People are so friendly, great! Everything is Perfect.
I prefer small islands, but this is not the Resorts Problem ;-)
Good service clean and beautiful views snorkelling trips breakfast and dinner buffet
Too far from main airpoRt low manpower to handle lunch buffet not worth excursions too expensive
Nice gym and long enough pool for laps. Friendly staff
The travelling sounds daunting however the service from the resort was super efficient. They were with you all the way from airport to resort and back again. While there food was amazing wide selection ( would recommend full board, nowhere else to eat) staff at bars and resturant always egar to help. Everything was charged to your room no need to carry money or worry about tipping. Left that to the last day. The beach was cleaned twice a day immaculate There is a 50 meter pool, the pictures don't do it justice. Our room opened straight onto the beach. We went on snorkelling trips best ever experience. Fish and coral better than Great Barrier Reef. Night fishing good fun and you get to eat what you catch the next day. We didn't want to leave.
Not enough bycicles
* Spacious villa with private front yard and back yard with jacuzzi and with entrance on a beach (lagoon side). * Extremely friendly staff, especially waiter Solih. * Villa cleaned twice per day. * Long island, nice for a walk or small bike tour. * pleasant coral beach at the end of island - south part.
* sea activities are costly * Seaweed on beach - especially on a main beaches.
Swimming pool International food ( quality and diversity ) Reactivity of the staff
The guests are left in the dark regarding their departure Depending on where one's bungalow is, one has to wait quite a while
The services were really good (very friendly and helpfull staff, good and a wide variety of food) and the Jacuzzi villa was really nice - very big inside, with a nice porch in front and immediate acces to a very quiet beach.
Compared with the other resort islands in Maldives, Herathera is quite big (around 3km long) which made it quite difficult to go from some of the villas to the general facilities like restaurant, reception or pool. There were golf carts going around all the time but usually you had to call them for the villas there were farther away. Also, the beach is not nice all around the island, there are only some places that look really like in the pictures, other being rocky. So if you stay in a villa next to a nice beach it is absolutely gorgeous, otherwise you have to walk a little.
Slow service and wi fi low in Room. Restuarant in evening closing very eraly. No proper service of bed at the beach i insist to get a bed beach . No supravisers there. the price is so high for the service buggy service aldo law.
We stayed in a lovely beachfront villa. It was literally a few steps to the sea and you could see the see from your bed. The staff (except for the management) was very nice and helpful.
We are not typically resort people and that's why we chose this resort. A look at the map on Booking.com shows that's not only a resort island, but there's also a village. In combination with the bikes it looked wonderful for us to go to the village for lunch et cetera. However, it was not allowed to get off the resort, 'because of Maldivian law'. The only option is a tour to the village for $45 each excluding service charge and tax. We complained about that and they fixed it well; we got a tour for free. But still.. that was just once. That made the location poor for us. There were 2 pools on the island: a relatively small and a 50m pool. My husband and I love swimming, so we were swimming in the 50m pool. The pool had a metal taste, but for me there wasn't anything to worry about. Also my swimwear turned orange, but I didn't notice that in the beginning. After a couple of day I noticed my hair (I'm a blondine) turned orange! After that we went to the other pool for swimming. Of course we complained about this, while we were at the resort and after, but the only thing they said was that it was according the WHO guidelines and they didn't have so many complaint yet. So they did have more complaints and didn't do anything about it! My only compensation was removing a bar bill of $28, but I had to buy new swimwear for me and my husband (€80) and I had to paint my hair in my original color (€90). I would never go here again! One more thing: the bikes were childrens size and rusted.
Room cleanliness Insects in room Seaweed and rubbish on beach coral on beach No clear water here like Maldives Asked to pay upfront instantly on arrival at 3 am
1)Nice greeting with welcome drink & hot towels 2)Spacious villas with private front yard and back yard 3)Villa cleaned twice per day 4)Complimentary water bottle morning & evening 5)Very comfortable bed 6)Free bicycles provided 7)Nice gym & pools: Towels provided at each 8)Great Breakfast buffet with all possible variety. Many foods freshly prepared in front of us. Even variety of fruit is cut to one's taste. Kilhi restaurant serves delicious food, better take half board or full board 9)Professional & friendly Staff at the resort 10)Staff cleans beach, around villas, & fumigates mosquito repellent daily 11)Green Island full of vegetation, coconut trees, and lakes. Enjoyed biking, and walking in nature. 12) 5 stars quality
1)Representative at airport did not arrive on time: had to wait for him 45 minutes. Could have checked in for internal flight alone 2)Beach water on lagoon side is full of seaweed & plants which make swimming unpleasant. Need special sandals to go inside. However, It seems that they are working for a solution to remove them. I hope they will find a definitive solution. 3) Ocean side full of rocks:not available for swimming at all 5)Water sport activities & diving are expensive 6)À la carte menu is not worth the price. don't repeat our mistake by taking just BB plan, better reserve half or full board depending on how much you eat because if you pay for lunch or dinners separately, you end up paying more
Luxurious rooms Private beach view Friendly staff Helpful when flights were delayed Choice of food in the buffet Range of activities New years eve entertainment
Staff could be quite unhelpful Lack of communication or customer service generally No special treatment whilst on honeymoon Main pool closed the whole time and no apology Bad communication when we did a dive course Rooms very far from main facilities Difficult to get around the island as everything is very spread out Took a long time to get through to concierge
the clean beach, relatively affordable beer and red wine, the dolphins and the low tide when you could almost walk to the centre of the lagoon.
no frisbee, beach volleyball or anything that you can play with on the beach for sale at the resort so bring your own . you run out of things to do if you don't join the group day tours or sign up for the water activities package. Signing up for one activity at a time is not worth it. Bring your own snorkeling gear or googles. The bicycles are definitely not available as there are only a few. bring your running shoes for a nice jog.
The privacy, environment, scenery, friendly staff etc
Bar food, the additional taxes and service charges.
The location is Fabulous. Extremely friendly staff. Try to help you with all they can. Watersport center on the Island. Trip to watch Dolphines and go for snorkling. Catch your own fish and let them prepare. Quit large Island. Nice for a walk Buggy transport always available Huge food diversity, Western and Asian. Two different disco/ bars. Excellent price quality for housing Spa on island is good. Possibility to visit domestic local island with guide. Ideal for couples without children and Families with very young children and age 50+
Book only villa with Jacuzzi because of the location is better for beach and snorkling. Book only full board. This is including all the meals excluding drinks. Maldives is quite expensive but very unique. Don't be scared to pay $7,- for a mars ./ snickers candy bar. Or $13,- for a bottle of Perier water. Thats normal all over the Maldives. Internet speed is fair
Bungalow on beach, outdoor bathroom, dining on sand(great to entertain kids whilst adults eat) food was great, huge variety.
Beautiful location and very quite and peaceful place. Highly recommended for those who like nature, water, sun and sand :)
Reception / help desk need more staff and proper follow up. Bit far from city airport.
Food was average, the staff was good except the reception
The beach was bad "one side full with stones & the other is see plants, sea water is not clear. Main pool was closed. I called ten days earlier asking for afternoon return flight & I asked for late check out "as promised by booking" but I surprised that they booked on early morning flight. I complained to their manager, no response & I believe he isn't aware about customer satisfaction
The resort was just perfect and ideal as a get away from it all type of place.
The main pool was not available
- Nature is amazing - You get anything you might need
- The beach is not as one would imagine (other islands have certainly better beaches) - Although friendly, staff are not well trained on customer service - When you 'force charge' new year's dinner, at least include drinks! - Far walks from rooms to restaurants and bars, baggy service not always efficient - Room service not efficient - Tax is super high. When not informed in advance, you would be surprised... badly!
The cordiality of the resort staff, the sea with the beaches, the daily island activities, the villa with all amenities (just as expected), front sea-view from the sunset beach villa, the bars - especially Dhoni bar & pool and water activities
Sometimes the charges were too high compared to similar lunch/dinner in US but it was worth the money as the food quality was quite good ...
The only resort on a 4.5km island was a big plus, buggy service from our villa to anywhere around the resort, very friendly staff, excellent location.
Need to increase the frequency of buggy service from one end to the other though they come on-call, only selected villas offer a clear sea view, umbrellas not available incase of rain, tax of around 23.2% on total bill for anything and everything.
Location Activities Kind staff, mostly Value for money
Need to take Flight of 1.15 hours from MAle to the resort and after that 15 min speed boat, bit exhausting to get there Transport service from the room to the restaurant Service in the restaurant
The staff were very attentive and remembered things like drink orders during meals or at the bar. Our villa was a perfectly located distance from the beach and the right amount of privacy for the porch. The resort did a phenomenal job decorating for Christmas and New Years. The "gala" dinner wasn't as formal as I had thought it would be, but there was a wide variety of buffet choices and the party on the beach was a great success.
The meal times were cramped (i.e. breakfast was served 7-9:30am, and typically when I'm on vacation I'd prefer to sleep in a little longer) and meals that weren't included in the board were very overpriced (although quite good). Drinks weren't overpriced, but they definitely added up quickly (especially staying during the week of New Years). The pool by the bar was closed and we only found out that there was another pool by other guests when we were checking out.
I recommend to go for jacuzzi villa with sunset view. Also I recommend to ask for a villa nearby the main restaurant otherwise you will suffer with transportation. The food is not very good but you can survive with it. Bicycles are limtied and old so do not expect to get one. I recommed to take snaks with you because their snaks are over priced. The domestic fight that they book for you will be with madivians air lines. It will take one 1 hour and 10 minutes to reach gan airport and the boat will be a round 15 minutes. It will be your worst experience ever. The plan smells very bad and the sound of the engine is very high. The speed boat is nothing but a fishing boat. Both the flight and the boat do not worth 380 dollars per adult. The only suitable beach for swimming is the one which is close to the main reception and restaurant. The rest are filled with big and sharp rocks add to that the sea boshes. In general the hotel is cheap and affordable compared to other hotels. 5 days is more than you need in this island. I wish if someone have told me these facts before I went their. Have a nice vacation ! !
