance to Valletta. |
The Bayview Hotel is set on the Sliema promenade overlooking the Marsamxetto harbour and the historical buildings of Malta’s capital, Valletta. |
Hotel Fortina is set in a quiet neighbourhood of Sliema, a 5-minute walk from the bus terminal and shops. It has a beautiful view of Valletta and many leisure facilities. |
Set next to the ancient fortifications, Hotel Osborne has a central location, making it ideal for exploring Valletta. Admire the view from the rooftop spa with swimming pool and Jacuzzi. |
