The barman Alfred was brilliant, he made visitors extremely welcome. The atmosphere of the Hotel was good and it was very easy to talk to the other guests. For a 4 star Hotel it was good value for money, you get what you pay for.

I spent a week at The Victoria Hotel whilst visiting friends and family in Malta. The hotel is quiet (even though it is in the heart of Sliema) and clean. Staff are very helpful and customer-oriented. I hope to visit again in the near future and well done.

The beds are excellent, so is the staff! It has some old-fashioned charm without being too nostalgic - a very nice mix. Spa (indoor-pool) is much smaller than indicated by the images shown in the web. The breakfast is rather mediocre - especially the coffee!

staff is really nice hair dryer in room was sooooo old fashioned that I was asking for other in order to prepare hair normally.. when I asked for Iron and Ironing board.. they brought me iron what was sooooooooooo dirty that I decided not to try to damage my clothes :( and ironing board cover was made of material not convenient for ironing.. it sticked to IRON immeadiately.. I was more then surprized water was coming from bath.. so bathroom was all the time covered with water.. but we soon got used to it :) and noise of street.. due to deliveries.. Unless we asked to have double bed on booking form it wasn't provided same as no breakfast for last day.. due to conditions of Booking.com :(

The Victoria Hotel is ideally situated for beach and resort facilities being only a short walk from the promenade, Sliema centre and St Julian's Bay. All staff members were very professional, attentive and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. The Penny Black Bar is very good value for money. Swimming pool and spa facilities were luxurious.

Quite big rooms Calm place to relax, far away from pubs and discos Kettle and tea, coffe... free of charge The staff was kind and helpfull The Victoria is an old-fashioned and shabby hotel. The air-conditioning was very old and noisy, without enough power to cool a room, even if you turn it on all night long the room was quite warm. Cleaning service was very poor. We don't have minibar in the room. The nearest beach is a stone one, and not very nice.

Staff was excellent. Comfortable rooms although style was a bit 90's, but the prices was excellent. Also could use roof pool of the sister hotel The Palace. This pool is fabulous. I stayed at The palace hotel which is 5 star and would rather go back to Victoria as the experience was better.

Use of the Palace Hotel facilities. (Hotels interconnect on the 7th floor, pool and restaurant on 9th) As the hotel was in the centre of Sliema (don't expect sea views), the location was good to go to either side of the town's seafront, day or night, although not much happening around the hotel location as it's quite residential Gym, sauna, indoor pool etc.were very good "Talk of the Town" cafe bar (In Palace Hotel) was a nice oasis - always looked forward to coming back for a late/last drink at night. Quiet area and close to what Sliema has to offer. Multi- lingual front desk staff. No bar service, shade or ashtrays at the Victoria Hotel (not Palace Hotel) outdoor pool. Room was quite dated and the shower had a very bad leak. No Mini-Bar. Room cleaning service was very poor - towels taken but not replaced, tissues not replenished (not toilet paper), sanitary bags not replenished. The bar - forget it, but as the hotel connects to The Palace Hotel and it's Cafe Bar, it didn't matter too much

Extremely pleasant reception staff. Very good location, close to Sliema front where you can pick up a ferry across to Valletta, or a stroll down to St Julians area. Did not have meals in the hotel so can not comment on the food. I had stayed in the sister hotel next door, the Palace a 5 star hotel, but found we could wander through to the Victoria and use the facilities of both hotels, I preferred the relaxed atmosphere in the penny black bar in the Victoria so while paying 5 star prices at the Palace we would walk through to the Victoria for a pleasant drink. My only niggle was the air conditioning, although it was 36 degrees when we stayed, our room was quite warm but we were only there to sleep and shower.

Mixed facilities with "the palace", friendliness of the staff, good value for money (we paid 67€ per night) Very old fashion design of the room, minimalistic in standards services (you have to ask to get an extra towel, etc.), wifi not free

The staff was kind and smiling. HOW TO SURVICE "THE VICTORIA": 1. Even if you specify during time of booking that you want a cool room you will most likely not. The AC cools no cooler than 30C. So do not hesitate to ask for a fan. Then the temp. will drop to 28C, but hey... What more to do to survive? Soak a towel before you go to sleep and cover yourself with it! The hotel is eco friendly and in this respect NOT CLIENT FRIENDLY. There are ac's in the corridors, but they are switched off. Same in the lobby and elevators. In fact we think the only place with working ac is the gym. 2. In the elevator (also no cooling) we made sure we knew where the alarm button was as it was producing curious sounds... 3+4. The hotels states their breakfast buffet is lavish, and after trying we do not agree (8,50 pp upon making the reservation, approx 12pp if you did not include breakfast and 6,50pp if you buy vouchers at the reception desk). We decided to walk down the road and have a healthy breakfast (with free wireless internet - in Malta there is still a down load limit). 1 hrs in the hotel room (not wireless!) 5euro. You will need a cable handed to you by the receptionist, but you will most probably find it will come out of the socket over and over again. 5. The transfer chauffeur was at the airport. We passed by him 3 times, but could not identify him, as he had only a miniscule piece of paper with our name on it and he did not keep it up (he obviously needed the back of the paper to scribble on...). 6. Check in is from 3PM onwards. We found our room not to be ready. 7. Housekeeping stayed away… claiming to the management that our room was cleaned… 8. Maintenance was asked in our presence (22PM) to fix the ac. They never showed up. As they were already asked to fix the ac during daytime we consider this 2 no-shows. 9. We were offered a free breakfast as an apology for having to stay in a hamam inspite of our reservation of a room with a working ac and having to change rooms in the middle of the night.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Our room was ok, nice view over the sea, but I would not have described it as 'superior' twin room.

Friendly and helpful reception and restaurant staff, comfortable room and good selection at breakfast. Quiet yet convenient location. Enjoyed our stay. Rooms not very well maintained - patio door handle came off, hairdryer hose held on with tape but still came off. Bathroom really needs refurbishing.Housekeeping staff very slap-dash, didn't always leave fresh towels and didn't leave any soap. They spent a lot of time chatting in groups.

Comfortable relaxing atmosphere in the hotel. Staff helpful to make our stay comfortable. Internet availability in the room (though we found it expensive). Coffee making facilities in room. Spacious and elegantly decorated room. Booking way in advance ensured a good room rate. Breakfast nothing to write home about. Very average view for a superior room - view onto the roof of another building.

The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful Not sure if my Junior Suite was the dud as it was the last available, but it was very poorly lit and in drastic need of maintenance. The door handle/key-card lock was very loose and about to fall off I'd say, walls of the entrance were heavily scuffed, the wardrobe doors wouldn't close properly, the shower ran scaldingly hot one minute then freezing the next (pressure was good though!), water leaked from the bath to the floor, the balconies were tiny and useless and there was a persistent smell of damp. I usually stay at the Palace when in Sliema- I'll never stray again.
