Love the food at this hotel!

Having to pay $20/day for internet seems a bit much, especially since it was spotty at best. Might as well not offer it all. Also, absolutely no water pressure in the showers. Both of these are nice-to-haves, which didn't impact my enjoyment overall.
Amansala has a beautiful, rustic feel. The cleaners did a great job and there's nothing to worry about with no locks on the doors because the safe does it's job.

Poor service, terrible food

No lock at all on the door and most windows - not even from the inside. Felt insecure especially as we moved here after being burgled at prior apartment.

Wish that the staff in the restaurant will be a bit quicker ;) sometimes orders will take over 30 min wait while there are no customers.
Spacious comfortable bungalows, the food is great. Beach is clean and comfortable as well, with varieties of sunbeds. We had a semi-sea view room which was great, had no conditioner but it was cool enough to sleep at night. Overall worth the money you spend, will definitely come back

The people at the reception were not professional they didn't care about us, when we arrived they immediately ask us to pay without taking time to welcome us. During the sojourn they didn't even say hello to us . We didn't feel welcomed, it's a pity because the place is very nice !
The location is excellent, the beach is wonderful, the spot is very nice. People at the restaurant were very friendly.

I had read that there was a bikini boot camp at Amansala but did not realize that would mean that we would be awoken early to loud yoga music, followed later by loud dance music. The rooms are hot, we traveled in July, and my sons rooms were so warm that they were sweating all night. One tiny window in the room. Ask for extra fans, finally thought to do that later. We came here after the Faimont Mayakoba who had wonderful service. The front desk was not cheerful and ridiculously ill informed. Also, it is confusing as to how they set up breakfast for boot campers versus everyone else sometimes leaving other paying guests feeling like second class citizens. Service is quite poor. Great location on the beach though and Tulum a beautiful spot to bring the family.

The rooms with partial view ate not worth the money. Better hotel offers for the same price. Limited menu, Didn,t change shower or beach towels. Furniture worn out. Non prepared concierge. No keys on room or tv.
The location. Only the room with total view of the beach.

"One two three! Stomachs in ! Almost there!" If you are enrolled in the boot camp it looks like a fantastic program. If not, we found it put a damper on relaxing in your room. It's the opposite vibe. They really should have the boot camp at Amansala chica. - two doors down. Only have yoga classes at the main hotel. Yoga classes cost $20 and are only scheduled during boot camp. Next door at maya Tulum they cost $15. Seems they could give guests a discount. Depends what you are looking for.
The White sands and turquoise beaches are gorgeous. The room was lovely with plenty of towels and honey shampoo. The staff is sweet and stay out of your way. The beach furniture is very comfortable. The restaurant view is awesome and very casual.

No AC, But after a couple days, we adjusted. After all, it is a hotel that supports a clean environment, so we'll worth the sacrifice. Ceiling fan and floor fan made the nights very comfortable.
The staff was exceptional. And if you go in knowing what to expect, this is the perfect Bohemian get-away. No fuss, no muss. Very healthy, delicious food. Simple rooms. Walking distance to shops and other great restaurants. Exercise classes looked amazing, although I did not participate because I had my young son with me. But I was able to use the yoga room for my own mini workouts. Breathtaking views in both exercise rooms. Beach is perfect for swimming right in front of hotel, and not heavily trafficked. This was the most relaxing 4 days of our 10 day vacation, which also included an upscale resort.
