The Palace  

飲まなかったdrinkが請求書にあった。

まず、立地が良かった。スーパーも近くにあるし、海辺のレストラン街まで徒歩圏内というのが助かりました。- 今回はレンタカーでの移動でしたが駐車場も完備されていて非常に便利でした。最上階のプールも大きくはない- がゆったりできるスペースが広く十分くつろぐことができた。アジアンレストランが併設されており、夜はバレ- ッタの街を眺めながらの食事を楽しめ、プールサイドでのランチも十分堪能できた。

お部屋についての設備や清潔感は問題ないが、お部屋の清掃後にタオルが補充されてないことがたびたびあった- 。近くのスタッフに言うと、今持ってないからある分で我慢して…などの対応でがっかりさせられた。 レストランやフロントスタッフの対応は良かったが、なまった英語で早口で説明された時には少し戸惑いを感じ- た。

フロントの方々の対応は親切で、「おいしいレストランはどこ？」と聞くと、予約してくれました。

バス停まではそんなに離れてはいませんが、他のホテルに比べると若干不便だなと感じました。フットワーク軽- く「さぁ、次○○行く前に一度ホテル寄ろう」と思える距離ではありませんでした。

The Superior rooms were of a modern design and were very clean & well kept during our stay. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast choice was good but the breakfast room was uninspiring and had no views of any note. The views from the 9th floor pool 'deck' looking towards Valletta however were good and the infinity pool very good, but the balcony views (our room was on the fourth floor) were of scruffy back street housing.

There were problems at check in. The receptionist (incorrectly) told us we had cancelled our booking and it took 30 minutes for her to find that we were booked in under my first name not our second (surname) name. This may have been an error on the part of the Hotel or Booking.com. The 'public rooms' were small and dated. The inside ground floor restaurant was very small and only had ten tables available during our stay. At eight pm these were all occupied and we had to wait an hour to be able to sit down to eat. The outside restaurant/bar lounge area (next door) was cold (there were gas wall heaters but these were not switched on) and occupied by all the guests who liked to smoke with their meals/bar drinks. The meal, when it eventually came at nine fifteen was overcooked and not as described. The Bar/Restaurant staff tried to make a joke of the situation but failed. The hotel is situated a ten minute walk from Sliema front (and public transport) up or down a steep hill. Bars and restaurants as alternative venues to the Hotel are further away on foot. The Sliema Ferry to Valletta is a 15 min walk away.

Great rooms but in a quiet location in town. As soon as you get your bearing thoigh, the hotel is great. More of a business hotel than a "back packers" place to stay.

Check your bill upon departure, ours had some extras on such as pool towels. No other complaints at all.

The staff was good and the pool was nice.

Smokers everwhere!!! Pool was nice but the smokers ruined it. There was no way to escape all the smokers for fresh air while laying out by the pool or while dining. The hall carpets were filthy and the room needed a couple of minor repairs.

The location was excellent. Short walking distance from all of the restaurants and bars on the sea front. Very clean and spacious rooms. Maid service friendly and efficient.

Our stay at the Palace was wonderful. The staff are so welcoming and Mr Messina, the Hotel manager, has to be the most customer focused and conscientious of the staff. He was friendly, kind and interested to know that our stay was a happy and memorable one. The room was second to none with really comfortable beds and a real boutique feel. Tempt Asian restaurant on the roof was such a tasty experience. We ended up dining there for 3 nights of the weeks stay! I would reccommend this hotel highly.

The only downside has to be the fact that is on a hill which is ok if you hire a car but if not it's a bit of a climb back up. We were in the high 30's though, so it was hotter than usual.

The best hotel we have stayed out during our 2 month holiday- it was modern, spacious friendly excellent staff, great pools.

The hotel is very comfortable with several dining options. The dining areas are very smart and comfortable. What is particularly noticeable is the training staff have received. Little things are attended to vey carefully - for exampe, when a table is being cleared or set, you do not hear a rattle of delph or cutlery. Everything is done quietly. All staff most courteous.This is our second time in the hotel. The half board option was quite good. Last time we sought out - and walked long distances to - the best restaurants we could find. None would have been worth that walk/trouble when within the hotel we had option of buffet evening meal or TemptAsian restaurant, beautifully positioned on roof with great views. All in all, a great hotel.

Central location for both Sliema and St Julians - both were walking distance.

Housekeeping was irratic. No pillowslips one day; only one hand towel on another. They never turned up before 10 am on any day except our last day when we wanted a bit of a sleep in - they were knocking on the door at 0830.Also they arranged a taxi for us to St Julians - it was an agreed rate of 14e. We then realised that we could walk it in 15 minutes and our taxi to the airport (same company) was only 22e for a 30 minute drive.

good breakfasts - although expensive at 14euro! Facilities were good, with 2 pools and the gym. Staff seemed very eager to please

Our room was rather down at heel considering it was supposed to be a delux room. You could see the effect they were going for, with all the dark wood etc but all this dark wood was either damaged or dirty! The headboard on the right hand side was very 'stained - bleached' it would not take much to have touched it up. Also the shower had no door or screen which made for a need for lots of towels!

Good response of room service. Very good view from the roof swimming pool. Good porters

An elevtor was not working. It was actually locked. I asked them unlocked but didn't. I had to lift my pushchare up the stairs. I felt my baby was not safe. In the morning of checkout day, a cleaner came into my room suddenly without knocking and asked me "what time will you leave?". I could not believe such kind of manners.
