Pergola Club Hotel & Spa  

La posizione dell'hotel è buona e la struttura è bella. La cittadina Mellieha è tranquilla e carina. Noi abbiamo alloggiato in appartamento. Ottima scelta: pulito, luminoso, spazioso e con una bella vista. Anche le zone comuni: piscine, reception sono ben tenute. Molto comodi gli ascensori che collegano I diversi piani con l'esterno in modo da evitare le tante scale e le ripide salite.

La connessione wifi nel nostro appartamento è stata un disastro. Al nostro arrivo ci hanno dato la password ma dovevamo uscire fuori dall'appartamento per avere la connessione. In più nessuno ci ha comunicato che era gratuita soltanto per un'ora. Successivamente abbiamo pagato (non poco) ma niente da fare, eravamo costretti ad uscire sempre dall'appartamento. Anche per quanto riguarda l'orario della spa, allucinante... Se si vuole visitare l'isola è praticamente impossibile usufruire di tale servizio. Inoltre il personale della spa non è per niente gentile, danno poche spiegazioni per quanto riguarda l'uso delle strutture. Il giorno della nostra partenza ho chiesto in reception il servizio sveglia. Per fortuna che anche io avevo la mia sveglia se non probabilmente avremmo perso l'aereo. L'avviso sveglia telefonico è pressoché impercettibile. E' veramente un peccato che queste disattenzioni influiscano negativamente in questa struttura che altrimenti potrebbe essere decisamente migliore.

Appartamento N. 3 ampio e comodo con bellissima vista amche se non prende mai il sole.Caldo ed in inverno è importante! Letti comodi.

Internet a pagamento e prendeva solo in bagno. Anche se nelle aree comuni doveva essete gratis! Elettrodomestici e bagno malridotti.

L'hotel è perfetto per chi vuol stare fuori dalla confusione delle grandi città come Bugibba: si trova in un piccolo paesino molto tranquillo, ma per la sera si trovano karaoke, bar e ristoranti in abbondanza. La posizione dell'hotel è ottima, un ascensore conduce direttamente al livello della fermata dell'autobus evitandovi le scale. Lo staff è molto disponibile e gentile e vi aiuterà a programmare qualsiasi escursione desideriate. Parlano un po' di italiano. Sotto l'hotel troverete un ottimo centro di scuba diving, dove potrete prenotare un'immersione con gli istruttori anche se non avete il brevetto (ve la consiglio!!). Vicino all'hotel troverete vari supermercati (vi consiglio quelli della via principale) e negozi. Come appartamento dovevamo avere un monolocale, ma ci è stato dato un appartamento molto più spazioso, con salotto, cucina, bagno e una camera. Tutte le camere hanno il balcone. La cucina è fornita di tutto, compreso strofinaccio, spugne e detersivo per I piatti. In bagno troverete sia sapone che bagnoschiuma. Tutti gli ambienti sono molto spaziosi e luminosi, ed hanno ognuno un condizionatore indipendente. Nell'hotel ci sono due piscine, una piscina interna con idromassaggio, una palestra, due ristoranti e un bar. Ogni giorno organizzano cene a tema, a volte con musica dal vivo. E' disponibile la connessione wifi gratuita. Per raggiungere la spiaggia vi consiglio vivamente di utilizzare l'autobus verso Cirkewwa (si ferma davanti alla Mellieha Bay), altrimenti vi aspetta una lunga scarpinata sotto il sole!! Gli autobus passano spesso e fino a tardi, quindi non avrete problemi a muovervi senza la macchina (che vi sconsiglio visto la pessima guida dei maltesi e le strade messe malissimo..).

C'è una postazione internet nell'hotel, ma ha prezzi allucinanti: 2,50 € per mezz'ora!! Portatevi il vostro pc, così potete utilizzare il wifi gratuitamente. In più per ogni pagina di fotocopia/stampa che richiedete vi faranno pagare altri 0,20 cent.. Essendo un hotel 4 stelle dai prezzi alti mi sembra assurdo! La pulizia non è sempre perfetta, una volta mancava il tappeto e ogni tanto capelli e briciole non venivano raccolti del tutto. La piscina interna è molto fredda, così come l'idromassaggio, quindi vi consiglio quelle esterne. A mezzogiorno è aperto solo il Cave Bar, piccolo e sempre pieno. Le piscine chiudono alle 19.00 o alle 20.00, cosa veramente assurda dato che sono ben illuminate. Il check-out alle 10.00 non permette nemmeno di godersi un'ultima volta la piscina o il mare.

We stayed in one of the apartments in this hotel, and it was brilliant. We had a kitchen/diner, bathroom, bedroom, lounge and balcony - much more spacious than we were expecting! The kitchen was very well-equipped with everything you could need. The room was kept absolutely spotless. We didn't really use the other facilities of the hotel - we swam in the indoor pool, which was small but nice, and it was too cold to swim in the outdoor pool! But there was a really nice sun terrace which our room over-looked, with views out to the coast and Gozo. We didn't eat in the restaurant, as there are so many other restaurants in the town which are much better value for money. The location is nice as well: Mellieha has quite a few nice restaurants, as well as supermarkets for self-catering, and is very convenient for the ferry over to Gozo. There are good bus connections to everywhere else in Malta as well. We really enjoyed our stay here, and would definitely stay again.

Some of the decor was a little shabby, but nothing major.

It was a good location in terms of been a nodal point for all the major attractions/ towns. A journey was no more than 40 mins and buses were frequent. The people were very nice and helpful. It is not a major tourist spot which is wonderful as you are not overrun by them.

The choice of food it very limited. Abundant choice of Italian pasta and pizza but not much else. It was, at the weekends rather noisy, not from the locals mind you but from other tourists. Oh and the church bells. They are very fond of ringing church bells from early morning!

Staff is very nice and friendly. Food in the restaurant or for the breackfast is good.

The rooms are noisy : there is a constant noise from ventilation . This noise doesn't come from the room itself !

Hot water supply may take too long to arrive early mornings since our apartment was situated far away from the boiler. Very few tv channels and remote was not fully functional. A/C Heater didn't work

We complained on the day we arrived that : - there was no tv in the toom. We were promised that we were going to have one by evening. no tv was supplied for the entire 3 days we stayed in even tghough we kept on being promised that we were going to have one. - the telephone in the room did not work - wires coming out from the ceiling in the ceiling. Complained about it nothing was done. - bed linen sheets were covered in mascara from previous clients.

Staying at this hotel is very budget friendly, staff is very helpful and there's a breathtaking view from most of the rooms. Very recommended and would return for sure.

Tv was useless in the room as there were just 2 channels available and it's not fair for those people going there to relax in bed watching television.

Hotel to ok casual guests who took over pool very early in the morning and did not consider residents .On one day we had to leave the pool area at 4pm because there was a private bbq .

Hotel in nice place. Apartments were OK and clean. Two renovated bathrooms. Swimming pool was great for kids. Food in hotel restaurant was really good and not expensive. Generally it wasn't overcrowded or at ;least there was no such a feeling. It's good if 3 star for you OK, as 4 star are only on paper. If you are relaxed person - go there. If you want to get services which are put on internet - don't go to Pergola. I am relaxed one so for us it was OK.

Hotel apartments look much worse that in internet pictures. All rooms and equipments are quite old fashioned and shabby. Hotel public places are much better (swimming pool, restaurant, reception and etc.). Air conditioning is very old, loud working but not very effective (after two days water started to leak from ceiling in bathroom and it wasn't fixed up even after calling to receptionist). On Sundays they don't clean rooms. Swimming pool is small, fits only for kids and is closed form 7 PM. On terrace near swimming pool each evening there is some theme party with musicians so if you don't take part in it for extra money you won't have calm evening. So generally you shouldn't expect 4 stars. It's not more than 3 stars and it seems it's getting each year worse and worse.

Comfortable, spacious room with beautfiul view.

Air conditioning wasn't quite cold enough. Room wasn't thoroughly serviced - beds weren't made up properly, almost as if someone had been interrupted while cleaning and had forgotten to go back and finish.

Very helpful staff. Very good service at the restaurant. Mandy Jo is the best receptionist I have ever met, she was very quick with help, tried to solve all problems for the guests pleasure. Great location, though far from beaches but it's better than to live near sea far from real maltese life in Mellieha village.

Four stars are just drawn by some optimist :) The hotel needs a renovation a a complete remake of aircon system. We couldnt sleep normally because of terrible work of so call ac that is in fact a kind of ventilator. A bathroom has a broken faucet, unfixed shower holder, a toilet sink has a handle that needs to be moved several times before any effect. However, a cleaning was very good, though the very first day we entered an apartment with dirty floor but it was cleaned soon after our request. Overall, it's not bad hotel for maltese standards :) but looks like the management does not want to improve anything in ac and renovation because tourist would come to Mellieha anyway and there is not much to choose from hotels in Mellieha.

The air-conditioning was no air-conditioning at all! It was just a ventilation system and it could not cool the room because the heat outside was way too much! But it was not an air-conditioner... That's sure and for this reason they should not advertise as 4-star because it's not. A lot of clients were complaining just about this!!!

We found the Pergola Club Hotel and Spa very comfortable and convinient. We only stayed on night and had to leave before 10:00 am the next day. We did not stay long enough to provide a more detailed review. The apartment was clean and provided the facilities required.

The only problem experienced was sufficient hot water. Found that the hot water was not sufficient for 5 adults.

the view to the bay and the church, the spa was also excellent.

We like the room, and the staff most of all.

We didn't like the indoor pool it wasn't that much warm.

The half board tariff is excellent value with a wide choice of menu both for breakfast and dinner.

The limited time access to the Wifi.......only free for one hour.

Staff were extremely helpful..Breakfast was lovely. Family apartment was equipped with everything you may need for self catering and very clean. Immediately upgraded apartment due to small leak in plumbing behind false ceiling tile. Indoor pool area very warm and extremely relaxing. Had such a great time that we immediately booked to return in July :)
