In the center of Malta's city of Valletta and 215 yards from the harbor-view promenade, the Grand Harbour Hotel features free Wi-Fi throughout and a terrace. The front desk is open 24 hours a day.
Score from 1015 reviews Very good
Set within Valletta's ancient fortifications, the Osborne Hotel is a 5-minute walk from Malta's St. John’s Cavalier and St. John’s Co-Cathedral. The rooftop swimming pool provides great views.

Set 150 metres from Valletta’s St. John’s Co-Cathedral and a 5-minute walk from the bus terminus, Luciano Al Porto Boutique offers panoramic views of the harbour and free Wi-Fi throughout.

Central location and view of harbour.
Not much seating on the sun terrace.
Stunning location, overlooking the harbour. We had a room with a typical balcony (street side, but still charming). Free parking at the hotel.
Breakfast with plastic-bag-toasts (while Malta has delicious bread), the hotel is really in need of renovation, bathroom a bit smelly. A shame, on this location you could really build something nice!
Staff is friendly and the hotel offers all services: wifi, restaurant with a stunning view, large bathrooms, silent rooms, at least 1 EU electric plug in the rooms, etc.
Some rooms are not accessible with lifter and there are many stairs. Wifi only works in public areas but it is fast. The building, doors, furnitures, etc. are quite old.
Very friendly and helpful stuff. Very (!) close to the city center (100 m).
Good location Helpful reception staff Great views from front bedrooms Free Wi-fi available in public areas
Poor breakfast - sweaty cheese and ham, dry bread and very watered down fruit juice Very tired accommodation Surly staff in breakfast area 1970s time warp
The staff were incredibly helpful. When I needed directions, recommendations, a taxi or wanted to book a day trip, they went out of their way to make everything easy. The location is amazing. Only two blocks away (up steep stairs) is the main square in front of the co-Cathedral, with three very good outdoor restaurants. The Upper Barrakka Gardens are also only a few blocks away--again up steep stairs
This didn't bother me, but the hotel is at the base of two steep hills. Many streets in Valletta are so steep that they turn into stone stairways. Both of the main streets leading to the British Hotel do this. I LOVED it, but you need to know this if mobility is a problem.
Friendly and helpful staff Location overlooking harbour- as a business they could make much more of this Room though basic was always clean Good Wi-FI speed but not in room Closest eatery was the Harbour Cafe down the hill, excellent food and staff
Breakfast was a non event The restaurant location is great but food was mediocre. What a waste. Food is prepared during day then microwaved to order. The whole place needs a revamp, it is quaintly 70's but that will lose trade in long run. Parts of the film Munich shot here as they did not have to change much for the 70's atmosphere. Minor complaints and still enjoyed my stay
Great aspect, with uninterrupted view of the harbour
the hotel breakfast can only be described as dismal; tinned fruit salad, porest quality of jam in a packet and coffee muddy and almost cold. Purely a fuelling stop.
Central location Pleasant and helpful reception staff Would recommend to friends visiting Malta
Location and view exceptional, staff were friendly just like all Maltese we encountered
Shower head didn't fix to wall. Generally hotel was 'tired' and needed a little extra care that could make a big difference
Beautiful view from the restaurant, extremely friendly staff
Really old hotel, falling apart, no maintenance whatsoever. My room looked like a prison cell. Breakfast is ridiculous. The feel is more one of an abandoned old hostel than a hotel. OK if you pay 20 euro per night, more is a rip off
The location is good, you see the Grand Harbour and the coast of the Three Cities.
It is old and noisy, in the morning the cruises entering the harbour wake you up. The breakfast is very poor and the room has the basic stuff.
- good location with nice view of harbour - friendly staff
- breakfast menu very poor - room was not cleaned thoroughly and the beds were not made
Location was excellent, lovely views of the Grand Harbour. Handy for centre of Valetta. Friendly and helpful staff.
Breakfasts were very basic, with no variation all week. No nice bar where you could get a drink. This hotel could be great with just a few tweeks, a few plants on the rooftop and nice chairs and tables with parasols. Generally looked a bit tired.
Friendly desk staff
This was not to be helped: the first night of my 3 in Valetta turned out to be the first of nightly canon and firework celebrations, so: 3 nights of practically no sleep.
The staff were friendly and helpful with maps and offered to call cab for our trip to the airport the next day. The air conditioning was very quiet and much needed after 2 weeks of very hot weather. I was very comfortable. I liked the rather large bathroom, with an easy to access walk in shower. Having a balcony with view of street was nice even though I didn't use it.
I didn't like having to pay for air conditioning, but would'nt have slept without it. Considering the room cost $138.00 Canadian, the very least it should of had AC included. I also had a taxi ordered for 04:30 a.m. It didn't arrive until 04;45 which was stressful for my friends & I as we were going to the airport to catch a 06:30 flight out of Malta. I don't think the man who arrived was a cab driver as the car was not white with a cab sign on top. So could it have been that the hotel forgot to order a cab the night before & scrambled to find someone to drive us to the airport?? I gues we'll never know.
Quaint, quirky and sometimes curious design. Definitely a one-off!
Having to pay for air-con. Miserly breakfast with little choice. Probably one of the worst cups of coffee I've ever had. I think they used sub-standard tap water.
The view is the only positive aspect of this hotel
Bad quality of every single aspect of this hotel: room bathroom, distribution of rooms, wifi coberture, furniture, esthetics.
The personnel, owners, were very friendly and helpful. The location and views over the harbour were fantastic. The restaurant was adequate. We were very happy there for one week.
The decor was very old and drab. There are many steps between different levels which could be a problem to some people.
Although dated as other people have mentioned, the location is excellent. Just a few minutes walk to the amazing view over the harbour and to restaurants etc. The staff were very nice and helpful.
View and Location.
very bad bedroom, general conditions, no wi-fi in the rooms.
I liked it that it was close to the bus station and most places.
I didn't like that there was ants in my room.
Position excellent, staff good and attentive.
Our room 115 had limited space for clothes, wardrobe was half full of spare bedding.
breakfast is very limited and if staying for more than a couple of nights can be repetitive,
