Hotel Castille  

Location in the city centre could hardly be improved. The staff were unfailingly friendly. Breakfasts are served on the roof terrace.

The shower is an old hand-held device.

Very well situated, with many sights just around the corner. Short walk to bus station and hotel located in the centre of Valletta. Also next to post office. Roof restaurant with splendid view, where amongst other things breakfast is served. Nice staff.

Worn out room, but did the trick. Some trouble with TV picture, and just a few channels. Door to room open when I initially got there first night.

Best location in the old town of Valetta,near bus station and shops,and gardens,with lovely views over the island.Nice old building with character and history. Fantastic roof terrace for breakfast,which had a good selection of food.

We had an "economy" room facing the back yard,it was rather dull,old furniture and rather dusty,and bathroom a bit worn,we had not expected anything special as it is an old style building ,but for what we were paying it was not very good.The moscitoes were terrible which was a surprise ,as this was early March

The town was beautiful, the hotel was in the centre of Valetta, the surrounding was also very nice. The hotel was nice, breakfast also good, the room was quite good.

The furniture was a little bit poor, the room was cold. The bathroom was very little, water was hardly get, hot water comes also for a long time.

Grand style, excellent rooms and bathroom, roof top restaurant and the cellar restaurant. Being at the heart of Valletta with all the shops, services transport links. A magnificent setting and location away from the sales touts..

Direction signs during the massive works around the City Gate would be very helpful.

The Hotel was extremely relaxing and comfortable. It was quiet and had a wonderful, historic atmosphere about it.

The location is great, close to the Valletta Bus Terminal and right next to the shopping streets. Internet connection really good.

The hotel is a bad joke. The interior hasn't been renovated at least since 1980, all the furniture is ancient. Some of the things in my room looked like they have never been cleaned, a chair, the light switches, the tv remote control, the thermostat and other things. I was scared to touch them. The room was very small, basic and ugly. The towels were gray (used to by white). The door to the room seemed to be fragile, I was afraid to leave my stuff there, so I just took my laptop with me every time I left. Breakfast was basic and unsatisfactory.

Located next to bus terminus for easy travel everywhere around the island and in the heart of Valetta. The staff were friendly and more than happy to help any way they could. French style hotel with free wi fi, I would definitely stay there again.

Bathroom was a bit basic and there was no tea making facilities in the room.

It's Maltese charm and comfort. It's over 300 years old, like a stately home, in a perfect city setting for everything Valletta has to offer. The bus terminal is only a few minutes' walk away, which opens up the whole of Malta for exploration. The staff were friendly, happy, and helpful.

Excellent location for walking around the city or catching a tour bus around the island. The staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel earns three stars and could not have asked for better.

The hotel is located quite close to the bus station, in a nice area (close to the Prime Minister's office). It's a charming 16th-century mansion with a beautiful staircase. Staff is cheerful and helpful.

The rooms are pretty basic, with old and not very convenient furniture. Breakfast is really awful, to the point that we had to buy pastizzi in the street and bring them in to have with coffee for breakfast. The view from the roof terrace, where breakfast is served, does not compensate its poor quality.

Location seems to be the big catch. Other than that price for the room too high.

There was No water in the bath/shower or if you can call a little trickle for water pressure. Plus the bathroom was so small - shit, shave and shower at the same time was possilbe.

Great location in the old city of Valletta. The hotel is in the interesting historical building, which certainly adds to the atmosphere..My room had a typical Maltese balcony which adorn so many old houses on the island. Breakfast is served in roof-top restaurant with spectacular view of Grand Harbour.

The room was a bit too dark, definitely needs more lights. And quite noisy at night, although facing the side street. Generally the hotel would benefit from a bit of refreshing and redecorating, the room look worn out and tired. But great value for Valletta given its superb location.

I arrived Hotel late around 23:00, No water in room and reception staff could not provide as no access to bar facility. Suggest Hotel either place bottle in room or make available at recetion even if not cooled a bottle of water would have been very appreciated.

The stuff was very good,clean the room every day,afterall good value for money.No bad comments at all.Just fine.

Absolutely great location, in central Valetta just near the Upper Barraka Gardens - and with views especially from the rooftop resturant. Hotel in a 1900 century building and quite charming. Everything worked in our room including the airconditioning.It was reasonable value for money.

Sheets on the beds were far too small and could not be tucked in. The food in the returant (with great views) was very mediocre.

Hotel promises wifi connection in all rooms and the hotel, and is not true. Impossible to have the connection in my room, impossible on the 5th floor for breakfast. So for me it is unacceptable!

Very friendly + helpful staff, great rooftop-terrace for breakfast and/or dinner with view over the Grand Harbour, 50 m walking distance to Upper Barrakka Garden

Very comfortable and clean. Real character and historic feel. Quiet location but conveniently close to city centre. Room without balcony was always pleasantly cool considering scorching temperatures.

Although the first impressions were not good - the interior looked 'tired' and needed sprucing up - the staff were most welcoming, genuinely friendly, cheerful and helpful. The location was superb - very easy to access transport and close to main shopping streets. The restaurant on the top floor had views to die for and again the staff were delightful. Evening meals were value for money, beautifully prepared and varied each day. Breakfasts were a little 'samey', but there was some variety. Again the views in the morning were super. A staff suggestion of an Italian restuarant in South Street - can't remember the name - led to first-class dining out.

Some fixtures and fittings need refurbishing - shower screens, general decor.
