Score from 488 reviews Good
Good location just 5 minutes from the city gates, close to the main street. Decent size room and bathroom with many electric sockets. Tea making facilities in the room. Breakfast is quite cheap.
The room faced the inner yard, or rather a ventilation shaft and had no view at all apart from walls and a bit of the sky. And the window was in the corner, and rather small, so there wasn't enough light in the room. Very uncomfortable and hard pillows. Very old and noisy furnishing in the bathroom, and on the first day only a bar of soap was provided, no shower gel or shampoo. No free wifi.
Near the main streets and attractions plus close to ferry to Sliema.
Could do with a wider choice for breakfast. Tiny window
location excellent - attitude of all staff members excellent
Service by Ronaldo was fabulous...Christina should not be in the hospitality industry.
Tremendous Location Cleanliness Views Nice staff nicely updated hotel
Having to pay 5 euro a day extra for spotty WiFi. I stayed in 8 hotels in Sicily and Malta over the past two weeks, and the Osbourne was the only one that charged extra for WiFi. The WiFi service they contracted with was unreliable, and even when it worked, was never faster than 1 mps (usually more like 300-500 kps).
We were so surprised with how pleasant our room and generally how nice the hotel is, really great value for money.
Service in restaurant was a little slow and some restaurant staff were not very professional.
On night of visit bar was not open due to staff shortage. Following morning breakfast offering was poor and badly served
The Osborne provides great location, comfortable bed, hearty breakfast, nice rooftop sitting area.
It's location was ideal for all that we wanted to do. The staff were helpful and friendly.
Renewing the many happy memories we have of Malta from 60 years perspective and countless visits.
The. Crowds, mainly caused by Cruise liners. The many cars negotiating narrow street outside hotel. Over generous portions of food of poor quality. Self choice would have been much better.
Bugs in the room. Towel in dark blue, you can not see how clean is...
We stayed at the same hotel 2 years ago. This time our room was better located with an excellent balcony overlooking a quiet, attractive side street. Very comfortable bed, quiet at night, handy coffee / tea making area, easy to use TV. Very helpful receptionist when we arrived late at night due to delayed flight.
Small room, miniscule shower area making it quite difficult to wash or shower. However shower itself was efficient and easy to use. Compared to our first visit we felt that the food was not quite as good in terms of quality. Breakfast was officially available until 10.00am. If you arrived after approx. 9.00am the fried breakfast was certainly past its best and the fruit salad was virtually finished. On one wet evening the balcony door in our room blew open leaving puddles of water on the room floor. This was only discovered on our return from an evening out. On seeking help from the reception desk they gave us a mop and bucket and we ended up doing the job ourselves. Although the gentleman concerned felt he was being helpful we would have appreciated some follow-up service such as a check to see if we had encountered any more problems. The promised 'manager' was nowhere to be seen.
The hotel was very comfortable and the staff were extremely helpfull. The location of the hotel is excellent.
No complaints at all we had a wonderful time at the Osborne hotel.
Quiet location at "edge" of Valletta - easy to get to bus station/taxi rank. Interesting building history. Our room was big (but the other two rooms for the group were average). Bar staff charming (especially by contrast!)
Cutting corners eg €3 per day for wifi "in the room" - especially as no signal! (had to sit in corridor). [Probably due to corner room location.] Tea/coffee in room but only dried milk and for just two cups ie a cup each. Wouldn't provide tap water in bar/restaurant as "not safe" but no bottled water in the bedroom. Everyone in the group had to have card key reprogrammed.
No wi fi
Poor breakfast. Don't ever have dinner or lunch in the restaurant. Always have to wait at reception because the staff is trying to sell trip tickets to other guests. The shuttle we paid 40 Euro for airport transfer was late for 25 minutes and we had to walk with our luggages to reach to the car 3 blocks away under rain.
Friendliness of this family-run hotel. A change from the boring chains! Decor traditional and nice. Good-value meals provided.
Internet access in the room was not reliable and was charged for. The flakey connection may not apply to all rooms. But why not make it free of charge?
Free wifi should be standard.
Location is within walking distance from the center
- reception woke us up at 8 am on the departure day just to remind us about check out at 12! We had night flight with necessity to go to work straight from the airport and really did not appreciate this!!! - so called service: women at reception very persistently try to sell tours hop on/hop off (17 euro VS 1.5 euro for all Malta buses for the day) - swimming pool was dirty and therefore closed. And it is very small anyway - very small bathroom, it was a challenge to close/open the door in it while being inside - tiny shower cabin, I am XL size and had real troubles - very noisy, you hear everything that happens in rooms or hall - only one european socket in double room - reception could not recomend any place to eat, the one they finally remembered was awfull and very expensive/ touristic. Good restaurants are at Valletta Waterfront btw - beds were not high quality, but not too bad also
Location within Valetta and hotel service are perfect
the water-flow in the bathroom could be more abundant and the room temperature could be higher
Only here for one night as was unable to rebook into old hotel. Location good, very close to main gate and buses. Decorated in a lovely old style downstairs and in foyer areas, though rooms more standard.
The bathroom was a bit tired in parts. Bed bit soft for my liking but may suit some people. Would have been nice to have Wifi and breakfast included in price like most other hotels seem to do.
Had a room with a sea view. Staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel has "character" and is an ideal location if you wish to walk around Valletta.
The top floor small pool area is not promoted by the hotel. It is small.
Staff, especially reception. All staff most helpful Room facilities good General cleanliness is excellent. Breakfast excellent.
Only one very tiny window in a corner of our room. Dinner menu not varied enough. Toast machine too slow.
the very small bathroom/toilet was like a cell!
The bar facilities were poor, they need to open up during the day for just soft drinks - we were unable to get a coffee at 4pm after a long walk and not even water just because they only open at 6. Great location however they need to 'up' their game to keep people returning from a customer service and facilities point of view.
