The inside swimming pool was nice. Disappointing is the only word we can think of. Our first impression, when we walked in was cold and uninviting. This was reinforced when we were asked to pay the bill up-front by the receptionist on checking in. When we entered our room my wife wondered if we should ask fer our money back and book another place in the morning! We asked them if they would changed us to a double room as opposed to the twin room we were in. We were told that they would put the two single beds together and a double mattress. We aggreed to this. But, after a second reminder next day, what they did was pulled the two beds together and put a sheet over them. If we attempted to get close together, the beds moved appart, so,for the 1st time after 35 years married ( it was our anniversary) we spent the week in seperate beds. Breakfast seemed like miles away from our room which was actually accross the street in another building joined by a tunnel under the road. When we eventually found the restruant ( one of the staff didn't know where it was) very badly arranged, and again staff very unhelpful. We had breakfast there only two mornings because it was such an annoying experience. There was a "guests relations" desk in the reception area, but there was nobody there at any time to discuss anything with. The inside swimming pool looked nice but was small, the outside one was a disgrase, and there a bar up there and to order a drink, you have to go to a table/chair cashier away from the bar, tell the lady what drinks you wanted, pay for it. Then take your reciept to the bar, repeat your drinks to the barman and then you would be served. Wiered we thought. Look !!! I could go on and on about this place. Why should it be called a hotel ? Big building perhaps ? I dont think its a hotel at all. Apart from that (htl), Malta is great and we will come back to it again. So much to see and do. All the rest of the people in Malta are so friendly and helpful. Good fun. Food and drink good too.

I wouldn't quite say ithis was a 4 star - more 3 star as there was no coffee making facilities or mini bar in room. Otherwise a very good and excellent value hotel. Seems to be very popular amongst Brits.

An excellent location, away from the centre but only a few minutes walk to the square. The rooms are clean & comfortable, and the staff are some of the friendliest I've come across on my travels. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for accommodation in this area of Malta.

They gave me a timeshare apartment, so it was ideal to be able to cook what I liked, a month of their same breakfast could be a bit much. Cereal leaves alot to be desiired and there is no fresh fruit.

The location is superb, the view was poor (inland). Twin beds could easily have been turned into a double bed.... Even if using twin beds, by putting a wooden surround at the base to avoid the beds splitting away and moving apart, making the beds very uncomfortable. Double bed sheets could have been used to make shift from twin to double. It is true that we were told that the beds were twin, but a solution could have been found in this way. Other than that, it was ok. Explanation given above. If request was granted, I would consider recommending the Topaz to others.

Good Points: Very Clean, friendly Staff, basic accomdation(but a negative point), Good buffet Breakfast, very nice indoor pool. Bad Points: the Evening Meals, Entertainment to repetative, same acts every couple of days, Sunbed Mattrasses very damp inside and seeps through onto towel and clothes(nedd to be covered up overnight from weather and animals and the costs of appliences such as Kettles, Fridges are a bit to high for long stayers e.g.1mth+.

The room was dirty and I had to clean the kitchen area and bath when we first arrived. The baby crib literally fell apart. The breakfast was awful, only fruit available came out of a can. The indoor pool was barely less cold than the outside. The general upkeep of the hotel was appauling.

A down to hotel with full amenities. Rooms were very large and comfortable, best of all clean and comfortable and for once with working air - conditioning to keep room warm even during the night (the A/c functioned then also). Breakfast was lavish. A positive experience.

Above all we liked the room that we were given, actually it was like a small apartment. Our 17 year old boy had the tv room with the sofa bed all to himself while we had a seperate bedroom so everyone could enjoy his/her privacy. Although we were out of the room most of the time we can say that we also appreciated the kitchenette which came in handy for quick snacks and for tea making. However, we would have been grateful if there were some teabags, skimmed milk and sugar sachets provided in the room at least for the first night. The breakfast was also abundant:) The boy complained that to have access to the internet there was an extra charge!!

The staff at the Malta sighseeing desk were very friendly and helpful. One of the housecleaning staff was very nice. The outdoor swimming pool was freezing and dangerously slippery around the deck. The indoor swimming pool had such horrendous fumes of chlorine that my children could only stay in the room for 15 minutes without coughing and feeling sick. The area around the hotel is not very nice. It does not give a very good impression of Malta.

80 euro / 3 noce Dość blisko do nadmorskiej promenady. - Naprawdę paskudne śniadania - jajecznica z proszku, kawa rozpuszczalna (zresztą również w barze), rozwodnione soki, glutowata owsianka. - Słabe ciśnienie wody, brak lodówki. - Okrutnie brudne leżaki koło basenu. - obiekt duży i zdecydowanie wymaga odnowienia.
