The family-run Lantern Guest House is set in Marsalforn Gozo, a few steps from the beach. It offers a restaurant and rooms with a balcony.
Score from 186 reviews Very good
Nice house, clean, with a shared kitchen and shared living room. Perfect to meet people. Near from the terminal bus (20 min to walk), the place, in a typical street, is perfect to feel the village life.
The situation on the island is geographically quite central, but it's more convenient to get a car. The room is big enough and confortable. It's really good to have shared kitchen and fridge. The house is well furbished and nice decorated.
Good Value Clean Better than it look son photos! Nice Place - Quiet Lovely roof terrace Use of kitchen for self catering Helpful staff
Location is good but in small town without much in immediate vicinity if you don't have your own transport No air con (though fan provided) was hot at night
Good facilities, good value for money, convinient location and would love to go back..
No designated parking area.
the space, the cleanliness, the staff, the comforts.
considering the temperatures in summer would have prefered an AC.
Perfectly comfortable place to stay
Owner is not there to greet guests, instead we were greeted by some french guests (one of which an old man in his underwear!) who turned us away (I think they thought they had rented the whole property). Also there is no sign saying it is a hotel/guesthouse, wasn't easy to find as the road is a long one.
The staff was really nice and offered help whatever we might need. Use of fridge and common kitchen was very useful. Quiet and peaceful place. Outdoor terrace with built BBQ is a nice feature.
Depending on what you are looking for the village where the guest house is located is very quiet and you might have some troubles to get to the more vibrant places if you don't have a car. There is a fan in the room though no AC, which during summer time is hard to stand. The shower was tiny.
Rustic, for adventure, mix with small village residents, clean. Guest house. Remember to buy your food and reserve time to cook and clean if staying there.
Too warm in the room even with nfthe fun noise from the street is unbearable with motors crossing all the time. No wifi in the room (poor signal). Shower room n.3 very small and not comfortable. Buses frequency is each 2h. 2 buses needed to go somewhere. No recepcionist available.
clean & helpful
Excellent welcoming by Joseph and his wife. Very clean. Lots of space at the kitchen downstairs and at the terrasse 1st floor. Modern equipment, personnalized decoration. Situated in a quiet residential zone, 5 min walk to the Dome of Xiewkija (parish church) where the most frequent bus to Victoria / M'garr stops.
Light street traffic, but a bit noisy at some hours.
Thanks Joseph for picking is up from the bus station and for his prompt help throughout our stay.
Very cosy room, nice terrase and big kitchen. Balcony in the room and it was the cheapest price on Gozo. Very hospitable owner.
* nice, clean studio with all the necessary facilities * friendly and helpful owner (thank you, Joseph!) * nice shaded front of the house (great to take a breakfast in) * authenticity of the place, far away from tourist industry
* as mentioned in some previous reviews, the narrow street was quite noisy, but..well.. that's what all the Xewkija's inhabitants can hear in their houses :)
