Close to Le Morne and other attractions and places worth visiting, 90 min drive to Port Louis. Island is a paradise for botanical enthusiasts, hikers, climbers, fans of all sorts of water sports and beautiful reef fish, encounters with whales, dolphins etc.very friendly lovely locals and I felt very safe at all times, safer than in European many places. Please do book with local people, not all inclusive international resorts without local feel.

The clear water at the beach was exelent. The clearest seewater I have seen on the hole island! The surounding with the mountains are great. The beach is clean. No waist is liing around. not a typical tourist destination. However, great spot for trips and quiet place to chill before trips around the island - which is pretty easy to travel around. Great choice for families and backpackers like myself

Great location to discover southern part of the island.
Great location to discover southern part of the island. Close to many beautiful beaches, on many of them you feel like a private only for you. The underwater life could be better - large amount of bleached and dead corals in the lagoons. The village itself is nothing interesting, it doesn't even have its own beach. It's just a busy long road. But it has an ideal location with regard to the nearby beach and Le Morne mountain, the waterfall and natural attractions in Chamarel, or the Casela World of Adventures. Further south beyond Le Morne there are also some very nice beaches.

Much more peaceful that surrounding areas, and not at all overcrowded. Good supermarket. No petrol station, nearest is Tamarin. Much cooler than up north but not as comfortable as the east. Very good choice, all in all.

It is located literally next to the supermaket and restaurant serving really good burgers and seafood. Close to Le Morne mountain and Le Morne beach which is one of the most beautiful beaches in Mauritius. As well as close to Chamarel Rumerie and Seven coloured world. It's not a tourist area, however, if you want quite place with awesome place to chill, it's great place to be. Looking forward to come back again. He suggested to move the couch so we could create a safe bed for our kid. The accomodation is well located (near restaurants, supermarket and bus stops. In my opinion the village La Gaulette is underestimated. Before we went to La Gaulette people asked „why are you going there?“ we know very well now: it is a small fisher‘s place clos to Chamarell, Le Morne mountain and Prairie beach.

Kevin would get you one in a few seconds :) he also gave a lot of tips in the area and also around Mauritius - we especially loved the recommendation of Dolphin Warrior for a boat tour, which was amazing. can highly recommend this place.LenaGermany

The first afternoon on arrival went trail running with a very nice owner to the nearby hills and Chamarel waterfalls. Was able to rent a bicycle for two days and it was a great way to go to Le Morne beach and hiking trails and also all the way uphills to Cascade 500 pieds, Gorges viewpoint and Chamarel. Room was huge and modern and was also cleaned every day. I also enjoyed La Gaulette in general. My favourite area in Mauritius!

We used kayaks and spent an amazing day on the Virgin Islands close to the house. Inside everything what you need - blankets, coffe machine, washing machine etc. Also localisation is perfect- 5 min to big shop, and few minutes to the most beautiful beach in Mauritius ! 🇲🇺 Highly recommended !

It's new construction so everything is clean and works perfectly. The bed is comfy and the kitchen is well-stocked. The location is super quiet and yes the view from the roof (and balcony) is great. The owner is really nice, good communication and getting the key was easy. Would definitely stay again.
