The price and facilities. I asked for a no-smoking room but the room smelled of smoke and there was an ashtray in the room implying it was not a no smoking one.

Great Location for staying out at Paceville, and avoid driving. No eletricity plugs to charge mobile phones etc.. . Needed to disconnect the tv/decoder or the fridge. There's only one for shavers. No free wifi.

it's VERY close to all the nightclubs in Paceville, which was ideal for our stay. The noise early in the morning due to delivery trucks, however it is expected due to the hotel's location.

Location perfect. Bar restaurant adjacent to the hotel was excellent. A brilliant pint. Staff were friendly and the communal areas were to a high standard. Ideal for a few beers in Paceville. Only a short stumble from the nightlife. Considering the budget the room was acceptable and the continental based breakfast was acceptable. The hotel staff wanted the rooms checking by the cleaners before we left. They said it was to avoid guests leaving belongings in the rooms but it felt like they were making sure we hadn't stolen anything. Never experienced anything like it before.

It was very cheap. The rooms are small, the carpets look dirty, but the bathroom and sheets looked clean. Our room didn't have a view (and no sun), but that was a great thing during the weekend when the night life in Paceville is very loud and we could not hear any noise from the streets and were able to sleep.

It was simple, reminded me of a college dorm room. the bed was comfortable and was exactly what I expected for 16.50 a night. the hotel staff were friendly and accommodating and the best part is you can order food at any hour from the restaurant downstairs. No idea why so many people on trip advisor had so many issues with it. It's a 2 star budget hotel which is basic and simple. my pillow case had a black smudge on it but i always travel with a pillowcase if i know i will stay in budget accommodation so no big deal. the shower was a bit tricky to close and the facets in the shower were quite hard to turn.

The receptionist was very very helpful and friendly.I arrived at the hotel early before check-in. The receptionist was so kindly to place my luggage in a special room and did everything possible to respond to my requests. I stayed there just for one night and had a transfer to the airport in the very early morning at 5 a.m. Breakfast at the hotel starts at 7 am. However, to my request she provided breakfast special for me at 4.30 am. I am very grateful to her. She does her job like a staff at a good five stars hotel. Excellent facilities and a room at that price. Very good value for money. Air conditioning worked well. There were hot and cold water. My single room was set in the internal part of the hotel and had no view, so night noise from the street can't be heard. Of course, the room is very small, the window is small. But it still very worthy for the price. The location is very convenient, close to the main bus station of St Julians, you can easily travel to any part of Malta and Gozo. There are a supermarket and big shopping mall, a town sandy beach, though it is overloaded and water isn't clear. The hotel is located in the central area of nightlife in Malta. At day here quite nice and works a lot of good restaurants, bars and souvenir shops. I didn't like the taps on the sink. They was made by the old English tradition. On one side is the tap of the hot water and the tap of cold water is on other side. If you stay in the hotel more than 1 night, it can get annoying. Choosing a hotel, you should know that it is located very close to the center of nightlife area. But the building and the entrance to the hotel is located on a street, that fairly quiet for this area. I can recommend this hotel for single travellers who wants to save their money.

It was cheep and close in the heart of St.Julians Pretty much everything else. It's dirty - it seems no one has ever cleaned it since the last decade, humid - the AC is old and dusty, never been turned on since last decade as well, noisy - parties outside everywhere through all night, old as a an old rag - holes in the floor, dirty old corners. And I bet Guantanamo prison guests have better beds. So it's like form the 80ies hotel in war torn cheep hotel Beirut.

Good value for money, in the middle of night life, very good food in the restaurant downstairs lots of things to choose from the menu. Not too good English of the receptionists (sorry, again….. X 1000) :d and some of them not really friendly. They looked stressed, probably because they have to work up to 12 hours. Noisy but that’s the price for the location , not really comfortable beds, very small bed linen, small room, not working phone. Still, for that price, I'd recommend the hotel. In fact, we extended our stay.

It was a good value for money, and a good place from which to explore the area. It would, however, be more suitable for young 'party animals' as there are a lot of clubs in the area.

Location, near all the bars and restaurants It was a big disappointment as the reviews on booking.com for this hotel were quite positive. It all started with the attitude of a receptionist (who does day shifts). She actually destroyed our first impression about tropicana with her rudeness to us and other guests. Our room did not have hot water whenever we had shower and airconditioning did not work properly. My friends had to move room because there was no hot water and when they moved back to there original room (the hotel was full), they had to suffer a night without electricity. Some people aparently partied in their rooms. Our trip to Malta was very positive apart from this hotel.
