This hotel is located in Playa del Carmen, just a few blocks from the beach and the famous Fifth Avenue. It features traditional Mexican architecture and free Wi-Fi. The Alux Playa del Carmen offers air conditioning in every room. Cable TV and private bathrooms are also provided in the rooms. The Hotel Alux is close by many international restaurants, street vendors and boutique shops for guests to browse. Snorkeling, fishing and swimming are also available near the hotel. The staff were not friendly at all and our room was not cleaned daily. Luckily we only booked two nights so were able to move to another place for the rest of our stay (4 nights). There are better options in Playa for the same price.

Staff were very friendly and helpful but did not really speak English. Hotel is three blocks from the beach, so location is not bad at all. The aircon is at ground level blowing directly onto the bed which is a bit uncomfortable when left on at night...which you'd want to do in the middle of July!
