A beautiful fishing village with great fresh fish...
A beautiful fishing village with great fresh fish restaurants and good local boat trips. A daily market and a fish market on Sundays but very busy to get to by bus on a Sunday due to high demand. Great walks.

This is a charming traditional fishing village, most people eat fish which is locally caught. The harbour front is used for a daily market and is transformed at night with most restaurants having tables on the waterfront. There are regular bus services to the capital Valetta, this takes around an hour at busy times, but 35 minutes when quiet. The buses also run to the airport. The town is served by a large Spar supermarket and scattered shops selling food drink, bottled water (essential as the tap water is chlorinated and not drinkable) Do visit the Sunday market, great value for money. The pavements can be uneven. The people are friendly and helpful. Our favourite restaurant was Roots on the seafront, prices were reasonable and the fish freshly caught. The portions are big, loved their chips too.

Pretty fishing village with lots of restaurants on the sea...
Pretty fishing village with lots of restaurants on the sea front. Market stalls during they day selling local food and Maltese craftwork and souvenirs. Magnificent church, inside and out. Village is prettily lit up at the seafront in the evening. There are some boat trips to take you to other parts of Malta. Being a fishing village, most of the restaurants were fish/seafood focussed, and a little on the expensive side (in my opinion) - so if you're not into fish there is very little choice. Good bus service to allow you to go to other towns, villages and Valetta. Also a regular bus service to/from airport.

Located just off the waterfront n a tranquil street. My room had a balcony and the breakfast room overlooked the harbour. The harbour is picturesque and bustling on market day.The staff were wonderful and i appreciated a shelf of book swap items. Every detail was thought of. I highly recommend this place.

It’s a beautiful harbour town, with lots of restaurants,we only ate in two but both were delicious,so many to chose from.
There was a market along the front each morning we were there and Sunday there was an enormous market that went the full length of the bay.It was too busy for us on the Sunday though but an experience. We would probably avoid the Sunday on future stays.
The accommodation has a great location in Marsaxlokk, in the first row by the sea. The room and the dining room with a large terrace were renovated. The room was large, it was equipped with a kettle, a fridge and a jug of still water was refilled every day. Room cleaning was perfect every day. At breakfast it was possible to taste local products (marmalade, yogurt). The owner was very pleasant and helpful.
Great location, nice and quiet accomodation.
It is called 'guesthouse' but it's a hotel, with the advantages of the hotel.
Beautiful room, big, comfortable beds.
Breakfast at the covered rooftop with the view of the harbour.
Very nice staff.
Our room was on the first floor and we had a private balcony (no view but very hidden from everything, good to sit outside)
Good breakfast!
Wonderful stay in Marsaxlokk, perfect for chilling. Great location, just 5 minute walk from the lovely harbour area with it's great choice of good restaurants . Lovely walking trails around Marsaxlokk bay. 2 minute walk from Spar grocery and drinks store. Apartment was clean and well equipped. Very friendly and helpful Zzzing staff when we had to contact them.
Basically everything was awesome. The hotel owner is a great person. He is really warm, kind and helpful. Whenever you need something, he would help immediately. The rooms are amazing clean and they have daily room cleaning service if you would need. I stayed in hotels, guest houses in more than 30 countries and i can say it was one of the cleanest one easily.
Very beautiful guest house which is family run, the daughter even welcomed us in German and was very helpful regarding getting to know the small village, where to eat and what to do. Breakfast was very good, we recommend eating it on the rooftop terrace. Although Marsaxlokk is very small, it is nevertheless very well located at the bay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at South Wind Guest House. Rooms are spacious, clean and stylish. Breakfast caters for different tastes with a nice mix of salty and sweet. Staff are kind and helpful. Hotel location is fantastic, very close to the promenade and with a lovely view over the water from the terrace.
The host is extremely nice and accommodating, making sure you have you have everything you need. Breakfast was amazing. We only stayed for one night but still, he made sure we didn't miss out on the blue grotto and the charming port of Marsaxlokk. Thank you so much for showing us around Salvu!
The staff are very kindly and helpful. The breakfast is fine and we can choose from custom varieties. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. The location of the hotel at the best point of the village. The landmark from the hotel rooftop teŕace is beautiful and you can find a pool here.
I stayed in 4 guesthouses on Malta - this was my favorite. The location/view if you reserve a front-facing room is lovely, the room is big and clean, and the location is good for walking/seeing all the beautiful sites between Marsaxlokk and Marsaskala. Breakfast on the terrace was excellent.
An absolute gem of a place in a lovely fishing village. Everything here was perfect -- from the location, the unique/spotless rooms and the helpfulness/friendliness of management, we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in Marsaxlokk (...or the whole of Malta). Perfect!
The flat is really large and can easily accomodate 6 people. Kitchen facilities are perfect, lounge and balcony really spacious! There is a large parking lot about 200 m away which is so convenient. Super close to Marsaxlokk promenade. That is what we were looking for!
Hotel is very clean and the stuff is very friendly and ready to help. The room is very comfortable and clean. The breakfast is also satisfying with a different variety of foods and drinks. The location is ok, and it is in the centre of the Marsaxlokk.
Wonderful property, warm, hospitable hosts, great breakfasts! Great set-up for a beach and foodie holiday; Marsaxlokk has the best seafood we’ve ever eaten. Duncan Guest House provided everything we needed for a fantastic stay in southern Malta!
We had a room with a spacious balcony and a pretty view over the harbour. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was alright.
There is a possibility to park right before the hotel, but with limited spaces.
Nice small hotel, breakfast and airport transfer included. They also own restaurant at the Marsaxlokk promenade, where you can get 10% off. The hotel is new and clean, definatelly worth it. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Really nice, small hotel. Nicest of the five places I stay in Malta. About a block from the ocean. Room had a balcony but the breakfast room had a fantastic view of the harbor. Nice continental breakfast.
Comfortable and quiet place to stay in Marsaxlokk, few steps from the waterfront. Beautiful views of the harbor from the breakfast room. Plenty of street parking around the accommodation in mid-September.
