We stayed in the penthouse room, which is huge, and good fun, with the crows nest. 10–15 minute walk to the centre, and with some good cafes and restaurants nearby.
The room is essentially open to the outside, so noise and insects are a problem. We slept using earplugs. The bed wasn't that comfy. One evening the hot water stopped working. Be aware that reception is not manned full time - I lost our key and it was only due to the assistance of a couple down the road that we got into the room again, after about 3 hours!
I liked the actual location of amaranto.
For some reason not made clear my husband and I were given a place to stay on the opposite side of the street of Amaranto property. It was not well maintained and felt under standards.
The villa we rented was very clean and spacious and had all the facilities we need! The beds were really comfortable, we had a nice garden with a barbecue and the house was cleaned every day. The owner of Amaranto wasn't in the country, but he e-mailed us regularly to give us advice on were to eat, dive and what to visit. This was a very good choice!
We loved the proximity to town and Manaula who was taking care of the property. The Bed was very stiff which helped us sleep through the night soundly.
the pool is not super functional.
We didnt know the exact time for breakfast in the morning and we showed up at 9:40am in the kitchen. Manuela, the lady responsible for the food and cleaning of the hostel told us that breakfast was untill 9:30am, that she was already cleaning and she couldnt offer us anything.
Special design of rooms Jorge the owner of the place is very nice and helpful - let us stay beyond the check out and gave good tips good breakfast and location
We loved everything about this place. The owner is superfriendly and the house has an amazing architecture. We stayed in the penthouse and i can recommend it to anybody.
It is walking distance from banks, shopping, dining. We like to walk to it was good for us. Jorge the owner and Manuela his assitant we very accomidating, friendly...we were very happy. Its a beautiful place.
Very nice and helpful staff Best breakfast during our 3,5 weeks travel Nice atmoshere Close to the beach Cozy hammocks in the garden area
lost in the middle of city which can not find even a taxi. And no restaurant nearby.
Nice bungalows. Clean and comfortable.
fantastic owner; very kind, very helpfull. This place feels like a sweet holiday house of yourself. Very home sweet home. Nice pool in the garden. Nice relaxing music playing in the evening.
Thanks Jorge!!! We love staying at your inn.
Fabulous architecture. The huts were rustic, but modern, designed by host Jorge himself. Jorge was very friendly and super helpful, answering any questions promptly online and in person was super helpful with recommending great local restaurants and reefs for diving. Breakfast in the morning was optional, but highly recommended. Manuela always prepared us a beautiful breakfast in the morning. Loved it! Loved Cozumel! Close enough to the main part of town, but just outside enough to feel like you were part of the Cozumel neighbourhood. Everything was in walking distance. Parking out the front of accomm was not a prob for us either. Although, we were there on the shoulder season. I had some of the best sleeps of my life here :)
Jorge's B&B is a beautiful place in a quiet neighborhood in Cozumel. I loved everything about this place. The staff was super friendly, the rooms were clean and the bed very comfortable. Everything is reachable in walking distance and we felt very safe and secure at his place. I would definitely recommend his place.
The owner was multi-lingual and super friendly. Beautiful place with beautiful and spaceful rooms. Love my two days stay over there
Probably the only thing that I was not very happy about was the smell from the big dog. I mean, I like dogs. But it was a bit too smelly...
Jorge is very great and can give a lot of hints. Rooms are equipped with all you need and individually built/designed.
Fun room decor Shower Location Wifi
Noisy in the morning Overcharged as breakfast was added onto room rate even though I had booked a 'breakfast included' rate No AC in the loft room which made it a bit hot at times
they gave me the Penthouse (no A/C) instead of the Bungalow Superior with A/C.
This is NOT an all inclusive resort with umbrellas in YOUR piña colada. This is a super clean, comfortable, unique, inexpensive and convenient place to stay if you're the type who plans to be active and needs a fun base of operations and a good bed. Jorge, the owner, is the best! 8-10 block walk to all the attractions in San Miguel.
The bed might be a bit hard for some but it didn't bother me.
Stay in the room at the top of the main building. You even get your own private lookout.
- very nicely designed, spacious bungalow with even some books to read - location close to local eateries and 10 min walk from downtown/ferry/souvenir stores
- the bathroom & room have partially open roof - it does not limit your privacy, but both nights we found cockroaches in the shower and using the mosquito net is a must.
The location in a quiet place, the proximity to everything you might need in town, the friendly staff and their availability. Amazing bungalow equipped with everything you need, much space and attention to details. Very comfy. Amazing breakfast also! And there's a wonderful dog too!
Jorge gave us excellent reccomedations for food and activities. Rent a car to drive around the island. Room was amazing loved it here
George was an excellent host. The facilities were clean and comfortable AND beautiful. I felt like I was really in Mexico staying there, much more so than if I had been staying in a resort. Great value for the money.
Nothing to complain about :-)
