Azucar Hotel Tulum  

The location was absolutely amazing, couldn't be beat. The waters were perfect, and the beach was relatively quiet where we were. The cabana was laid out really comfortably for what we need and perfect for what we were looking for, low key, laidback, romantic beach stay.

The wifi didn't work as advertised. I wasn't able to connect at all the whole time I was there, which was 3 days and nights. It was not password protected so maybe that's part of the reason, but they really should look into it. It was very inconvenient not to be able to look stuff up.

This is a different hotel. My wife and me had the opportunity of being in contact with nature of jungle and ocean, in the comfortable ambiance of our cabin. The beach of Azucar Hotel is very clean and the color is as any other. The staff was very kind, all are natives of Tulum. We needed extra water and they provide to us for free. Excellent.

The view is insane; so beautiful. The location and value are wonderful, as was the groundskeeper, Mario. Nobody bothers you, your place is cleaned perfectly every day and the house itself is wonderful and rustic.

The power goes off sporadically, as Tulum has no electricity aside from generators. The internet was spotty, if not at all. I used the wifi from other resorts.

Our cabin was so sweet, clean and confortable, this is a very petit boutique right a few meters away from the ocean water just as in pictures. It has all the necessary services we needed during our staying, wifi, electricity, hot and cold water... The private beach is amazing and beautiful. Thanks Azucar Hotel Tulum!

This hotel is couldn´t be closer to the ocean, it is amazing its ocean view. It is very private, and the staff is very friendly. The cabins are very sweet, and each has different decoration. Definitely I will come back to Azucar Hotel. Also there are lot of restaurants close to the hotel on the beach. The price was excellent. It was better than what I was expecting for.

We loved our stay here. The staff was very friendly and accomodating; the mostly private beach was perfect complete with comfortable lounge chairs and umbrellas; the room although not large was fine and the daily housekeeping service was nice. We will definitely come back.

It would have been nice to have a little larger fridge and maybe a small coffee maker.

The rooms were very clean every day. The room was small but romantic. It had a mini fridge to store drinks also. The view was incredible. The location was excellent - right on the sand and walking distance to restaurants.

The bed was very hard.

Azucar is gorgeous! The staff was very friendly and helpful- always! The room was fresh and clean and everything worked!! The setting was incredibly romantic and the Caribbean beach setting was spectacular....definitely recommend Azucar! P&T Ras. Nelson bc Canada

No fridge in room...Having a fridge would have made our trip perfect. The generator right next to our cabana was very loud as well as the road traffic. Ear plugs are a necessity!

Location was fantastic - on the beach - our cabana just set back in the garden. The beach here is classic white sand and palm trees fringing turquoise sea. Good restaurants nearby. Tulum ruins and coba within easy reach. Cabana was basic but well set up with comfortable bed and good shower.sun beds and shades available on beach plus bathing towels.

Please see our email in reply to yours - 4th March re: 'minibar'. Couldn't believe attitude of owner. Felt sorry for guy on site! Clean towels had to be asked for twice.

Great location on the beach. The hotel has only five rooms, so it feels very private and relaxing. The staff is very friendly and helpful and there is a night guard patrolling. There’s no restaurant, it’s done on a purpose in order to keep the place quite; it’s plenty of restaurants just few steps nearby. It would be nice however to have a small breakfast or just a kettle in the room. The room was clean, the garden and the front beach well kept. You get a beach towel as well.

The WiFi antenna must be in the garden, we had to go outside the room in order to have signal, but in such a beautiful place it was better to enjoy it and forget the rest of the world. There was a heavy rain one night and some water was leaking from the ceiling at the entrance. I had my small bag there and some clothes over it that became wet.

Dark. Small room with not enough space for bags. Some maintenance issues such as toilet and lights not working properly. Unhelpful staff.

Our cabin and the location looked exactly like shown on the website! This is such a beautiful spot, very clean and very well kept. We just loved sleeping in listening to the waves of the ocean and waking up every day to a truly spactacular sun rise. All the hotel staff was incredible, especially Mario is a true gem. Our cabana did not have a coffee maker but Monica promised us coffee every morning and felt really special. Thank you all at the Azucar Hotel for a wonderful stay!

The refrigerator didn't work properly and froze our food and beverages. We also had a little night "guest" who ate our chips and bananas. Mario offered to put up a trap but since we weren't sure which animal it was, we declined.

It was a pleasant stay. Staff was friendly and the room was very cute! The location was the highlight though!

Not crowded at all, very small property with 5 rooms, thus small amounts of guests and plenty of private beach time.

WiFi is very weak, if at all. Not a big deal, but if that's important to you, you should be aware.

Wow, this place was really nice. It is not a resort, neither an hotel, you won't find a front desk and restaurant, but you will find a peaceful, clean and really little paradise right in front of the beach. The staff there is nice, always there if you have any problem or information, but let all the privacy you need. If you feel to have a different kind of vacation, go for azucar. You will not regret it.

It was not informed on Booking that the shower and taps have salt/fresh water. It should be informed beacause one day taking this shower is ok but if you need to do it for a week seems no good and people must know it in order to planning their trip correctly.
