I thought the food was just okay. But the view of the ocean and the excellent wait staff made up for that.
I was upgraded to a room with a beach view which was amazing! My bed was soft, the room was cool (great air conditioning) and everything was always very clean. The staff was so helpful and made me feel welcome. That means a lot to a solo traveler. However, the added shallow pool made the hotel perfect for a family with young kids.

I liked that the place had a pool. I liked that it has a wide, large beach area to lay out and play.

At the registration the staff explained our room is upraded, but realised later we stayed in a different hotel called Coral Tulum. It was not the same what I reserved in the booking.com., the price was also much expensive than the original contract. In the Coral tulum, overall the staff are very nice and friendly, expecially the bar and restaurant service staffs, excellent mexican people, always smile and smile, friendly kind. Just by checking out, the front desk ordered the room service sort of inspection of the room, we should wait for everything ok sign. It was not so pleasant farewell after so expensive hotel one week staying.

For the price, the room could have been cleaned a bit more thoroughly (although by no means unsanitary!).
Location of the hotel is perfect if you're looking for something centrally located on the main beach strip. It's very easy to walk up and down on either the beach or jungle side to neighboring hotels, restaurants, bars, etc. and within walking distance to many of the restaurants that will be recommended to you (Hartwood, Posada Margherita, Gitano, Coco Banano, etc.). If you're not into the "scene" (there are plenty of places that to accommodate something more tame as well near by. It's a quick cab or bike ride to Tulum Pueblo as well as the neighboring ruins. The staff at Ana Y Jose were delightful and the Mexican breakfast at the hotel restaurant while overlooking the ocean was something we looked forward to everyday.

The WiFi was very inconsistent and didn't work the majority of the time, but we weren't there to be connected all the time so ultimately it was okay.
The front desk staff was incredibly helpful & wanted to ensure we were comfortable & enjoying our stay. We stayed in the ocean front suite above the restaurant bar and although you could hear some music in the evening, the view was beautiful & totally worth it. The food was very good as well.

Great boutique hotel with amazing staff, food, accommodations. Location was good (next to 2 great restaurants) except that the beach was small. A few hundred feet and the beach opens up more.

The staff was wonderful, very friendly and accommodating. The grounds and beach were gorgeous and the location was perfect. My only complaint would be that the WiFi is a bit weak, unfortunately I have no choice but to work while on vacation. Other than that it was awesome!! Thank you Alexander, Felix and Frederico!!

Booked at Ana y Jose and they lost the res. To their credit they booked us here, which is probably an upgrade. Internet in our room was horrible and unusable, but our friend's room was perfect.
Location along beach and Hwy 109. Access to great restaurants and bars. Covered beach beds and wonderful service. Food was great and included breakfast was surprisingly awesome.

Sometimes there was no hot water.
Lovely helpful smiling Staff, beach location, relaxed vibe, lovely long beach to sit, walk or run along, plenty of restaurant options nearby.

I WAS VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH THE ROOM THEY GAVE ME. I SPECIFICALLY ASKED FOR THE GARDEN ROOM WITH THE BEST VIEW, AND THEY GAVE ME THE WORST EVEN THOUGH THERE WERE OTHER THREE BETTER OPTIONS. I TOLD THE RESERVATIONS PERSON BY THE NAME OF OSCAR AND HE INSISTED THE ONE THEY GAVE ME (NUBE) WAS THE BEST. NOT TRUE, IT FACED THE SWIMMING POOL, I HAD NO VIEW AND NO PRIVACY.
The place, the location, the food

Staff is "busy" but has poor oversight of what the guests need. Sometimes you have to beg to be served. Construction quality is the type of the "glorified shack", resulting in massive leakage of airconditioned air outside so that the rooms in a hot and humid air do not dry out. Good that the hotel does not call itself "eco" as it definitely is NOT with such enormous energy inefficiencies ! Rooms are dark with tiny windows (guests want to see the ocean, right ?) and the entrance doors so low even a normal height person has to duck, giving the whole thing a sense of dankness. I went down the beach and found a very similar facility for a THIRD of the price. Ana & Jose is definite overpriced stay

-while the rooms are lovely and comfortable, ours must have been the worst in the whole place, looking out on a wall with airconditioning units. If you book a garden room, ask for one of the 4 that have access to the private pool, or ones facing the main pool! -It is expensive. Yes, all hotels in Tulum are relatively expensive, and you do get what you pay for, but in absolute terms, it's a lot of money.
-wonderful staff, very helpful -great location on the beautiful Tulum beach -lovely pool -air conditioning in rooms works very well -wifi works well enough to use iphone/ipad app as babyphone, which was handy!

Way too expensive considering the old state the place is in. Needs to be refreshed and updated. Restaurant is understaffed. The place needs love and attention.
