Facilities, location, location, location

The staff and overall look of the hotel was excellent. Especially Ester at the Tiki bar, always really friendly and makes you feel that nothing is too much trouble. She deserves a pay rise! Feels like a proper 5star hotel should. Fantastic views over the harbor and a real regal feel to the lobby.

Those damn steps! Also, the lifts can get very crowded at breakfast time.

Fantastic room and views - very friendly, and efficient staff. Excellent location for Valletta.

Rather a small choice of restaurants in the evening.

The location was very good being near to teh entrance to the main centre and the views acoss the harbour were lovely.

There are no taxis there and the hotel has an arrangement where they call private cars for a fixed fee. I had to go for a meeting and the person arranging it was very rude and unprofessional. Almost appears to be a con to me. Was late for the meeting as a consequnce.

On my last day I was given a table for my breakfast but when I came back after getting my food the table is already occupied!!!

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The location was great - on the coast but only a few minutes walk from the centre of Valletta. Lots of beach chairs and umbrellas - with adequate shady areas if you don't want to sit in the sun all the time. Breakfast was superb.

Staff friendly and helpful. Poolside was good and roomy, but we were beginning of the season. Loved the spa.

Food wasn't that great. Breakfast standard buffet but hot food wasn't! Evening meal was buffet in the main and not that hot or a la carte where we were very slowly served. Only ate there once

Friendly, relaxing atmosphere. Located close to Valetta centre. Room was very comfortable and staff very attentive. Everything you would expect!

The bed, the nice cocktail offer in the bar and the pools.

The breakfast, the lack of free WIFI in the rooms and the fact that occasionally they are cooking in the restaurant below the lobby (it smells).

Facilities were good and pool area quite quiet. Location very good for Valletta. Staff in reception mostly very helpful and friendly.

Couple of problems with room which were fixed promptly. Staff in restaurants ranged from surly to condescending. Lack of information specific to hotel and a lack of local knowledge amongst some staff.

The hotel staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel feels comfortable, welcoming and friendly. The view from our rooms were excellent. The rooms were clean & well serviced. After making our feelings felt re intrusion of conference attendees we were allocated a room on another floor without any question.

The hotel had weddings and conferences running the whole time we were there and we felt that these were taking precedence over tourists and visitors. Our room (701?) during the first week was oppositie three bedrooms which were being used as seminar rooms and conference attendees were gathering outside our room early in the morning waiting to go into seminars and their conversation and laughter woke us earlier than we would have liked. Also hotel staff were preparing the seminar rooms very early and we had to ask them to do it a little quieter (7.10 A.M.). However, after mentioning this to reception and, by chance, meeting with Jacqueline Vassallo, on our return to the hotel after 5 days in Gozo, we were allocated a room on the 10th floor which was perfect. There was still, however, a very large 'Mars' conference in the hotel at that time and, although we were not disturbed at all in our room, it still felt a little like a 'conference' hotel and not a 'holiday' hotel.

The location is ideal for visiting the sites of Valletta and catching a bus to other parts of the island. Lovely view of the sea and passing boats. Very friendly efficient staff and with the private car pick and return to the airport, a great hotel.

There was nothing about the hotel that we did not like.

For a 5 star hotel one would expect free wi-fi in the rooms in this moder age, as well. Not as an extra luxury, but an essential neccessity. It was the only but quite considerable inconvinience, perhaps, for business travellers especially. The drainage in the shower cabin was poor. I lived on the 9th floor - perhaps it's not an issue on the lower floors.
