The food (breakfast and evening meal) was well cooked and varied over our week's stay. The bar area was friendly and relaxed. The bedroom furnishings were tired and need to be replaced for the hotel to justify the four star rating.

The location and the Sun entering the rooms facing the Bay (the back of the hotel.) Booked room with sea view with Booking.com and specified needed to be facing the Sun. Instead given a room facing the Marina at the front of the Hotel. After to-ing and fro-ing we got an upgrade for an extra 5 euro per person per night. Booking .com needs to differentiate the two vastly different room types on offer in the hotel i.e. bay view, and/or marina view. They cost different amounts, but must therefore lead to a lot of dissatisfied customers if all the Bay view Rooms have been filled and an upgrade cannot be made.

The seaside view is simply breathtaking! Room always clean an perfect. There isn't any gym, which I believe a 4 star hotel should have. The Sauna was down for 2 days. And I believe the staff could offer some more explanation of the hotel to newcomers.

This hotel has large clean rooms. We booked a twin room which had two double beds. The room was comfortable and clean The staff at this hotel (especially at reception) in my opinion are inadaquately trained. If you are used to room service and a quick response to any problem or issue, then you can forget this hotel. Hello or good morning costs nothing but was not forthcoming from the staff here.Everything is in place for the hotel to be a good place to stay but it just didnt happen. Constant trips down to reception for little items that wern't in the room and a one hour wait for room service that never turned up.

We have been to this hotel before and my wife and I both especially love the view we get from the balcony. What we were impressed with this time was that there were 9 days of activities to collect money for the less fortunate at this hotel.

The only good thing about the hotel was the location. The beds were the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept in, the room electrics were a health hazard, the mini bar had half drunk bottles of water in them from previous guests and cleaners left our patio doors wide open so that people on the streets could come into our room.

The breakfast Balconies too close next door can look into your room Bathrooms too old and they have rust. Shower was broken. The bar staff were not helpful they avoided to serve my daughter a desert because it was late and a another woman had to get up and ask for the ash tray while the staff were standing at the bar waiting for the clock?????? No parking facilities No free Internet in the rooms For me the hotel is a 3 star

Nice location, great view over the bay. Nice breakfast buffet in the morning. Not a 4 star room, fixtures/linens old and worn, poor ac, 2 star room, pool and restaurant 3 star. Pool and sun area is too small when hotel is full, hard to get two chairs after 11 am, no wait staff poolside. The luggage room is unattended.

Well situated for St Julain's nightlife Not all impressed by teh standard of service provided by the hotel reception staff. When we arrived we had to wait a long time to check in, partially due to the fact the three staff were all dealing with a single client. However, the manner in which we were subsequently dealt with by a middle-aged woman, on two separate occasions, was far worse. Furthermore, the standard of facilities in the bathroom was poor and not befitting a 4-start hotel. I will definitely not stay at that hotel again.

The veiw over St Julian's bay Warning This hotel does not have air conditioning. When we complained to the hostile receptioninst we were informed that the air conditioning was heating or fresh air. The manager refused to see us and the receptionist told us to take this matter up with our travel agent and was dissappointed when she learnt that we booked through booking.com. The minor construction work being carried out at the hotel and the construction site next door, the cleaners not replacing toweling or fully cleaning your room and dinner more expensive than the 5 star Hilton next door are minor inconveniences, however if you do not want your deoderant and lipstick melting out of their containers in your room, this hotel may not be for you.

The location for this hotel was good, near to seaside, resteraunts and bus stop. The seaviews from pool and sitting area was lovely. The hotel wasn't a four star, rooms were large but basic, the aircon wasn't the best and decor very dated. Buffet breakfast was average. The bar area was understaffed leaving it extremely slow to get a drink. Checkout was 11 am on the button and reception staff we not accommodating when we asked for later one.

view of Spinola Bay fantastic.Proximity to recreation facilites good. Incorrect room for first night, inferior, given discount, but feel it should have been free as very tiny compared to booked room.(upgraded to see view 3months before with confirmation from hotel of upgrade). No atmospehere as no entertainment, only tv in Bar.Staff on reception not particually helpfull.Just felt they did there job to the basic.Did not eat in the hotel, apart from breakfasts were warm in the serving dishes.I felt the hotel needs some sort of uplift to bring up to 2011 standards. and could be fantastic with that location

“Centrally located, adjacent to the Paceville area, yet not effected by noise or busy pediastrian streets. Had a studio apartment which had all the basic amenities that you would need. Very modern and comfortable. Perfect for a couple. Supermarket located within 5 minutes walk, although small shop available in hotel (limited to basic items such as drinks and sandwiches and a few condiments) Molten Brown toiletries provided each day and the room made up. Staff very helpful. Lovely basement pool with Jacuzzi and sauna (these were not always hot in the mornings but usually perfect by afternoon/evening). These facilities appeared to be rarely used. Roof pool small but adequate for hotel.” Suzanne, Co Kerry |
