The hotel is positioned on beautiful coastline with amazing views to the islands out to sea. The interior decor is fantastic - really modern, understated, tasteful and luxurious with great fabrics, stone, colours, finishes. Our room size was very generous. Sea view really means sea view. Food - when it could be sourced - was - in the main - excellently cooked in the main buffet restaurant and the a la carte restaurant. The wifi was free.
I am a type 1 diabetic and twice when ordering diet coke they brought me full sugar coke, and tried to insist it was diet when I objected. Quickly stuck to ordering water after a hyperglycaemic episode. If you are not there as an all-inclusive guest they don't know what to do with you when it comes to meal times. It's very hard to get a reservation in the a la carte restaurant - needs two days' notice - and it's closed on Fridays. The main buffet restaurant is really expensive if you're paying to eat there every night - and you don't require several courses. We require one course each and were expected to spend £50 for the pair of us every time. There are no menus in the main restaurant nor in the lunchtime cafes - you have to try and guess what food is available. We tried the Malaysian restaurant and have never received worse food. Prawns were inedible and the lobster was burnt - they did apologise and say the burner stove thing was set too high. I ate two prawns and one piece of lobster and ended the night with severe food poisoning. The room cleaning staff are bizarre. They touch all of your stuff and move it all around the room, and don't refill the complimentary tea and coffee even when its completely empty. The hotel doesn't supply fresh milk despite running a fridge in every room. The room cleaning staff removed a completely unread glossy magazine (WSC) from our room and when we asked about it, we were repeatedly told they were looking for it, and they would get back to us, but they didn't, and so on two consecutive days we were forced to make embarrassed enquiries. They should really just have said sorry, rather than continue in the farce of saying they were looking for it. They never mentioned docking the cost from our bill. We gave up on that in the end.
The facilities The design The beach and services provided
The restaurant reservations ... The taxis are expensive and you have to drive to go to any place
-Room was nice - New hotel
- Mattress was awful (too firm) - Food - Wi-fi extremely poor - We were walking down the beach at night and two big barking dogs approached us. It was not an extremely pleasant experience. The staff told us that these are neighbour's dogs and that they are quite aggresive ??!!
Staff extremely nice and helpful. Always smiling and trying to make you feel comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and we will recommend this place to all our friends.
Wifi a little bit slow in the room.
Starting with our first step at the hotel, the welcome we got made us feel at home straight away. There is no comparison for the professionalism of the staff. Zilwa attitude is definately the face of the paradise island, Mauritius.
Holidays were too short for that paradise.
Excellent small resort with very good facilities and the most most delightful staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Poor communication between booking.com &Zilwa
Great views. Nice furnishings that blends into the environment. Check-in was good. Snorkeling is free and great. Different restaurants for some variety. Restaurant on the beach is nice. Clean pools.
Poor English of some of the staff members. Bad wifi reception in our room. Can only book next day's dinner at dinner time. Costs adds up quickly if not on full-board/all inclusive.
It is a new and very a beatiful hotel. The staff is amazing and the whole atmosphere makes you feel in paradise. The food is good, but if you have a child you have limited options for dinner. The water sports are free and unlimited.
The wi fi is horrible. No connection at all from our room. They have no control of what you spend, if you are not in full bord system. It took us more than an hour to do the checkout. They have charged us things we haven't spend and forgot a whole breakfeast. Luckly we remebered everything and we helped them. The good thing is they did not insist in charging us for things we haven't spend. Although the rooms are very clean, we found 3 big spiders.
