Only negative was the sporadic wif-fi connection in room.
The hotel is beautiful and quiet even though it is 30 secs from 5th Avenue. The staff were always friendly and super helpful.

The bathroom was a little basic, but the shower was excellent
Half a block from the shops and restaurants of Fifth Avenue, free parking, water bottle in the room, clean, nice pools

Could have changed the offerings of the free continental breakfast a bit, but that's just being extremely nit-picky.
From the amazingly thoughtful, helpful and professional staff to the boutique traditional-chic style of the grounds and property to the ANAZING location to the 2 beach clubs included everything about Aventura was perfecto!!!!!!!

Don't like open plans bathrooms, Some things you do need privacy. Main annoyance was the pool is quite small and very limited sun loungers and space available.
The location and ambience of this hotel is superb. Nice gardens, comfortable rooms, and lovely pool and restaurant.

The breakfast included with our stay was always the same food. A variety would have been appreciated when you stay a week.
The hotel was very relaxing and the atmosphere was very spa like. Great restaurant, dinner was wonderful and very nice courtyard to enjoy it!!

The hotel staff was strange, and passively unfriendly enough for me to maybe not go back. I traveled with a girl friend of mine and we bought the transportation package. Our flight from Denver was delayed an hour and when we arrived there was no one waiting for us. We looked extensively for our names or a shuttle from the hotel. We asked people. Eventually we took another shuttle and when we arrived the hotel would not refund us the $40 apiece because they said someone from the hotel shuttle was there at the airport. But we are older, experienced travellers, and there was no one at the airport I'm telling you. Next, they tried to give me a room that was directly by the front entrance. It was dark, and had a covered window that faced the street, at street level, with bars on it. Dark, horrible looking room, right by the front desk. They did give me a different room with 2 double beds facing the courtyard and pool when I requested it which was nice, except that I asked specifically if it was the kids pool and the guy said "It is, but there are no children staying at the hotel at this time senora". We went to show my friend to her room, and when I got back there were 3 kids jumping in the pool until 8:30 that night. And the next night. Hmmm. Really? We scheduled massages for noon one day, arrived, and the front desk guy had no idea what we were talking about. He blamed the night guy but didn't apologize. He rescheduled us for 6pm, two hot stone massages. We go at 6, and sorry! No hot stones and only one "masseuse" so we had to go one after the other.6-7pm and 7-8pm. "Can you pay cash? I will wait here". Finally, my friend came in from shopping with to-go food one night and asked the front desk if she could have a plate and fork to heat it in the microwave in her room. "Kitchen's closed" is all she got from the front desk guy. She went to the restaurant however and they were happy to give her a plate and fork to use.
The location is in the midst of the bustling 5th avenue area, which goes on for blocks and blocks. Excellent food choices in all price ranges and excellent shopping and sight seeing in all price ranges. Lots of nightlife, and very close walk to a pretty beach.

WIFI was temperamental We were advised by the staff on reception that we could use a particular Beach Club for free but when we arrived at 9.30am we were told sunbeds weren't available to residents from other hotels until after 10.30am
Design of the hotel Spacious rooms Restaurant - good breakfast Helpful staff

Wifi was poor.
Very clean hotel, good staff, nice restaurant. Quiet place, but in the center of Playa del Carmen.

Nice central location - daily yoga for all the locals and instructors of the area - let you join any class throughout the day and is contribution based only....hotel staff are very friendly, unobtrusive, knowledgeable and helpful. Walking distance to all the shopping and restaurants as well as arrangements with beach clubs that you can use daily. Otherwise a great location to take daily tours from. highly recommended

Staff were fantastic and recommended great restaurants, booked our tours and happy to help with any enquiries. Central to restaurants, shopping and beach. Affiliation with Indigo Beach Club was fantastic as we were able to access the lounges on the beach. Free breakfast was perfect. Will definitely be back.

If there was an elevator we missed it so had to ask for help lugging suitcases, however help was easily found!
Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful So close to 5th yet no noise from the busy street Free wifi free breakfast!! Beach area a pleasant walk away once you know where you are going

The furnishings of the room are a bit dated, but this hotel is excellent value for money. I recommend it.
I love the layout of the property. The hotel is situated around two courtyards, each with a pool and plenty of space to sit or lay around. The grounds were very well kept and the palm trees and flowers were beautiful! Very relaxing and very tropical! The adjoining juice/kava bar and yoga studio is a great chillout space. Good location. Although it's just 1/2 a block of off 5th avenue with all it's shops and restaurants, it's on a quiet side street so you don't hear a thing. They offer luggage storage and use of the shower and change room so it's great if you have a late flight, you can still spend the day at the beach and wash up before heading out.

Some (not all) of the bathrooms don't have doors or full height walls. word of warning The chichen itza trip organised through the hotel (but run by another company) wasn't great. The mini bus was was cramped and the journey went via Tulum so was very long. Better to take the ADO bus.
Loved staying here - perfect central location only a couple of minutes from the main street. Staff could not have been more helpful and the rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. The restaurant on site was also excellent with delicious breakfast included in the slay. Great value for money - would highly recommend and would definitely stay again if I was in Playa de Carmen again. Also booked airport transfer through the hotel - nice to have somebody waiting for you after a long flight with a nice cold drink and a chilled towel!

Very nice place to stay if you want to be close to la quinta, quiet during the night. The swimming pool is very small so If the purpose of your vacation is to stay 12hours a day at the hotel aventura mexicana is not the perfect place. Breakfast is correct for the price. Staff is very cool i will recommend this hotel

Limited breakfast, noisy daily maintenance work took place outside our room
Nice pool, quiet location, good maid service
November 12, 2014
a little bit far from the hotel'ss beach, the hotel's beach is full of boats,
great location, nice staff, big room, warm water in shower, the breakfast was nice but not too fancy (toast, cereal, eggs etc), air conditioning wirked well, wifi works very well in the rooms and restaurant
October 27, 2014
There is no door between the toilet to the room but for us it was OK.
The hotel area is very nice and clean. The room was clean and lovely. The restaurant has a basic breakfast but it's enough for us, the food we ordered from the menu was deli shes! The staff was very nice and helpful, know English :) The pools are very fun and lovely. The hotel located in a very good area - not to close to the main noise and not to far. We really like the staying there!!!

Excellent hotel right next to 5th Avenue with plenty of restaurants and bars but no noise could be heard at night from my room (garden view). Very nice room, AC working perfectly, big and comfortable bed. Great atmosphere in general, I will definitely stay here another time!

My only complaint was there was a time of day where the aircond. didn't seem to keep up. But….it was July.
Close to the beach; but not on the beach. Close to eateries and shopping; but not in the row of huge, overbooked resorts. Very nice and comfortable; but not overpriced. We don't like huge crowds and this was perfect.
August 21, 2014
Wifi was a little slow- hard to make a skype call. Nothing major
Rooms were spacious, clean, and modern. Staff were excellent and always willing to help. Would definitely stay again when in the area.
August 19, 2014
The Wifi is really slow. The breakfast could be a bit more varied
The hotel offers a lot of services. We particularly enjoyed the (small) pools being open 24h/day.
August 5, 2014
the bed was a little hard even for me that I like firm beds
The hotel was super cute and nicely decorated.
July 11, 2014
Ñothing major just some ideas. 1.coffee maker in Room with no cups or other supplies, 2.Fridge and microwave but no table to eat at. 3.Chairs are covered but not fixed so there is no support when you sit. 4. Free community yoga classes held in the "business center" so paying guests can't check flights or print boarding passes , Why? These are all excellent ideas that have not been thought through.
Quiet. Pool área clean . Location good. Staff helpful
