Palazzo Capua is served by the staff of the Palace Hotel as it is annexed to it. The staff were very welcoming, charming and helpful. For example, a repairman was sent immediately when the tv blew a part. The Christmas Day buffet was delicious and well organised - probably the best Christmas Day lunch on the island. The service in the bar was also very professional and welcoming. For the price paid, almost eur 400 a night, not including breakfast, we hoped for a quiet night's sleep. This was only possible on the nights when no disco/party was organised underneath our room. In addition, some disturbance is caused by Room 808 being beside the car park exit/entrance. Cars also have to drive over a speed bump. Warning: check the breakfast price. Booking.com indicates that breakfast is EUR 14 but we were charged EUR 37 each on New Year's Day without any advance warning. Cheating guests is not a good approach to winning repeat business. This unique sharp practice should be announced ahead of time. No other five star hotel has ever charged us so much for breakfast, even in much more popular destinations such as London, Paris or Versailles. The hotel management is not quite in touch with reality when it comes to its pricing policy.
