The staff was nice to us all the time, even though our late arrival and they even adjusted our checkout with half an hour allowing us slightly more time to sleep, which was greatly appriciated There was no information that the hotel is being renovated. The elevator was small, as were corridors. But of course I understand that these two issues are such things that customers only have to adapt to, nor are they changeable. |

Nothing to be honest, I don't know what star rating the hotel displays, it might be 2 - none of them deserved. The place is appaling with the exception of the view. |

We had an excellent view over the Grand Harbour and the hotel had character and we found the staff very helpful. Thought the breakfast was a bit limied but for the price we really shouldn't complain; it was ** after all. |

The standard of the hotel is very basic but the location is good as long as you don´t mind climbing stairs. Excellent vue of the harbour. |

The rooms, although basic, were clean. The staff were very friendly, courteous and very helpful. Needs refurbushment especially new beds. |

harbour view from breakfast room; friendly helpful staff; Valletta's attractions within easy walking distance if you are fit. 1. Difficult access between reception and hotel room, especially with a suitcase, eg narrow passageways, lift did not go to my floor, stairs to negotiate around. This problem appears to be due to the hotel occupying several adjacent buildings on a hillside site. It does not suit a mobility-impaired person. 2 The hotel is difficult to get to/from with luggage without using a taxi, due to location. |

The view of the Grand Harbour from my terrace was unbelievable and the main reason I had wanted to stay there; there aren't any other hotels that offer that view, so it was worth the discomfort to experience it. The manager was very friendly. The location is superb since everything is within a 5 minute walk though there are lots of steps in all directions. The food wasn't good; I left most of the one evening meal I ordered and breakfast wasn't worth going down for. There was a constant pool of water on the bathroom floor that leaked from under the shower tray; I didn't complain as I was only there briefly. The hotel is generally in need of a facelift but could be stunning with some tender tender care that I'd be more than happy to oversee |

Nothing except the view for which we paid extra and the staff who where helpful. It is shabby and run down in the extreme, it had no acceptable public places, the bar was closed and lacked any ambiance. |

the harbour view from my room I read all the negative guest reviews before booking concerning delapidated furniture, having to pay for heating etc. I must have had a refurbished room because the furniture was new and there was an efficient air conditoning/heating system. The hotel is a very sad place, but adequate although very minimalist. |
