Hotel has standard rooms 23 (without sofa) and 35 metres (with sofa) but price is the same. Reception has informed us that a room with twin bed is available only with extra charge (70 eur per night). There are some rooms with kitchen and sunny-side accommodation but the windows are locked, so not able to ventilate (even booking.com hotel's description says that there is balkon in every room). The toilet tank is typed in not enough water (small volume), so it can be some unpleasant moments in mornigs if more than one person lives in room. Hotel's beach is very- very small. Impression is - it is 4 stars hotel, not 5.

Bed, Bedding and pilows excellent. Kitchenette concept in the rooms was surprising and good. Hotel was generally well maintained and clean. As a very, very seasoned and experienced global traveller I found this hotel ok but very poor value for Money. Eu666 for 4 nights would pay for a 5 star hotel.....this is not 5 star and would scrape a 3 star in other countries. Cost of food was extortionate (simple meal by the pool was 3 times the price for an identical meal, 200 metres away on the beach!!). Prices in the hotel shop were unecessarily high - wine was twice the price of local shops) Some very poor, surly and unhelpful staff around the swimming pool. I doubt I would stay here again given the pricing. Revise the costs and I would return.

Peace and quiet and the quality of the food at Essence Restuarant which was superb. Management and staff were very good too. the fact that the room was not cleaned until 16.00 and that it was not easy to use the mini bar

The location was great Too many people.Towels on the beach were a disgrace - I wouldn't even use them to wash my car.Sun chairs were full and I suspect other beach goers were using them.It just didn't feel like a 5 Star hotel.

We were especially attracted to the tranquil location and relaxed atmospher, would choose to go there again but it's too expensive. The room was not spick and span for the price we paid. There was dust on the coving, especially on the balcony door. The a/c needed cleaning and there were cobwebs in some places. Also some areas in the public areas need attention.

An excellent hotel. Great staff, food, rooms, spa, services. Good little location and private beach away from all the noise but easy to get to other places on the island. Would definitely recommend people stay here. Only downside was lack of drinking water in the room. We had to buy it which is not cheap in Malta.

It s a really great hotel. One can find every thing one needs, to relax and enjoy his stay. Staff is very friendly and helpfull.the room is always clean and tidy. Three things I am disappointed about is that to go to the indoor pool one has to go from outside. In morning it s ok but in the evrening it gets to cold for a child to go out .and that the children can use it only till 12.00 in morning and from 19.00 in the evening. On tv set there was no maltese channel.maybe it s because they turned digital?and last on check in I was given a paper of the restaurants I can find in the hotel.it was stated that aligolio, kids eat free with two adults before 19.00.unfortunatly I had to pay cause my kid took a normal pizza.on the hotel paper it was not stated that kids have to eat from the kids menu.maybe you can arrange that noteut over all it was really great staying there.thanks.

Excellent views, food and hotel. Spa isvery good as well Crowded pools, noisy, locals occupying timeshare appartments lower the standards of the hotel environment and may make your holiday miserable.......they have no respect for other hotel residents and finish up almost owning the whole place!!....so if you're looking for a quiet relaxing hotel...think twice!!

Beautiful location at Golden Bay. Pools are great, dinner at Essence is amazing. Kids loved the many water sports available such as swimming, parakiting, jetskiing, banana. Mom and grandma loved the spa. One of our beds was very uncomfortable.

I love going there, it was not my first time, its a high class hotel where you can relax & enjoy a break with family and friends!! I definately did not like parking in a field, where i had to leave my car unnatended for 2 days and had to walk all the way to the hotel carrying my luggage in a 35 degrees temperature!!!

I had to pay for my hotel room for the entire stay upon my arrival. Absolutely unacceptable in my view. Even getting a late check out (of an hour later) required speaking to the Front Office Manager on duty who allowed it with great reluctance.

the facility to self cater in the room was an added bonus. Rooms are very spacious. Entertainer was trying to compete with a champions league match, both those trying to listen to him and those trying to watch the football were not quite happy.
