Offering an outdoor pool, plus a spa and health club, Eco Boutique Hotel Amarte is located a 15-minute drive from Playa del Carmen.
Score from 56 reviews Very good
On a beautiful beach in the Riviera Maya, Rancho Sakol is just a 15-minute walk from Puerto Morelos. This charming bed and breakfast provides free use of bikes and snorkeling equipment.
Score from 163 reviews Excellent
Buenos Dias is a typical house located in central Puerto Morelos, in the Riviera Maya. Its rooms feature free Wi-Fi, bicycles and is only 20 minutes’ drive from Cancun International Airport.

Fabulous (and same) beach for a fraction of the price; small scale instead of big block; massage team on site; easy to arrange snorkeling etc
definitely old style rooms. My air conditioner did work (and it wasn't that hot...) but the bed was not that comfortable...
Comfortable enough place, not really worth the money they charge. The beaches along this section of the coast as they were in other parts.
I love the proximity to the beach. Right in the middle of huge resorts so the best location possible. Family owned. Friendly staff. Palapas are cute.
Seaweed on beach not cleared like the bigger hotels did and prices for food over priced. We ate in the city.
Loved the flour soft white sand and endless beach walks. Dennis couldn't have been more helpful, even loaning us an icebox when I went fishing and cooking the snapper I caught right off the beach.
It's a 45 minute walk to town or you can hire a bike for $10 and have a very pleasant 20 minute ride in dappled shade instead. By the way, the road into town is now pristine Tarmac although the taxis haven't adjusted their prices downwards to reflect this. They quote 200 pesos but we negotiated 150.
The hotel was very clean. Our little hut was very cute and had some nice little extras like bottles of water. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
The hotel is very far to the town - I didn't feel this was made clear. There is a monopoly on taxis in the town so they are very expensive compared to other places in the region. Maybe the hotel should offer free bikes or shuttles to give travellers without a car a means of transport?
- gaps between doors and walls are like a gate for the mosquitos and other insects - cabana nr 3 absolutely should be renewed - translucents curtains in common bathroom (common I mean for man and women) -dirty beach (few meters right or left it is clean) - price to value extremely disappointing
Remote location, staff is friendly. Good for a get away.
food was good, room was clean, perfect little spot right on the beach, nice change from the big resorts around, food was good, nice cocktails, very helpful at reception, good value.
Our cabana had no aircon and it was too hot for us I would stay here again in an aircon room. Be nice to have a safe in the room.
Cabins on beach Friendly proprietor Easy Booking
Too far from town (45 min walk, 100 peso cab) No real choice of food Bar closed at 6pm No access to the 2 AI resorts that are either side, even for a snack or drink
Low key. Location. Secure without the guards. Staff were VERY nice and accommodating. Nice beach. Nice walk to Puerto Morelos and back on the beach. Food available-limited hours but quite handy for a leisurely day. Good coffee and mixed drinks, too. Just don't start your day too early. Massage service right near on the beach. Scuba right round the corner on the beach. They replaced the old AC while we were away for a week and the new one was that much better.
80's disco noise from the mega-resort hotel next door was looming on a couple of nights. Acamaya needs a trebuchet on every balcony to counter that kind of bullying.
Not the hyper developed resort hotel. But in a nice location and the right amount of local feel and with their own beach access. Operators were super-nice. I noted they exchanged the air conditioner during the week we had gone to another area of Yucatan to visit, without any mention of the condensation drips. They were really looking out for their guests.
The noise from the Mega resort next door was a bit off-putting in the evenings.
You cannot beat the location. It is right on the beach. It is about 2 miles south of Puerto Morelos which is good because the beachfront is never crowded.
It is 2 miles north of Puerto Morelos which means you have to hike along the beach about 45 minutes if you want to explore what the city has to offer. Also, they rent out the outdoor space to campers. When I went, there were a bunch of tents everywhere. It was a local boyscout/girlscout camping trip. It kinda ruined the setting for a couple of days.
The breathtaking beach front location. Hearing the ocean as I fall asleep and wake up. I love the intimate, limited # of cabanas so few guests are there even at full capacity; it is not a party atmosphere but a great, chill, good vibe atmosphere. Dennis, the staff member we encountered was awesome! We've been there before and loved it so the 2nd time surely won't be our last! Strongly recommend for a simple serene time, makes one appreciative of life! 5 stars! Two thumbs up!
This is really about Puerto Morelos in general as the road to get there (and other hotels along the way) is brutal. Potholes everywhere so don't be in a hurry unless you want to damage your vehicle. It certainly needs attention from the city. S
Great location, love this place beach at your doorstep
mattress in cabana 3 a bit springy needs updating, other wise love it
Beautiful beachfront. Great stress-free environment. Nice managers. Well maintained cabanas.
2.5 km beachwalk to Puerto Morelos. With no car, it's difficult. Taxi to town is 200 pesos, overpriced. Bicycle is available but road conditions are terrible from property to town. Water was on sale but expensive. Food choice is extremely limited.
Lounging around Beach right outside Simple but very nice accommodations
Coffee at earlier hour More take out restaurants to choose from at night
No much services
Nice rustic cabañas with beach in between two large hotels. Snorkeling trips picked us up right on the beach. Run by a friendly French-speaking family.
Location and setting and the staff was very helpful. I enjoyed Dennis who was the son of the owners. The sand was like flour and white.
Price if you needed water, 40 pesos for 1 liter and if you wanted a cup of coffee without breakfast, 25 pesos and 25 for each cup after. Free refill if you buy breakfast. We had upper room #5 with very nice view but in need of new deck.
Right on the beach, super friendly and pleasant staff!
Great location but a bit far from town if you don't have wheels...especially evenings .
No complaints !
Good value for money Friendly staff Great location and access to the beach Hot shower! Good value breakfast and drinks Ideal for a short stay (we stayed our last night before heading back to Cancun airport)
Room not completely spotless (1 crab, 1 cockroach) but understandable given beach location
Location -- right on the beach, a beautiful spot.
Location -- it's a 200 peso cab ride from where the ADO buses come and go.
it was great.
expensive cab ride to get there- 20$ to bring luggage to stay at a very reasonably priced cabaña-- wish there was an alternative. Once there, walks to town were fine-- just coming and going was hard.
Close to beach, friendly staff, quiet place.
