Hotel Fortina    

Location and layout of the hotel.

Thought the dining room used for breakfast was too small for both the Hotel and it,s neighbour the Fortina Spa. Always busy and staff found it difficult to prepare tables quick enough for guests. Additional staff in the dining room for breakfast may be the answer.

The price of the hotel! And nice rooms with good cleaning.

The hotel and it's marvellous location across from beautiful Valetta +pool and proximity to tours, shops, spa, etc

The bedroom and bathroom were shoddy

i like te view from my window the room was big the food was secound to none the staff were lovely the location was great i would highly recommend hotel fortina

The waterside location, the hotel's restaurants and the friendliness of the staff.

A member of the hotel's staff pretended to give us information about the neighbouring 5-star Fortina Spa hotel when he was really trying to find customers for time-sharing in that hotel (which we discovered frrom other guests who were not happy about this tactic).

The hotel is well located with easy access to Valletta by bus or ferry. Despite its age it is a clean and well presented hotel with some modernizing underway. We stayed in a triple room that was spacious and well maintained by the cleaning staff. The central garden is a beautifully designed area with plenty of space to relax in comfort. The staff, both in reception and restaurants, are extremely professional and pleasant.

I was disappointed with the Spa facilities that are shared with the five star Fortina Spa next door. The swimming pool was a grim and uninviting place, lacking in any decor and on par with an underground garage. The changing rooms were ill equipped for dressing. The use of the sauna and Jacuzzi were an extra 18 Euros, which in any other four star hotel I've ever stayed in, would be included in the available facilities.

The restaurants were very good, the hotel itself was first class except for the lift (1). Overall we were very satisfied

I said the staff were excellent but I make an exception of the reception staff who were quite obnoxious and rude.

Reservations did not reserve my room despite this being confirmed over the telephone with hotel itself!! Room was awful.. Nothing like its shown in pictures ..plus I wanted a garden view and this was not available !! Matters worn out without good springs, bathroom not clean enough . ac did not work.. A total disaster!!

Rooms are first class nice and confy

Parking its very hard unless u pay alot of money at the car park They should have discount for residence at the car park

The view from balcony 505, The large and airy dining room. The ability to sit outside between the two hotels off the main road during the election celebrations was much appreciated. The pleasant and friendly attitude of ALL the staff was much appreciated.

Music from the Terrace Bar did detract from the comfort of our balcony. Perhaps is could be less loud. Being (gently) subjected to possible time share approach was not necessary as we encountered too much of that on Sliema promenade.

Staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and functional.

Breakfast was very hectic and rushed. Unable to get a coffee after 9 am.

Clean,large room overlooking outdoor pool. Great hot showers. Good breakfast selection of hot and cold meals. Very good value for the cost

Have stayed here for the second year and was happy again with my stay. Lovely friendly island would recommend to go to all ages.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The location was excellent both with ease of access to the sights in Valletta and to restaurants and bars in Sliema. Within a few minutes walk of bus stops and the ferry terminus. All in all a great stay which was made even better by the fantastic view across to Valletta.

I can't really fault anything. The room we had was more than adequate. Facilities seemed good, but didn't really make use of anything else other than B&B as wanted to get out and see as much as possible.

Bed was 'tired' with the spring mattress 'pinging' and not supporting Despite being careful, the shower screen still allows water to escape onto the floor. This is dangerous for staff & guests and could easily be remedied with a rubber or plastic attachment to bottom of screen

Staff were lovely, and very helpful. The room small and a bit dated however it was clean and comfortable. The hotel facilities were excellent and a good choice of restaurants on site. Public transport good and ferry service to valletta excellent. Central location to ferries and public bus transport to go to other parts of the island.

Limited choice of activities in the area although the ferry to valetta is very handy and inexpensive. Valetta is close by so this was not really a problem either.

The fantastic location and the wonderful views from my sea-view room. Helpful staff in the 4 star hotel who responded to my request for a room on a higher floor with a balcony. Friendly and personable housekeeping staff.

Poor changing facilites and unattractive heated indoor pool area. Poor value for money compared to inclusive deals. Pressure to visit 5 star hotel and be involved in sales pitch (I managed to avoid this time as had previously been subjected to it).

The room upgrade and location was good but does not make up for not accommodating us with an early check in.

I was very unhappy to hear that after requesting an early check in and speaking with the manager the room was not made available for an early check in and we had to hang around reception for ages. This was very disappointing and this being a business trip made us late for meetings we had planned. We were weary after travelling and this was inconvenient and unnecessary after requesting to check in early. Disappointed and very put off for using them again as we do make frequent trips.

Convenient location- view of grand harbour from room

Being refurbished so a bit of a mess & muddle. Lack of information- none in rooms, poor signs for restaurants etc, very cold draughty reception area. Disappointed with spa, nothing available at times to suit me and not very welcoming so didnt bother. Zipped mattress was broken, no mattress cover and sheet wasnt big enough to tuck in- not 4 star standard
