i paid for a balcony and i received an exit on the street. it was to much noise we had bugs old furniture and bed sheets ugly smell
Rooms were clean, bright, I was happy to be in the quieter part of the hotel as a solo traveller. Jack's Bar next door do have the nicest staff every time I went!!! Great pools, a nice hotel all in all for the price!!
Staff either appeared harassed, irritable or disinterested mostly. there were some friendly members, but fewer than most (maintenance and cleaning staff- great!) Also, breakfast doesn't really involve a lot of fresh produce such as fruit, which I found disappointing.
As a group of scuba divers we only used the hotel for sleeping however the pools and other facilities looked good and restaurant evening meals looked to be good though not tried. Location very near to bars and restaurants.
Very noisy main road with traffic and late night bar. No air conditioning so patio door left open all night.
Its central location
Noisy air condition Air condition not available throughout the day; at times it was too hot and stuffy. No telephone set in room It desperately needs a refurbishment A hotel which still charges for WIFI is conceptually backwards.
Friendly staff Excellent position Cleanliness reasonably priced Good choice of food Good entertainment
TV had no sound No glasses (although they were provided when we asked for them) One had to pay extra for bacon and sausages for breakfast Wish breakfast was at least half an hour earlier (say 7am)
the Price and the location is excellent
I always request a double bed, never get it, last I was told I cant get a double bed trough Booking.com, why not ?
The pool when it was clean
Poor reception service, the amenities were below standard. The hotel so called air -conditioning was useless especially as it on came on from 3pm til midnight then we requested some fans but were told that we should have them in our rooms but there weren't any yet the second apartment did. It was a very noisey hotel
The pool was lovely, good size and kept clean. The bar staff where the friendliest in the hotel and the entertainment in the evening was good.
The all inclusive was not as inclusive as made out to be. unable to get any food after 8pm. The air con in the rooms was insufficient, and the mattresses and pillows where very uncomfortable.
In one word: they lie on booking about facilities. DO NOT GO, you will regret. - we received rooms that are not close to the once from booking photos (totally bad) - air conditioner not working - really small beds (for kids) - personal from reception was like in their first day at that hotel - overbooked - a lot of people didn't get a room - we had to cancel, fight to receive our money back, and to search another hotel there
The 'quiet' room I requested was away from the noisy clientele, the restaurant, pool, nightclub etc and it was definitely quiet
I was at the end of a corridor and was serviced last every day. This meant they ran out of bath towels EVERY single day. I had to go to Reception each evening to get one and was often handed just a hand towel. I also purchased the optional tea tray and had to plead every day to get tea bags. Poor customer service
When we made the reservation is what the third most cheapest place in Malta.
- the towels were not so clean - the aer conditioner wasn't actually doing anything - the TV was not working - the room was at the street level, so we weren't able to sleep or leave the windows open, it was like in a bunker.
Staff are so friendly and hospitable. Receptionist Maria and restaurant manger Raymond are so good staff. Facilities in hotel are good. Location of hotel is excellent. Jackes bar has a good environment too. Dinner buffet is quiet nice.
No air condition in room and lots of Mosquitos. Swimming pools are so dirty and really cleaned every day. Breakfast is so poor and nothing to eat.
The so called airconditioning was almost non existent. It was only working a few hours during the day, and even then, only making the room a couple of degrees cooler. Nothing even near real aircontioning.
Great for teenagers, lots of language students staying there
- Logistics work well in the area. Hotel is very central, 5 mins away from the shops, main square and rocky beaches. - Although the Bugibba/St. Pawl il-bahar (St. Paul's Bay) area is an hour away by bus from Valletta, 20min to St. Julian and 35min to Mdina and Rabat, it is crowded with shops and restaurants which make it a proper holiday destination.
- Lack of proper cleaning of the bedroom during my stay - Air conditioning which wasn't cold at all (although bedrooms are equipped wig electric fans to keep them cool). - Staff helpful but not always very friendly
Close to sea and that' it.
No air conditioning! Lots of kids on holidays. Poor food.
We've spent 7 nights there and during the day we were touring around the island. The Hotel is excellent if You're about to get good sleep and go for a trip during the day. Rooms very simple, quite dark, quite comfortable beds, cleaned every day. Breakfast very simple but good enough so You won't be hungry (and there was no problem to prepare youself some sandwitches for a take away) also the dinner simple but always can find something good to eat. At 9PM there're some singing enttertainment next to the pool, so You can grab a dring and listen to the music. Swimmingpool not bad, always some free beds.I've seen a cockroach twice at the swimmingpool area at night, but that's all. About 7minutes walk to the bus station and the same to the nearest square and rocky beach. It takes about an 1,5h to get there b bus from the airport. In the summary if You don't excpect luxury and want to visit the island through Your stay it's a good place to stay.
Could get some renovation however we didn't mind it. The dinner could last longer
staff not very helpful. maybe because too busy a hotel. room at front and because the main road was at the front traffic all night could not get much rest .Pool was always full.
Ordered a double room, found a twin room. We ended joining the mattresses together ourselves after calling reception and no one came... After that, we called another 3 times so they can bring double bed sheets instead of single ones, and in the last one I also expressed my wish to have a nap before going out and needed the sheets asap afther 3 hours... No one cared, we slept with single bed sheets during the night and got the sheets the morning after we saw the room service lady... The air-condition was malfunctioned, when we turned it on we found that water was dropping all over, we called for the maintenance guy three times, even saw him on the floor before we went out, and they sent him to check it out after I went down to the reception complaining once again. They told us they will check it again the following morning, at 11 o' clock, and without any surprise, no one came... They came back only after my girlfriend went to reception to complain once again... They came back and told us they had fixed the air-condition,and to our amazement the aircondition only works between 3pm and 12am approx... Nothing was mentioned in the reviews that the air-conditioning system would be on only for a few hours, and in reality it was not an air condition, it was only a fan... They also gave us a fan on our request and it was very very dirty... At the end of this nightmare, we went to checkout, and the only thing they had replied was, DONE, they didn't even bother to ask how did the weekend go... Very disappointing experience.
Good location, close to most things in the area. Nice pool and bar.
The Wi-fi was not free, and it barely even worked in my room. When I asked the staff at the reception about this, they only told me "you have to go somewhere else in the hotel". As a result, I often had to sit in the hallway outside my room when I used my laptop. The lunch and the breakfast buffet were a bit lackluster, but I guess that's quite common for All Inclusive deals. Generally, the staff seemed confused and inexperienced at times, but at least they were friendly most of the time.
The hotel is close to the bus station, seafront. Near hotel is more cafe & restorants
Breakfast is unsatisfactory.
Opted for all inclusive......I had to select from a burger, a plate of pasta or a pizza while those on HB had a buffet. Also I have paid for the wifi and it was not working in my room. Old hotel.
If you are going to visit Malta for this country beauty and hotel use to sleeping - Mugibba Hotel is well selection. Cheap & great located.
Comparing some shortcomings with the price it would be impolitely to write that we was unsatisfied!
