What's not to like. Excellent location, beautiful beach, tropical garden setting, good food and friendly, helpful staff who make you feel welcome and remember your name.
My reservation was Bed&Breakfast, but it was upgraded to include dinner as well. Located near beach. Nice diving sites. Nice, clean rooms. Nice food. Nice beach.
Expensive prices. Due to incorrect transaction (around 600 Euros) done by the hotel, I had to send many emails to the hotel with no luck. Finally I had to visit my bank and write a statement there to get my money back... Wi Fi speed very slow and sometimes stops.
Proximity to beach. Free water activities. Choice of restaurants. Suite size and balcony. Friendly staff. Very easy wifi with great coverage and connection. Location of restaurants - especially those overlooking the beach for the sunset. Fantastic main pool and smaller pools around the resort. Lots of sunbeds - but often 'towelled' for the day Buggies to take you round the resort with your bags Location near a town and local facilities Spa facilities on site High quality facilities everywhere.
Some residents still putting beach towels on sunbeds to hold them all day. Very annoying and should be stopped by the hotel management. Not being asked if we want to have floatation jackets when snorkling- would have made the experience so much better and safer. Having the bathroom and dressing area/wardrobe area combined in the junior suite. No complementary bottles of water except on day 1 - this is usual for 5 star hotels. In the room only powdered nescafe for coffee and dried milk sachets - no good for tea. Could have a small filter coffee machine with pods and milk in the fridge - again, usual for 5 star hotels. If on half board be aware of restricted choice on the menu without a hefty surcharge for some dishes. No small general shop/grocer on site for incidentals.
great food at each of 6 restaurants, great wine, great beach... perfect place to get some much needed rest and down time. ps - a little tip goes a long way
over-eager housekeeping, limited and slow wifi. and... a crazy tropical bird that flew up to and knocked on our bathroom window at sunrise every morning!!
Staff Personal service Beautiful Grounds Stunning infinity pools Lovely breakfast buffet Amazing beach Really practical room with gorgeous shower inside and outside! Golf buggies to take you around the resort!!!
The other half had trouble with his key card afew times! The media hub didn't work
the room with private pool was excellent, the beach and facelleties were awesome. staff was lovely and food was good, sure i'm gonna come again.
the hotel was so far from the airport and they didn't send us a car to pick us up.
The location is excellent. Water sports provided are wonderful, food very good, choice of restaurants a plenty, wonderful staff and good management. Its a place for your perfect holiday, though one of the expensive options. But one should try it for the experience. I would love to be a repeat customer if I get a better deal (less expensive and on full board) next time whenever I visit Mauritius again.
Food at Indian restaurant could be improved to some extent. Also, sometimes few of the towels were not upto the mark as per the standard of the hotel. Rest was all perfect.
Ideal honeymoon hotel
too many beach hawkers who were friendly but too persistent
I did not like the manager attitude during the check out time, he was not friendly and did not allow me to extend in the same villa nor he allowed me extra time to pack (half an hour) was not accepted by him. The whole stall were excellent except this "rude" person.
Every thing were perfect , we reserve a private pool villa with 3 room , the facility in the villa exceed our expectation ,
The location of the resort is little bet far from the airport , you need to drive for I hour and 15 minute to reach the hotel otherwise every thing were perfect.
The staff was always very nice. The mini club has a wonderful program for kids age 3 to 12. Diversity of restaurants as well as water activities was also a plus.
Wi-fi only worked at the suites, not at the restaurants.
Resturant Food Cleanliness Comfort
The villas were excellent as well as the service.
The buffet restaurant provided were below of what we expected. Other restaurants were quite good.
missed personal touch of luxury resort sauna restricted to spa users
Beach, people and facilities
hard to reserve seats in Le Deck
beach,suite comfort very high
a little bit poor breakfast,tv difficult for use
The Italian restaurant. Here, amongst others, Anwar and Kader really make you feel at home. They know what true customer focus is. This Italian restaurants is also one of the few in which you can order a la carte dishes.
Italian restaurant, as said, was the only restaurant in which we were really treated as customers. The general procedure of dining reservation at Trou aux Biches is absolutely not customer oriented. If you want to make a reservation for, for instance, the Thai restaurant, you have to do this days ahead. So, many times you are too late with making a reservation (especially when you only spend a few days at the resort). Then, you're more or less forced to go to the buffet restaurant and this is where the money machine of Trou aux Biches resort is. This buffet is around 50 euros a person, without beverage, which is very expensive, especially for what you get. Poor value for money thus.
- Family friendly - Location - Beach and gardens well kept - great spacious suite size and arrangement - variety in breakfast buffet - weather was great - clarins spa - good check-in and out - room service and towel change twice a day - nespresso coffee maker - outdoor shower - refreshments carts along the beach - free internet
- peddlars on the beach - boat and water activity organizers (unrelated to hotel) always offering tours - birds in restaurant and buffet areas - mosquitos (can ask for repellant from room service) - no temperature control on suite pool - a little wear and tear noted esp in main restaurant (not of 5* standard) - If youre looking for somewhere peaceful to relax in this isnt for you due to the large numbers of guests, children and constant water activities right in front of the beach ; but if you have kids its certainly a fantastic choice!
