Just 440 yards from Mgarr Harbour, the Grand Hotel offers rooftop dining and a pool with uninterrupted views of the island of Malta. It has large rooms with satellite TV.
Score from 570 reviews Excellent
Swimming pools, tennis courts, a private beach, and an excellent choice of cuisine for lunch and dinner; these are just a few reasons to choose Hotel Ta' Cenc.
Score from 135 reviews Very good

It's my first time there and I really loved kempinski. It is a very relaxing hotel... :)
A good time of rest. Good breakfast. beautiful outdoors.
spa not available due to refurbishment... would have liked to be informed as i would have cancelled. Hammam (substituting the pool) facilities not working properly... tile in pool broken lift wasn't working had to ask for bath robes and face cloths. Could not run videos on my ipad.
Breakfast was amazing and the rooms are great. Staff are extremely nice.
Reported a problem with the WiFi in the morning and had to report it again in the afternoon and only got fixed in the evening. Squash courts are a disaster and a disgrace for a 5 star hotel! No compensation for the indoor pool being closed. Maintenance should not be done in winter, coming from someone who works in operations at a hotel.
Breakfast was divine!!
Blankets and trays laden with leftovers lying around in the corridors for too long.
Everything except the coffee
Hotel grounds, pools, amenities and location.
Very noisy air con, lacked a bit of character due to ubiquitous architecture.
The pool area and the terrace for dining were beautiful and well maintained
The room - beds very poor quality. We had to ask for toppers. Bedside light was faulty so was brought an extension lead and nothing fixed. Balcony too small for two people. Service slow and inadequate - wine not cold and manager at breakfast very supercilious and disinterested. It was very expensive for a very mediocre room. Service in dining rooms very bad. They forgot to bring parts of food ordered and we waited 30 minutes one night before anyone came to take our order! The spa is lovely but very expensive! The hotel lacks atmosphere and we felt we had to whisper wherever we went - not a friendly place at all. We won't return
Extremely helpful, friendly and welcoming multilingual staff ! General comfort. Signposting (essential in Gozo !) Spa facilities (mmmm...) and staff. Excellent breakfast quality and choice.
Limited restaurant menu choice. Poor food value-for-money - expensive.
Staff, facilities, layout of hotel, food, other guests
WiFi was a bit intermittent
bathroom small. bath not easily accessible. shower too short. Would have preferred a normal bath with shower and glass partition.
Excellent stay to relax. Unlike other hotels, you can experience a quiet and unwinding feeling away from other guests.
Choice of three lovely pools. Tranquil setting. Very comfortable sunbeds. Good breakfast.
Quiet atmosphere good for relaxation
Pillows and mattress

Juices at breakfast not cold enough, no fresh orange juice or espresso at breakfast.
My wife and I stayed here with our 2 month old daughter. The Hotel is exceptionally well catered for families with Children and we were really taken care of throughout our entire stay. During the day we spent all of our time by the different pools, whilst in the evening we had the pleasure of dining at the hotel on a couple of occasions. The first was the BBQ night whilst on another occasion we ate at the outdoor restaurant by the pools where I had a fantastic plate of Pasta with Bottarga. We will defintely be revisiting
The only negative aspect in my opinion is the lack of food / snack facilities by the pool during the day.
Everything! The seclusion. The peace and quiet. Excellent staff. Beautiful suites. Exceptional food and glorious surrounds!
Beautiful hotel grounds, pool facilities (outdoor and indoor), spacious room, ensuite jacuzzi and wine bar. Excellent cakes. Hotel shuttle to a few key spots.
No shuttle provided to ferry terminal. Housekeeping service somewhat inconsistent. Air-conditioning was extremely loud and could not be regulated. (Being a light sleeper, this kept me up every night).
Pools, Room, Staff, Food, SPA, Gym, Outdoor Space, Very Clean.
Food Variety at the pool bar was poor.
B/Fast was excellent.
the A/C was a bit noisy during the night, but all in all good
We are Maltese, and actually felt like we were abroad not on our sister island. Staff is so nice and friendly. Amazing breakfast. At around tea time, housekeeping comes and gives you complimentary bottled water. Spa facilities are great too!
Being a 5 star hotel, you would expect things to be overpriced. We ordered a cocktail by the pool, and they gave us a small whiskey tumbler (mostly ice) which cost us almost 10 euros.
The swimming pools were large and very peaceful. The hotel was full but still plenty of pool loungers available. Although the hotel was pool it never appeared that way. Very quiet which we really liked. Close to the little town of St Lawrenz which was nice to stroll to and have dinner at a fantastic little restaurant in the square. Staff very friendly.
We had a suite and we were told all suites were all on the ground level. They gave us a disabled room which I was not happy about. I complained and they moved us to another room. However this room was also on the ground floor. It was also directly above the squash court. Therefore every morning we were rudely awoken by the banging of squash balls and Germans yelling very loudly. Makes me wonder during planning of this hotel why on earth would they put a squash court anywhere near the hotel rooms. It was very noisy. For anyone booking at this hotel I would recommend to not book a suite. Also our room was to have a pool view. As it was on the ground level and due to all the foliage we could not see the pool. The only thing we saw was foliage. Also all the restaurants are not open 7 days a week. The few days we stayed there the wine bar was closed. We stayed during the peak season and I think they need to open all restaurants and bars 7 days a week. That's what I would expect at any other nice hotel.
Excellent pools Staff very friendly
Relaxing atmosphere, attractive pools, excellent buffet breakfast
Lack of attention to detail e.g. twice given the wrong bill, poor information at the reception desk, inflated taxi prices if secured by hotel. Gardens looked very drab at night due to lack of illumination of the beautiful palm trees. Bathrooms need upgrading
Excellent for a relaxing holiday.
