Breathtaking views from the self catering apartments highlighted our stay.perfect for couples who are taking the whole family. Value for money I'd say.keep up the reasonable prices pergola hotel and we will keep coming back! Thanks!
Great location, very helpful staff, really nice breakfast and nice facilities. Liked the option to purchase vouchers for various restaurants in the town.
I cannot recall anything we wouldn't like in the Pergola.
location, close to bus station and beach, beautiful view from the balcony, well equiped kitchen
the heat system didn't work, so my husband announced the receptionist twice, but nobody came to fix it. so we spend the night well dressed and covered with blankets, and next day we told again to the lady from the reception, and in the evening she told us (when we asked her) that there is no one there who can fix the problem, but to wait another day when the maintenance guy is expected. finally, we get used to sleep in the cold, so we didn't insist anymore... anyway, nobody bother to solve the problem in the next 6 days, but they were very nice and friendly and seem to care a lot. :)another thing, safe and wifi are not free of charge.
I liked it a lot even though I am from Malta. The views are magnificent, the meals are very appetizing. Good value for money.
Facilities, position, value for money, superb spa.
Hard to say
Ants and cockroaches in the room, noisy elevator, view of the room at a garbage area, room not available at 16:00 for check in. Far away from the island attractions, more than 1 hour with the bus to Sliema/Valletta.Not a 4 star hotel. I requested matrimonial bed I received two singles...
Some if the staff were particularly helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great and good value but we thought the evening meal for a family was quite pricy. The location was lovely although it must be noted that the hotel is at the too if a very steep hill.
Poor sofa bed. Furnishings a little tired.
Great location Excellent room for large family Great food Great staff
Small swimming pools but the beach is nearby
Location and friendly staff
Multi floor complex layout. Unobtainable maintenance help despite several requests via Reception. Cold bain maries at breakfast, 'dead' toasters.
The studio apartment was spacious, the bed linen tip-top. The bathroom fixtures were modern and efficient and the overall impression was of a very clean room. Garage space available at a very, very modest daily fee.
The air-co is noisy and inefficient seeing that the temperature could not be controlled and the overhead fan was rickety. Access is complicated either on foot or by car.
The hotel refused to honour the offer I received in writing at reservation of breakfast at €5. Instead I was offered a half bottle of wine with dinner. The A/C in the kitchen didn't work, and although the repair guy was said to have come by to fix it, no A/C function was noticed during the day time. Some nights, in the middle of the night the A/C seemed to start up and made a lot of noise. But the main thing is that when I receive an offer and the hotel refuses to honour the offer, I won't be coming back, and I won't recommend the hotel.
Excellent Staff. Good location.
A bit tired. Needs a make-over.
Good hotel, probably just about deserves its 4 stars, but needs to work hard to retain them as some aspects could be improved on (pool cleanliness, standard of air conditioning in rooms). The sea view was stunning and the best feature of the room (in fact, without it my review would probably have been less positive).
Found three cockroaches in our room and feel staff could have dealt with it more efficiently. The hotel tries too hard to sell extras at every opportunity.
The staff was really friendly and the apartment is comfortable! We had an amazing view to the church in front of us with the sunset. The pools are fantastic, the bus stops are nearby, even the sandy beaches in walking distance.
Rooms to dark and not enough wardrobe space
The location is good for access to the town and to transport. Parking is easy and plentiful. Staff are great and very helpful. Room facilities were good with clean towels when requested. Kitchen facilities were adequate with instructions for the microwave/oven combination. There was some really good entertainment on some evenings. Good budget hotel.
The hotel is on a steep hill with access at the bottom of the steps. Many guests were not told about the access at the bottom of the steps which thankfully I already knew about. The bed was awful - it was a sofa bed and you could feel support bars. I am 5'5" and my feet hung over the end. My 6' husband really suffered. The smoking policy is bizarre: 2 ashtrays by one pool and only one by the other. Not all smokers flick their ash everywhere and grind out cigarettes on the floor! And these were the only smoking areas. The lack of ashtrays meant that the areas could get quite unpleasant. No smoking on balconies even though a smoking area was directly under our balcony so what difference would it have made? The restaurants were quite expensive when compared to restaurants in the town. Other guests had problems, one couple being charged extra to change rooms when their sliding door glass was broken and the a/c did not work.
Location was excellent, and its not too much expensive. Very calm and with swimming pools outside and inside. Polite staff. Muy bien localizado y no demasiado caro. Tranquilo y con piscinas. Una gente muy educada.
Well by the first side, the "Spa" included in the price is just a swimming pool and the rest of the Spa (fot he one you must pay) is just an hidromassage and a massarge room. The rooms are unconfortable and the "King size bed" are 2 beds together. We find THOUSANDS OF ANTS in the room and their answer to that was leaving us an spray to kill them. The door of the bathroom was broken. Poor quality of the cleaning service. Very disappointing. Decepcionante
Though reception did offer our money back for the food pack, we still needed food to eat so asked to have the pack. Eventually we received a pack made up fron the hotel kitchens, and the hotel also gave us a complimentary bottle of red wine. We would like to praise all the hotel staff in general. I have been in many hotels, but staff at the Pergola all exceed the expectations of the guests.Thoughout ,the hotel was always very clean. Staff members came to our room to see if all was O.K. I mentioned a couple of items, one being the bathroom door difficult to open and close due to wood swelling. Within hours it was fixed.Reception staff were very helpful whenever we needed help, including printing instructions for journeys using local bus services, and when our transport was late to return back to the airport, the reception staff was excellent in chasing up where the transport was at 00.30 in the morning.
Ordered a food pack to be in our self catering apartment on arrival as we were arriving early hours Sunday morning, but wasn't there and needed to chase this up.
Very helpful staff.clean and very nice pool area. We were given a room next to the pool which we had requested for. Everything was fine breakfast etc. Keep it up.
The fact that wifi is not free through out the hotel you have to go to reception.
Lovely view from our balcony. Nice staff - especially serving staff (waiters/waitresses). Quite near the main street of the town. Two minutes to bus stop.
Facilities not quite up to scratch (fridge that didn't really work very efficiently, toilet and bath leaking, air conditioning in bedroom non effective). Lot af "night noise" from generator or some sort of machinery. Public terrace/bar/pool area filled on the one night by a local private function. Residents were not told to stay away but the noise and number of guests made it impossible for hotel guests to use the area - strange hotel hospitality!
Nice pools Nice views
No room service after 10pm..not even at 10.04pm! No launderette anymore..external laundry service very expensive..€5 to wash a pair of shorts! Very tired decor in room No double matresses..two single beds pushed together with a double sheet...very uncomfortable Bad air con
Our booking was mixed up at the Pergola, and so we were told that our booking included dinner and breakfast. We had thought that we just booked for breakfast, so we did check twice with the staff and were assured that dinner was included. During our second night, a member of staff came over to us and asked us to check our booking with reception. We were then informed that there had been a mistake with the booking and we would have to pay for the dinners we had eaten. Naturally we were unhappy about this, as we had been assured twice that we did have the dinner as well, and the food was sub-standard anyway. It was really the attitude of the staff that was disappointing as we had been made to feel like we were stealing. Poor service in that respect.
Staff very welcoming and friendly, especially James and steve the waiters. Receptionist very helpful nothing to much bother. Breakfast was very good and food in restaurant was lovely. Rooms kept very clean.
No pool side activities for children
The awesome view from our balcony to the sea and to Mellieha Church; Room was spacious and on the top floor; The place of the hotel - a bit further from the main street, Hotel on the hill; The kettle, tea and coffee packs in the room. Bathroom - I haven't seen another rooms of this hotel, but in our room bathroom was recently refitted (I think so), with nice, good equipment and cleanness
The same breakfast all the time of our stay; Rooms were clean but could be cleaned better - the armchair with stains is not suitable for the 4* hotel; Bed-clothes were with some black spots, it were clean but also were not expected in the 4* hotel.
Staff friendly and helpful
