Beautiful view, great location, quiet yet convenient. Very reasonable price. Will be back. So good , should keep it a secret :-)
Ridiculously small shower cubicle, should just be a "wet-shower" with a curtain. Bar fridge not cold enough. Air-con sounded like it was shattering every 5 minutes.
Fantastic view of the Grand Harbour Excellent location Within walking distance of Valletta
Panorama, breakfast, wifi
Modern within old building and very clean.
Doesn't look good externally.
effective airconditioning and excellent view over harbour. Cleaning of room and provision of linen good.
key card was not available when we arrived. had to phone a number of times to get the key issue resolved. Had to walk to a cafe 2 streets away for breaksfast (this was inconvenient and also for older people it would have been very inpractical as the walk involved climbing 2 sets of very steep stone steps. Food was poor - choices poor - continental breakfast was stingy 2 slices of meat and slice of cheese with roll. No fruit provided at all. Cooked breakfast was adequate only. on the last but one day (a Sunday) we asked for a cooked breakfast - cook was not available so we were presented with a breakfast which was virtually inedible. not good value for money (I paid £588 for week). No ironing facilities even though stated in advert that iron would be availble in room. Also no water available when we arrived. I would definitely not recommend this accommodation!
(1) The location was excellent to explore the old city of Valletta (2) Cinzia, who took care of my booking and transport, was very helpful and attentive to our needs. The same goes for the cleaners of our room.
(1) My experience at the hotel ruined my holiday because I did not sleep for 2 nights (and I only stayed there for 2 nights). The reason is that this hotel is in a VERY NOISY ARE. Just underneath the hotel was a very noisy bar with people chatting loudly ourdoors until 1 in the morning at least. EVERY FRIDAY from May to October there s a Jazz festival taking place there with about 80-100 people sitting outdoors and a live Jazz band. Although the music finishes shotly after 12, the noisy people linger on until the early hours of the morning, and after they leave there is hellish noise from the bar staff who move the tables, and other heavy mettallic inftatsructure around to close the shop which means it is impossible to sleep. Plus on a daily basis there are 2 heavy tracks at the same spot noisily delivering drink ctaes manually to the local shops. All this means it is a nightmare and to be avoided if you are not a person who wants to go out during the day and sleep at night!!! (2) Apart from Cinzia and the cleaners of the room, all other staff, including the owner at the cafeteria (Luciano?) where breakfast is offered is detached, unhelpful and possibly overworked. A very complacent manner to run a tourist business. Supposedly this was a boutique hotel but it really wasn't! A pity because the building of this hotel and its place in old Valletta give it tremendous potential!! But you cannot run it like this. By the way there was no reception facility in the hotel!!! The cafeteria at 300 meters uphil a steep road was the headquarters of the hotel. LOL.
The hotel is well located and we had a room with a view of the harbour. The room was a good size, there was enough room for our clothes for a short break. There was air conditioning in the room and it was well decorated. Breakfast was up the hill at the owners restaurant. It was basic, but food all the same! The bathroom was small, but functional.
The air con blew directly onto us on the bed. This is ok for some, but for me it made me rather cold at night, but it was too hot with it off. When we went there was a fireworks festa and Fridays and Saturdays during the summer there is live music. Both these things were rather loud and woke us up even with the windows all shut. Fireworks were fired at all times of day and night, we were woken at 1am and then again at 7am with them! Also there is a bar under the property. This was actually quiet when we were there, but if you had a roudy crowd then I would imagine that it may not be quite so tolerable.
I loved the location, friendly staff and although I had to walk 67 steps every morning to enjoy my breakfast it was well worth it. Mr Luciano is a friendly man who makes his guests feel very special. I loved my Malta experience and would certainly return and stay at the same accommodation.
Mr. Luciano's son certainly needs some PR advise. My friend and I did not like the way he spoke to his staff. He always seems to be in a bad mood. He is in charge of the restaurant where our breakfast was served. Let this not influence your decision to go there because his father certainly makes up in what he lacks.
Located in the centre, large family room with comfortable beds (one double and 2 singles), perfect for a family of 4, fresh orange juice and good coffee for breakfast, able to accommodate early breakfast at request, clear information in the room.
no lift (but soon to be installed), no member of staff on site, bathroom very small, noisy aircon (not sure it was working properly).
Lovely old building with magnificent views. convenient location to all Valletta sights.
Staff a bit vague. Breakfast in nearby restaurant run by the owners (cold toast, cheap sausage and cheese).
The location and space was nice, we had a lovely room looking out to the sea. Apart from the poor breakfast and lack of communication. I would stay here again
The free breakfast is not worth ot at all we were waiting for over an hour and when it arrived it looked like it had been in the dirt. The staff were not very friendly either.
We had an harbour view room, which was fantastic but wouldn't recommend to anyone with a fear of heights or couldn't handle too many stairs. It's right in the heart of Valletta, which is great in the evening. I would certainly recommend going down by the waterfront. Everywhere in Malta is accessible by the bus station 10 minutes away. Rooms are cleaned every day and breakfast (including a full breakfast if you want it) can be got from the sister restaurant around the corner. Great base for our holiday.
Not that I wanted to spend all of my time on holiday watching TV, but ALL of the TV channels are German!
the whole house, a typical town house with stone walls, the view over Great Harbour and its location very close to Barraka Gardens
Delightfully quirky. Fantastic location near the Cathedral and view of Harbour. Good breakfast at Luciano Restaurant. Room small but charming.
Stayed her on first two nights on Malta. Very comfy room. Beautiful view of Grand Harbour. Excellent breakfast next to the Cathedral in the Restaurant of the owner. Fast Wifi. Everything worked.
As with most places in Valletta quite a few steps down from the main square to reach the appartment
Great location. Room was spacious and comfortable for 4. Nice view!
Comfortable bed. Quiet room in a nice setting. Basic but fine.
We were shocked by the rudeness and unfriendly manner of the hotels manager, (our first and only encounter with an unpleasant Maltese). We would not recommend this hotel on this basis.
very good wifi connection beautiful room design
room not as spacious as expected no balcony
The location of this hotel is fantastic. It is in the city center however in a quiet location. We booked a room with a seaview on the 3rd floor and the view is fantastic. I could just sit in the tiny balcony for whole day do nothing. The HKP lady is very friendly and kind.
Valletta is hilly, there is a long staircase leading to the building from the main street, which can be exhausting, especially with a heavy luggage. Breakfast served in their sister hotel which is on the top of the long staircase.
Lovely location and view. Very clean with helpful staff.
The breakfasts were good and served with a smile.
The owner's son was rude, arrogant, and unwilling to recognize serious problems. Instead he repeatedly said it was my fault. Finally his father saw what the problems were. Don't stay at this hotel unless the only other option is to sleep on the street.
The toilet seat was broken. It was slightly confusing when we came to check in as were not aware that we had to check in at the restaurant. Luckily the cleaners were able to let us into the hotel and tell us this.
Great value for money for a small hotel, great breakfast, friendly and efficient staff. Stunning view of the habour, great location close to bars and restaurants and a short walk to the main bus station and access all over the island for a 1.5 Euros for a day bus pass.
Bit of a scare on the morning of our flight home. Taxi booked for 4.15am, arrived after being phoned at 4.45am.
The Hotel is in a perfect location, Good to be aware there are a lot of stairs, but they are planning on adding a lift in the near future. The staff were really helpfull and although the breakfast was taken a short walk up the hill at the Luciano Boutique hotel this did not effect the holiday at all, in fact it was good to have a walk in the morning before eating.Would deffinatley stay again. The rooms at the front are the best with a view over the port.
No tea and coffee in rooms
