Great location in the city centre
Enjoyed my time at this hotel Staff are kind and sweet Very good place to be for a Valetta trip
in particular, valving very noisy during the night
Although the St. John cathedral is ringing through the night, if you close the balcony door properly, it doesn't disturb your sleep.
The room was amasing, it is beautiful, spacey, comfortable and we used the balcony a lot.
We got a room without windows and with dirty bedsheets. The bathroom is incredibly small. You have to be quick when showering because at a point the warm wather stops running.
The position is very good, right in the centre
Rooms face into a courtyard so no natural light..might not suit everyone. A better bed side light would be better.
I stayed here last year, just for 4 nights. It is excellently placed nr the Co Cathedral of St John.It is above the restaurant so handy for meals. Full English breakfast included and nice for the solo traveller to breakfast in a lively restaurant with guests but also locals.
Church bells ringing all night long. Heating was not sufficient for a winter stay.
Friendly staff, great location in the middle of Valletta center.
Stairs up to outdated bathroom
Good breakfast ideal location
No reception desk when the restaurant (which runs the hotel) is closed, no outside window (the air in the room was very bad), very noisy (you hear people in the corridor, your neighbours in the room next door, the water runoff, and strange noise from the roof when it is windy)
Nice interior, hotel in the centre, restaurant is good
They asked me to pay my staying before seeing the room, I asked if I could pay after, they told me you can pay when you check out. The owner of the hotel left me out of the doors for 2 hours at night, he blocked the card to open the room, because he thought I didn't want to pay. But They Had my credit card as guarantee. I had to call the police! No heating. They created things not to turn the heating on to save some money. Food is terrible. They ladies at the desk very kind but the owner very rude, all people working there frightened by him! I am sorry because the hotel is very nice.
location the roof top view of the harbor
Ambience& situation & efficient & friendly staff
We didn't like the noise from the kitchen from 7.30am till 10.30pm, which was on the floor below us and the water from other rooms gushing down the downpipe, which was located right outside our door! Tea/coffee facilities were provided in the room but this is not stated in the hotel's online info! I had emailed to ask if they were provided but received no reply so took a travel kettle etc and needn't have done!
The hotel is very comfortable with quirky décor and interesting object d'art. It is centrally located which suited our needs. Our room was serviced daily and very clean. Food was good and staff extremely helpful and pleasant. Tea/coffee facilities were provided in the room.
The rooms are very original
Taxi cannot get to door . Had to carry cases uphill. No reception. No charm from staff. The waitress, Pauline, did her best but the "boss" was most unsympathetic. Size of room. No window and it took one hour to fix aircon.
A litle late for Breakfast for me. But i am upp early ;-)
The Crew make this place
Very noisy, people including staff shouting on the stairs
room41 PIPES OR FANS FROM HOTEL KITCHEN VERY THROUHOUT NIGHT. THESES RUN THRU ROOM
GREAT STAY GOOD WEEKEND
Nice rooms and brilliant restaurant downstairs. We had to leave very early morning on our last day, then the staffs packed our breakfast in lunch boxes.
Problem with the lift, before 8am i needed to take the emmergency stairs to go out. No body explained that before 8am the lift wasn't working. One day a lady entered my room at 7h30 screeming that the lift isn't working. The room was located near the lift with a window giving on the corridor, so no possibility to open the window. No heating in the room, it was very cold. restaurant: The staff gives priority to customer not residing in the guesthouse. Staff unfriendly.
It was cold in mid January and the heating system's capaciy is far not enough, so we were cold as well The brakfast is really monotonous
The hotel has a style, an atmoshere and a good restautant, we enjoyed it during our second stay
Did not have a proper window - only a window to an internal courtyard
Lovely room, perfect location
Sadly arrived on carnival day and the city was closed off to transport so we were unable to get to it with luggage tried to cancel as very noisy but couldn't
I'm sure this hotel is great but didn't stay to try it. The restaurant looked great
Heating, like airconditioning, is user-pay; this in an old building with massive--and uninsulated--stone walls, concrete ceiling and tiled floor. There were no carpets. The water heater in the tiny and well-equipped bathroom held only enough hot water for one shower. The biggest problem was ventilation--there wasn't any in our room or the adjoining bathroom, except for one window which gave onto the balcony corridor by which you reached our room. Leaving this open (as the cleaning staff did every day after their visit) meant there was no security at all. There was black mould on the wall beside (and probably behind) the wardrobe, on the bathroom ceiling above the shower and in the main room above the window. We were on the top floor and the room vibrated all night with the noise of fans or refrigerating equipment on the roof, probably for the restaurant. The restaurant was always cold because the doors were left open to allow staff easy access to the outdoor dining areas.
The location is superb, with all the major attractions of this 450-year-old city within short walking distance. The building is an old, typical stone Maltese house; the restaurant is good, with reasonable prices, and the staff friendly and helpful. Both the room and the restaurant were always spotlessly clean. There is a lovely roof deck; we had access to it although we were there in January so it wasn't being served.
Located next to St John's cathedral with bells chiming every quarter of an hour throughout the night. No reception area Credit card reader needed to be keyed on a high bar so no privacy
Central location Excellent vegetarian breakfast Quirky decor
