The excellent location in the middle of a peaceful area, closest to Sian ka an reserve. The lovely second floor balcony with amaca for quet spectacular evenings. The very nice furniture and comfort of the room. Very nice people among guests: loved by lovely people.
It is not really a hotel, it is a place where you rent space, beatutiful room, but no sense of hotel service whatsoever.
This four unit Eco designed Hotel is worth every cent. Right on the beach with fantastic staff. Luca delivers mean mojitos, 2 for 1 happy hour. To enjoy your stay if more than a couple of days and plan to explore the cultural offerings and visits to the town, a car is recommended. A repeat visit is certainly on the cards.
Location on beach, comfortable beds, sounds of ocean at night
They do not accept credit cards which was a surprise since you need one to make a reservation. We had to pay for the entire stay up front in cash which required us to go find an ATM and pull out about $450 for the three night stay. So, if you are staying longer be sure to have the cash on hand.
Beautiful location, the ocean breeze and view was incomparable. A little slice of heaven. The staff was so kind and accommodating.
The location is nice on the beach and close to some cool restaurants and bars. The bed was comfortable and the room was a good size
The place was a little dirty around the bathroom. They need a little bucket of water to clean the sand off your feet before you enter your room. A small fridge would be nice also.
Excelente Service and location. Very quiet and peaceful place.
the location is great. the rooms are basic but comfortable and clean. there are fans and adequate hot water for showering.
overall, it's very disorganized. they are unable to take credit cards, but never state that in the confirmation. however the cash machines don't always work on the main strip. one of the managers, Jonathan, was VERY aggressive about the payment, even though they had my credit card number, my passport number, etc. he was unprofessional, unhelpful and a little scary. speak to someone if you can at the property before booking so you can figure out the payment. otherwise they will hold up your departure. the breakfast is hardly enough and the hours of operation for breakfast are sporadic. they say that they serve at a certain time, but then no one is there. the one breakfast i had was very stale toast with butter. i asked the waitress for more coffee and she literally gave me the jar of instant coffee and a bottle of water. there is no way to get drinking water. of the 3 nights i stayed, only once was i provided with 2 small bottles of water. there are no locks on the screens on the door so if you want to feel safe with a locked door, you will have to close the glass door...which is a shame since the whole point of beach-view is to be able to hear the sounds of the ocean at night. there are no safes in the rooms so you have to hold on to your valuables at all times. the wifi does not work in the rooms but sporadically in the registration area.
Incredibly friendly staff, rooms could not have a better location, quiet and removed from any beach traffic. Have stayed at several resorts in Tulum and this is the one I will keep coming back to!
Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, stylish and modern. It's small and a little bit further down the main strip so it feels very quiet which might appeal to people.
Unfortunately the restaurant was going through some hard times when we were there. Hours were sporadic and they never seemed to have simple things that one would want on a beach, i.e. CERVEZA! If they can work this out I think the experience of staying there would be vastly improved.
The location right by the beach is amazing. The food served in the restaurant was great too. on the beach there are now canopies that can shelter from the full sunshine.
We had an electricity failure one night that was fixed the day after so we hadn't a big inconvenience.
Location is perfect. Rooms are big and bed too, bathroom and shower also very good. In general it is a lovely property with only 4 rooms. If you look for privacy and independence, this is the perfect place. As they only opened few months ago one often needs to ask for things but they were very much willing to help.
Breakfast: the coffee is really bad and the formula either coffee or juice is a bit funny. In general the fact that there isn't really a restaurant, and for food or drinks other than breakfast the choice can be very limited. Also no choice of beers, which in mexico is very strange. Also more storage cabinets in the room would be helpful (for example only one bed-side table).
Little more think about brekfast!
The room design is really nice. The staff was a perfect mix of attentive, friendly and laid back. Location is excellent - close to all the great spots for eating/yoga. Nice beachfront when the sun is out. Simple but delicious cafe with Mexican-style dishes.
Aqua is like renting your own beach cottage/cabana. It is all about the Sun, beachfront and location proximity. During my stay, It rained 70% of the time. So I wasn't able to fully experience the main attraction. Closeby are yoga, restaurants, beach hut lounges and massage. I did them all--amazing stay.
The hotel was in a prime location, one of the few that walked straight out onto the beach from our room. The rooms were very clean and functioning with a lovely comfortable bed and a nice outdoor sitting area. The beaches of tulum are beautiful and this hotel does compliment the simplicity and authencity of the place. It not being in the main hotel section was good for a secluded relaxed holiday - something that we endeavoured to find.
The included breakfast was quite basic and we found we had to order more food as the toasted bread did not suffice our appetites! There was little character in the rooms or around the hotel but it had just opened so I guess this is to be expected. It would have also helped if the staff spoke more English as many things were lost in translation! As I'm sure the hotel is starting up, it is excusable to not have credit card facilities but to us, paying in cash or by paypal was a huge inconvenience - the final bill being quite expensive for not much service. But all in all it was quite comfortable and I'm sure with the more visitors the hotel will soon thrive.
The staff and owners were wery nice and helpful. The wiew from our room upstairs were amazing. The location is perfect, secluded but if you walk along the beach you have a lot of small restaurants and other cabana hotels. The design is nice and the cleaning of the rooms are very good. I can absolutely come back.
No umbrellas on the beach by the sunbeds. If the weather is cold the rooms with palapa roof is very cold. I dont think this is a problem but we had the lowest temperature they have had for 30 years in Tulum!
Agua is a brand new eco-boutique hotel directly on Tulum's beautiful beach. We have been coming to Tulum for a few years and have stayed in a number of Tulum's eco-resorts. We loved this one and will be back. We loved the friendliness and hospitality of the staff led by owners Tomaso and Alessandra, both Italian, as well as their design sensibilities. There is also a small open air restaurant directly on the beach. All rooms have great beach views and are steps away from the water. The rooms are large, modern, sparse and very clean.
We arrived on the day the hotel opened so there was some small hiccups but they were immediately dealt with and resolved by the staff and owners.
